I discovered my ex’s secret. Now I’ll do anything to win her back. I’m Griffin Reed—cutthroat entrepreneur and competitive bastard. Trust is a four-letter word and everyone is disposable…except Britta Stone. Three years ago, she was my everything before I stupidly threw her away. I thought I’d paid for my sin in misery—until I learned we have a son. Finding out she’s engaged to a bore who’s … Finding out she’s engaged to a bore who’s rushing her to the altar pisses me off even more. I intend to win her back and raise our boy. I’ll have to get ruthless, of course. Luckily, that’s one of my most singular talents.
Sixty days. That’s what I’m asking the gritty, independent single mother to give me—twenty-four/seven. Under my roof. And if I have my way, in my bed. Britta says she wants nothing to do with me. But her body language and passionate kisses make her a liar. Now all I have to do is coax her into surrendering to the old magic between us. Once I have her right where I want her, I’ll do whatever it takes to prove I more than need her.

Griffin and Britta pretty much ripped my heart out. Through the whole story, I was right there with Griffin begging her to hear his pleas. I understood her side of it really but I also saw his. Add in that sweet precious boy and I melted.
Oh, man, did I want to get in between them and yell “Stop! Listen!”. 🙂
I admire the creative ways he pushed her to try again. I loved all the sneakiness behind the scenes with Maxon, Keeley, and Harlow. I almost lost it with the morning-after scene.
But true to Shayla Black’s way with words, she pulled them out of the fire in a spectacular way! And saved my sanity in the process. 😉
5 Stars!
Shayla continues to blow me away with each and every book she writes. She’s an absolute master with words, has a way of turning a bunch of words into an incredible love story and without doubt it’ll swallow you whole, consume you for weeks to come and almost leave you breathless after finishing one of her books, and More Than Need You was no exception. I love a good second chance romance, and this book has everything and more that I love about them.
If you’ve read book 1 in the More Than Words series you’ll have a little more understanding on the history with Griff and Britta. It’s not necessary to read book 1 but for a better view on what’s going on, it’s probably a good idea to start with it.
Griff? I absolutely loved him. Bit of an arrogant asshole at times (I have a thing for his types 😉 ) but when you get deeper into the book you will realise why he is the way he is, the reasons behind what he’s done and that all he wants to do now is better himself, his life and the ones he loves and show them that he can be the man that they need him to be.
Britta? She’s a single mother that has been through hell and back in her life and carries a lot of baggage and holds a lot of resentment towards Griff, even though she loves him more than words will ever explains, she struggles to trust him, struggles to trust that’ll be the father that Jamie needs.
Together they are fireworks, the love shared between these two is intense, all consuming, heart breaking, beautiful and overwhelming all in one hit. They had so much to work through and the past continues to test their relationship at every turn, holds them both back from living a happier life together with their child.
Will Britta be able to get over the resentment she holds against Griff and make this work? Will Griff be able to show Britta that he’s a changed man, that he wants nothing more than to build a better life with her and his child?
This book had me in tears. I was an emotional mess. Such a rollercoaster of emotions, passion, heartache and held my attention from page one all the way to the end. Ms. Black broke my heart into a million pieces, just to put all back together piece by piece as I got deeper into the story. Shayla delivers yet another amazing story with twists and turns, a story that’ll pull at your heart strings and have in a messy ball of emotions.
Honestly, the author cannot go wrong. She continues to prove to me that she can write just about anything and it’ll be phenomenal. The emotions, heart and passion that’s poured into each and every of her books is beautiful. I can’t wait to see what she’s got in store for book 3 to this series, but one thing I do know, it’s going to be epic!
I loved Griff and Britta’s story. It was full of all the angst and emotion I’ve come to expect from a Shayla Black book. Griff and Britta had big problems in their past and I loved watching Griff break down her walls. All the characters in this book were great. The storyline was a good quick pace. This was a lighter read that was mainly focused on the couple and not so much outside problems. I will definitely recommend this book to everyone!
I really enjoyed reading Griffin and Britta’s story. You knew it didn’t end well the first time around would the second time be the charm? Griffin had issues. His issues had issues. But now he has a son can he convince Britta to give him another chance? I enjoyed seeing Britta give Griffin a run for his money. He wanted his family but was he ready for the work it would require? I loved seeing him with his son. I love seeing him finally realize that he needed to give Britta everything. Even if I did not expect what it would entail. This story was well written and emotional. I enjoyed seeing Griffin find his happily ever after with Britta and his son.
Good to know that an egotistical, self-involved man can change his ways and become a loving, nurturing husband and father.
