Liz Savoy has no plans to date anyone — least of all the dark handsome mystery man who sometimes inhabits the corner table at the coffee shop where she’s working to get through school. But plans change, sometimes in ways no one expected.
Jake McCoy is the next mega-millionaire author, or at least he would be if he could get the stories in his head down on the ether. With no good place to write, … to write, he resorts to dark corners in Wi-Fi hotspots, knowing no one in the world cares about him or his comings and goings one way or the other.
However, there is one waitress at The Grind coffee shop with a cute smile and kind eyes who doesn’t seem to think he is as invisible as he likes to think he is. Can reality with her ever hope to match the fantasy world where his imagination has him living?

I just finished this book and I want more! I was a fantastic combination of of lovable characters, God’s love and a storyline that many of us relate to deeply.
Thank you Stacie Stallings for this exceptional look at real life and the love of God that never fails us.
Informative & realistic about learning disabilities.
StaCi Stallings in one of the best. Love her books.
A book to read when you want a happy read.
Really slow and just not that interesting. There really isn’t a plot besides girl with baggage meets boy with baggage.
I( couldn’t stop reading because I wanted to know where the author was going to go next, but many times wished she’d hurry things up a bit. It dragged at times, and the ending was a HEA, but wanted to hear more about the male character achieving his dream with her help.
I loved this book. A great read. It was hard to put it down. I couldn’t wait to finish it. I would highly recommend this book. I love the author.
Great book from beginning to end!
Great look into the life of a deslectic person. Handled well.
I am not good at writing reviews, but I really liked this book. It was very informative on a subject I have personal interest in, Dyslexia. I was a little lost at times since the story line took some time to develope. Then later it seemed to take a turn away form that story line. It almost read like a mystery. I am glad I persevered. I might have lost interest in the book if It had been written as a straight up Christian romance, and that is how I was reading it.
There are links to various sites at the end and a good follow up true life book about the author’s personal connection to Dyslexia. Both books were excellent in my opinion.
I try to read all Staci Stallings books and this won was so well written really enjoyed this book.
I struggled staying with the book in the beginning. There seemed to be a great deal of unnecessary writing that left me wondering if it would ever make enough sense to be worth continuing or if I should just put the book away. However, about a third of the way into the book some spark of life began to appear as the possibility of dyslexia eased its way into the story. The author’s depth of understanding (the reason for such understanding became clear in her notes at the end) was not only informative but through this information came the much needed glue for the storyline.
Slow start (3* for that)…good after that (a 4-4.5* story )
Starts out slowly. Needs to get into real story quicker.
I didn’t like the constant insert of the fictional characters in the main characters head with no warning.
I loved this book. It’s a refreshing change to have characters–especially a hero–who aren’t rich and famous, who struggle with things real people struggle with. Both of the main characters–but especially this hero, unique and appealing flawed man, stole my heart.
great story that just pulls you in and has you fighting for the characters to get their HEA. Well written and clean read. I really liked the people in the book. Thanks for a wonderful story!
I felt it was somewhat contrived to sell the “message” about the painful effects of dyslexia left undiagnosed and untreated. I was interested in the information about dyslexia but would prefer not feeling like I stepped into an infomercial.
I felt the characters over-reacted in too many instances and their inner-dialogue made them seem insecure and indecisive and then reactionary rather than proactive.
I liked the characters meeting life challenges in the context of allowing God to work in their lives and trusting in Him.
Really enjoyed the book. Couldn’t put it down.
For me it was hard to get started with the story. Ended with a positive meaning .
