The first in a brand new series from Sienna Waters!Plain Jane Clark has just about had enough. A string of temp jobs, a horrible house-mate, and a broken down car all add up to a serious need to change things up. Her rich sister’s week-long resort wedding on romantic Hawkin Island might be just what Jane needs. Not that she intends to get into any trouble. Jane’s far too busy taking care of other … care of other people to take care of herself.
As maid-of-honor, Jane’s well aware that she’ll be expected to dance with the best man. What she doesn’t know is that there isn’t a best man. There’s a best woman. And when Araminta Devine strides into Jane’s life, things will never be the same again…
Hawkin Island is the setting for a new lesbian romance series of novels from Sienna Waters. These books can be read independently and in any order. Once you’re on the island though, you may never want to leave!

Jane is having a tough…day, week, year? Now she has to put on a happy face for her sister’s wedding in a luxurious vacation spot. A shot or two of tequila might help…or not.
Jane has not found her groove yet. Unfortunately her “perfect” sister has and now she is going to be the happy maid-of-honor in an all paid for vacation wedding destination. No problem, she just has to hide that her life is in a complete flux at the moment.
Then in rides Ari on a motorbike. All of Jane’s senses go on alert except for confident and bold women like Ari never go for Plain Jane’s like her. Unless maybe they have a shot or two of tequila in them.
Of course the morning after always comes and so do the surprises….
Sienna Waters had me laughing in More Than Me (B081S336NY, 2020) her first book in the “A Hawkin Island Romance” series. I loved the character of Jane and all of her complexities. Who does have life all figured out?
Watching Jane get her groove or should I say display it was at times hilarious and heart-warming. Waters always brings a deep depth of emotion to her characters so that you want them to be your best friends. Well I want Jane to be mine (laugh).
The family dynamic was entertaining and rang too true at times. Waters manages to always balance the growth of the character and the romance so that the character’s growth is not short-changed to get the happy ending.
Do not let the cover fool you. Don’t wait until beach weather to put this on your reading list. Start your season early on Hawkin’s Island.
I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
This was the perfect opposites attract, get out of your comfort zone, each one changes the other for the better type book!
“Plain Jane” (her words, even though they sting) and Araminta (Ari) discovering their own selves through each other is lovely to watch. And the sex scenes – yes, thank you!
As Jane was on the way to the airport to leave for her sister’s destination wedding, her car Charlotte gave up the ghost. It had worked long and hard as she temped her way through many jobs.
Jane was at odds and ends. A sister about to wed with her man and fancy car and lawyer job – naturally the first car to stop was Mads, who wanted to make sure Jane got to the airport
A week at a resort with a wedding at the end of the week is an invitation to unexpected challenges and changes, and new possibilities
If Jane is willing to take some chances; if Mads and her Josh can get over cold feet, if Josh’s best friend Ari can let herself take some of the biggest chances.
Love and life possibilities

Love Jane overcoming her fears and standing up for herself and that she went after what she wanted once she got over comparing herself to everyone around her. Ari I kind of got her deal once they kept dancing around each other I feel like we didn’t get enough of their relationship though like we need another book hince my demanding a sequel.
