Wickedly sexy James Bowen is a bad boy of the highest order — tattoos and attitude included — which unfortunately ranks way up on Tate’s not-a-chance-in-hell list, right there along with skydiving naked over Teheran and juggling Ebola vials just for kicks. But what the heck, she’s on holiday, the guy is absolutely irresistible, and she needs to unplug from her life. With her dad and brother … gone, Tate is left to deal with the family restaurant, which is fast going down the drain. Her employees are acting out, her boyfriend has bailed out, and her very own private stalker is emailing her to death with lovely threats of doom, fire, and dismemberment. So yeah, maybe a little holiday fling is in order. Strictly sex though, and no follow-up whatsoever.
She hadn’t counted on her take-charge holiday fling having an opinion of his own and stubbornly sticking around, before and after the sex, making himself at home in her life. There is definitely more to James than meets her prejudiced eye, and even if she’s not ready to look deeper, James isn’t prepared to permit her not to.

This started out so funny that I had tears rolling down my face! When Tate was visiting her mother at a senior’s complex in Florida her mom was convinced that her neighbour, Mr. Bowen, had either killed, Amy, her cat or was holding it prisoner. Tate’s mother talked her into crawling into Mr. Bowen’s back yard so they could peer into the house and look for the cat. During their stealthful mission, they were confronted by Mr. Bowen’s son, James. After finding out what they were doing he played along with them saying he didn’t think they had taken any prisoners but he would check with his CO.
It got much more serious after that. After meeting in such an odd way, Tate and James got together. Since James had some tattoos, Tate categorized him as being not into commitment or holding a job. Basically out for himself and no one else. James wasn’t like the stereotype Tate envisioned but he didn’t tell her. Tate wanted a vacation fling and James was good with that because he didn’t do relationships. Turned out James couldn’t get her out of his mind so he looked her up when they went back to Boston.
The suspense in this story mainly surrounds Tate. She is running the family restaurant that isn’t doing well. Someone is messing with her produce orders, the staff is unhappy, there was a small fire in the kitchen that insurance wouldn’t pay for and a stalker is sending her threating emails.
This story is very sexy but the buildup of emotions leading to the sex is what I really liked. It was interesting to have the man want more in the relationship than the woman.
What a surprising twist at the end of this story.
I stumbled across this book and was immediately drawn to it and who wouldn’t be. He is a tattooed bad boy with a heart the size of Texas. James Bowen discovers Tate in a precarious position on the front lawn of his father’s house. Tate unfortunately decides she is going to judge a book by its’ cover when it comes to James and decides to allow him to be just a fling because with those tattoos, his take charge attitude and that dazzling smile he could not be someone she could rely on. When Tate gets under his skin and deep in his heart and soul this man will not give up. Their story will have you on a constant push and pull of emotions as Tate fights to keep this man at arms length but James sees straight through her walls and will not give up. As Tate struggles with the death of her father and brother, debts up to her eyeballs with the family restaurant and a stalker that will not go away, James tries to show her that he will be beside her and support her at every step. James is the first of the Bowen boys and the one that will make you fall in love with this series. Their story is not an easy one and at times Tate will frustrate you to the point you will be yelling at your kindle but it will take nearly losing everything to make this girl realize that some things are worth fighting for. More Than Meets The Ink is hot and steamy, funny, emotional and has a huge side of suspense and drama to keep you gripped from start to finish.
