It starts with a bang. As in me and Hadley, the maid of honor, during my brother’s wedding reception.Sure, it was amazing, but I’m a one-and-done kind of guy. After spending years of my life getting screwed over by managers and agents with the Ryder Brothers, I no longer like to commit. I don’t even play music anymore. The secret that I haven’t told anyone- is that I can’t.A chance to raise money … can’t.
A chance to raise money for my best friend’s nonprofit to help child stars means it’s time to deal with my block.
Hiring Hadley seems like the obvious solution.
She wants inside my head (not happening). I want to bang her again (she says she can’t sleep with clients).
Between my baggage and her professionalism, can my problem even be fixed?
Or will we both end up just wanting more?

More has everything you could possibly want in a romance. Jonas Ryder is the quintessence player who has no time for relationships or the music profession he used to live for. He’s jaded by the industry and the responsibilities of looking out for his younger brothers. So he spends most of his time swigging whiskey and having one night stands. He doesn’t need more than that or does he? Enter Hadley Stark and after offering her a pirate’s booty and an unforgettable ‘session’ at his brother’s wedding Jonas starts to think he might want more….he could do more with her. After agreeing to let Hadley help him with his problem of not feeling able to perform, musically that is, they grow closer and do they just. The ‘sessions’ are sizzling and there’s plenty of them. Can Hadley keep if professional whilst trying to help Jonas rekindle his love for his music and performing? Well it all sorts itself out in the end just like a good romance should and Jonas and Hadley get more of themselves and each other. Nick and Jake are peppered throughout the story and I particularly liked Hadley’s friend Rowan. I have to say that for me the story lacked something, I’m not sure what, it didn’t seem to have the same sparkle as the author’s previous books and I found myself enjoying Hadley’s chapters more than Jonas’s. It’s a fun read and compliments a pirate’s booty perfectly.
With his knack for flawless storytelling, JD Hawkins has given the most reclusive Ryder Brother an emotionally charged story. A former boy band member, Jonas has been a bit of an enigma. Unlike his brothers, he’s been out of the spotlight, unable to perform (at least on stage).
From the first sassy, sexy encounter with Hadley at his brother’s wedding, Jonas was drawn to her like no one before. He’s been a master of casual encounters. There’s no plans for emotional ties or commitment in his future, until Hadley…
Hadley’s a life coach who can’t get a handle on her own uneventful life, so a walk on the wild side with bad boy Jonas is exhilarating. Chance encounters while with mutual friends and family feeds their growing attraction, and it soon becomes more…
More is the third in the Ryder Brothers trilogy, with other books by Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee. Each features one of the brothers, and are best read in order. It’s an excellent little series, and this book just might be my favorite!
10 MORE Stars for me!!!
Jonas and Hadley are probably one of my favorite couples.
Jonas was so stoic and had such a huge chip on his shoulder. He felt so wronged by his past, that he couldn’t move forward.
Hadley was almost the opposite. She never experienced anything, never did anything, and seemed to live for others almost.
Together they are the perfect yin and yang, and seem to balance each other out.
Through the whole book, I kept thinking, “how are they going to get through this?”, but they did, and did it perfectly! I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect way. It was the kiss that did it for me.
It took me almost 2 weeks to read this book…which is good and bad. Good, because I got to spend 2 weeks with Jonas , but bad when I feel horrible because I should’ve gotten through it quicker. I know that life happens and some times reading takes a back seat- it doesn’t happen to me often (ha, ha), but please accept my apologies this time.
Now…what about Rowan? We need to know what happens with her. I feel like there are all kinds of things that need to come out there!! Someone needs to tame that girl, and slow down her drinking, without breaking her beautiful spirit. I loved her, positive, and happy vibe. She was always a good friend to Hadley, so good things should come to her.
Loved this story! Book Three, the story of Jonas and Hadley!! A must read <3
Jonas is the oldest, elusive Ryder brother. He turned away from music because of all the stress, commitments and draining tours. He meets Hadley at his brother Nick’s wedding. The two have a steamy hookup in the dressing room. Hadley is a life coach. A friend asks him to perform at an important charity event.Nick ends up hiring her to help him get back to playing music. I loved this couple, they were hot and sexy but with a sweet side.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving a review.
More is everything the Ryder brothers have been hinting at. Jonas was the elusive bad boy ladies man that you only heard about. Until More… Now he’s all you’re thinking about! Troubled and broody are the female version of crack. We all want to hold, help, or love him through it. Jonas is no exception. I
More is fun, flirty, and eventually sweet- once a certain rock star pulls his head out of his…
Loved this story!! An absolute perfect ending to a great little series. Hopefully we may get more from other characters.
