Book One in The Maple Leaf Series
Lily Hinsdale spends her California days designing extravagant hotels for Utopia Resorts. Her nights are filled with the glitz and glamour of upscale parties. Until her grandmother dies and leaves Lily property in wretched Vermont. The woods mean only one thing to Lily—nightmares. When Utopia wants the land for development, Lily is forced to travel to a place … a place she’d rather forget.
Rick Stannard makes maple syrup and builds barns in the peace and quiet of picturesque Vermont. Noisy New York City nearly killed him a few years back, and now he lives a calm, simple life with his coyote, Poe, and his beloved book collection. It’s the only way he’s guaranteed to wake up each morning.
When Lily marches her expensive boots onto Rick’s land and proposes turning it into a mega resort, the serenity of the woods is shattered. Lily always closes a deal. Rick never intends to sell. They’ll need to compromise, or someone else will do it for them. Someone who is not afraid of the woods or the city.
Or spilling a little blood.

Just that much more than the run of the mill romance …
Nice twist to the big city person and rural person on what is important
Such a fun read! How do you formulate a romance between a woman who fears the outdoors with a man who fears/hates the city? This novel does it, and still manages to keep some surprises all the way through. The writing is solid and smooth, and the characters interesting.
Part of a 6 book series but each book can be read as a stand alone. Each book tells the story of another couple but has crossover characters from others. I have read the entire series and really enjoyed them all.
Loved it!
Nice light read.
By reading the book I made a few pancakes for myself and wishing I had someone to share with like a Adam that’s just in a good book
This story was a very enjoyable read. The characters and how they interacted was so entertaining i could not put it down.
I loved the story and the people she wrote about
Fun read! Well-written characters and a cute storyline. Loved it! First time to read this author but won’t be the last! Highly recommend.
Cute story about a young woman from California who inherits her grandmother’s land in Vermont. The neighbor isn’t going to sell his land to her either, because he is a maple sugar maker and loves living in Vermont. Both of these characters have issues that they share with each other, fall in love, and live happily ever after.
like this book
Loved it. This was a fun book with romance, mystery and intrigue. Very good.
Wonderful!!!
I liked the characters and the story is good. Just all happened really fast, ya know? All in a week? The writing was good and the editing was nearly perfect. The sex scenes were more than just sex scenes, they were love making scenes and really sweet.
Shallow characters
Great book enjoyed it a lot
felt a bit contrived. I didn’t finish it
Great light reading. Really enjoyed. It’s one in a series. Have already started the second one.
Great book that kept me wanting to read more!