I loved how love overcame their struggles. They both helped each other without even knowing it.
I enjoyed everything about this book.
We finally get the story of the eldest Ryder brother, Jonas. I love the way this story starts off, with the Hero and heroine doing the dirty at Nick and Natalia’s wedding. In your typical romance novel, it normally takes the Hero and heroine time to meet, get to know one another, before they finally consummate the relationship. Jonas is a usually “one and done” non-relationship guy. Our heroine, Hadley, who happens to be Natalia’s best friend, is a life-coach, and not a “one night stand” type of gal, which makes their hook-up that much hotter since they are both very connected to the bride and groom, and will inevitably continue to cross paths.
Jonas ends up needing Hadley’s professional help when he agrees to help a good friend by performing again with his brothers. I loved the creative ways Hadley used to help ease Jonas out of his performance block. The chemistry between them was hot, but they had to hide their sparks around the others since they kept their relationship a secret.
Loved having three authors pen the different books. Really gave each brother his own personality. The only thing I felt was a little off, was the lack of mention of Marlee with Jake, at different functions. Not sure if the sequencing of the books changed at the last minute, but it definitely didn’t detract from this story. Loved it!
This story was really good on all fronts. The author did an exceptional job depicting the effects of fame and notoriety that don’t always glitter. Fame and fortune are not always all they’re cracked up to be and this story dealt with that really well IMO.
The love/romance journey the author decided to use with Jonas and Hadley was also perfect for who the characters were. Hadley’s straight shooter personality was exactly what Jonas’s strong-minded aloofness needed! The chemistry between the two was palpable and very captivating. This story will tug at your heart at times and will make it soar in others, Overall, my heart was happy throughout this journey.
Definitely love this story. All the things that Jonas and Hadley go through personally adds depth to the story.
JD Hawkins has a knack for writing Alpha males with vulnerabilities. I loved Jonas and Hadley together – smoking hot, but also the emotional side – Jonas kept coming back for Hadley even though he was normally a “one and done” type. I enjoyed reading about the other Ryder brothers and will be reading their stories next.
I always love reading books written by JD Hawkins. His characters are complicated and have so much depth, and Jonas does not disappoint.
I loved Jake and Marlee’s love story; Jake being so romantic and thoughtful. Jonas has won my heart with his loyalty, his fears and his passion. Passion for the woman who has guided him through his self-discovery and passion for his music.
She’s imperfect and at times insecure. But she’s his everything. She’s sincere and giving and puts her whole self into everything she does. She’s his.
Jonas is a perfectly flawed man, afraid of what he needs most; family, his music, and a lifetime with the woman he loves.
I’m left smiling and satisfied after reading More.
Everyone can always use a little bit of help in life; even those whose professions are to help others live their best lives. That is what our sensitive, giving, and hard-working, life-coach Hadley soon discovers.
Born to help others, Hadley begins to doubt her efficiency as a life coach. Not sure if she is helping her clients enough and unsure as to the direction of her own life, Hadley surprises herself when she does something completely out of character. She has a one-night stand with a famous rocker.
Former boy-band rocker, Jonas has been taking care of others all of his life. He is burned out and over everything that once brought him joy in the field of music. So, ever the playboy, Jonas figures a one-night stand at his brother’s wedding will take his mind off his problems for a while, as it is one of his only coping mechanisms for living. But he had no idea that his thoughts would continue to consume him once he had a taste for Hadley.
While neither Jonas nor Hadley can stop thinking about the other, months after their first rendezvous, it becomes clear that they may have more at risk than a hot chemical connection with one another. They may just be what the other needs in their life to find a peace within themselves that they weren’t sure was possible.
Allowing someone in and seeing your vulnerabilities is a harrowing task that can uproot many other weeds in the garden so to speak. So, will these two be able to help one another or will the pressure prove to be too much? That is a question for you to find out when you read the last installment of the Ryder Brothers trilogy.
As Always, Happy Reading
“4/5 Beaming Brains!” – Lit-Up My Mind
This is the 3rd book in the Ryder Brothers series. This is about Jonas Ryder. Jonas has stepped away from the spotlight of the music world even though both his brothers are still in the music world. Jonas is a playboy and a love em and leave em type of guy. Jonas hooks up with Hadley (who is his new sister in law’s best friend) at his brother’s wedding with both of them understanding that it was just a hookup. Afterwards, both of them can’t get the other out of their minds. When a friend asks Jonas to get out of “retirement” and perform at her charity function with his brothers, Jonas doesn’t think he can do it. When Jonas decides to hire Hadley to be his life coach and help him get over his hang ups. As they work together, their attraction is hard to resist and it gets really steamy!
This is the final book. the final Ryder brother in the series and boy am I sad to see it finish, I loved the concept of three different authors writing about three brothers who all have their own issues. J.D.Hawkins is a new author to me but after reading More I certainly will be checking out other works from this very talented author.
Jonas Ryder is the oldest Ryder brother and that makes him responsible for his siblings and the issues that went with the boy band they formed but he burnt himself out and he walked away when they were at the top but even after walking away he can’t find the happiness his siblings have both found so he turns to a woman he met at his brothers wedding a woman who was meant to be a one time fling…….
Hadley is a life coach and she has never crossed the line with one of her clients (well she has not technically crossed the line with Jonas because the hook was before he was her client ) but even though she knows he is off limits she can’t stop the attraction and the feelings she has for her best friends brother in law……..
This story is an emotional one it captures all the emotions and demons Jonas has faced in his life and it had me feeling like I needed to hug this broken man. This author’s writing has a way of drawing you in and making emotionally invested with the characters, you feel their pain you feel their love and most importantly you relate to them. What a great book to end this wonderful series on.
So, this is the first series I’ve followed that includes three different books, by three different authors and I must say I was completely blown away. It was a very different journey to go on having three writing styles mixed together, yet each of them brought their own twists and uniqueness to each story. My favorite has to be this one though. I must say, JD did such an amazing job of giving us Hadley & Jonas. Jonas is one of the most distinctive characters I’ve read that live in a world I’ll never understand. The entertainment world. JD was able to bring out the oldest Ryder brothers’ story in such a way, that was truly an original piece of romance I just don’t come across reading as many books as I do. This one was in a league all of it’s own.
In More, we see how Jonas has distanced himself from his brothers. Pulling away since leaving the band and living a life he’s not happy with. When he has fun at his brother’s wedding and in turn meets Hadley, his world is flipped upside down. Everything he thought he wanted, seizes to matter. He is drawn to her in a way that no woman has ever pulled him in. Captivated by their one night together, he’s determined to make it happen again. But when he seeks out her help, she puts a stop to their shenanigans. Their chemistry is so strong throughout the entire book, her rule will soon be bent or broken. It’s inevitable. And JD has written perhaps his most smoldering, sexy tale to date. Their story had my kindle smoking from the first sentence.
Can these two works together and also find a way to help each other in more ways than one? BRAVO on a great end to a steaming, smoking, sizzling Ryder Brother’s series!!!!
This might come as a shock to those of you that follow my blog–since I read such a large variety of authors–but I have never read J.D. Hawkins. More was my introduction to his work and I can say I was in no way disappointed. This is the third and final book in the Ryder Brother’s series. The previous two books were Close by Laurelin Paige and Want by Kayti McGee. More is fun, sexy, sweet and entertaining. Jonas Ryder is the oldest and known as the elusive Ryder brother. And while his two younger brothers have maintained their careers in the music industry, Jonas chose to walk away from his own. Now, the former boyband star has been asked by his best friend to preform for the first time since he stepped away and Jonas isn’t sure that’s even possible. Hadley is a life coach and a one-night stand that Jonas can’t stop thinking about. When the one-time fling turns into a second fling, Jonas turns to Hadley to help him get beyond his hang-ups. Though Jonas makes it a rule never to return for repeats something about Hadley keeps him coming back. And while Jonas has all the right moves in the bedroom, Hadley may have bitten off more than she can chew.
More is a full-length standalone that can be read on its own. It’s written in dual perspectives, so readers will enjoy getting to know both characters and the fast pace will keep them entertained. This NA romance shows readers a different side to Jonas then they’ve encountered in the previous books. I loved the emotions and vulnerability that J.D. Hawkins pulled out of him. I am definitely looking forward to reading more of his work in the future. I would rate more at 4.5 stars and would recommend this book.
This book was so much fun to read. I loved how the characters were relatable and had a depth to them while still keeping the book a relaxing read. Will now be going to check out the other two books in this series.
*3 Stars*
ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
The final Ryder brother gets his story in this one. Both main characters have been in the previous books, and so we have had little glimpses of them before, to get us wanting more.
More is all that Jonas wants as well. After some hot wedding sex with Hadley, they run into each again down the track, and he finds out that she is a life coach. This leads to Hadley mixing business and pleasure which can be quite tricky.
With neither of them really admitting to the truth of their feelings, and with the “job” mixed in, this leads to some interesting times between them and some deeper realisations on both their parts.
A fun and fast read, would recommend.
Highly enjoyable and intense book, with plenty of sizzling and angsty scenes. Hadley and Jonas were definitely perfect for each other, they had an intense connection right from the start. Took them a while to figure out they belonged together, but the build up to their discovery was so worth it.
