Frankie Shaw is the kind of man everyone woman wants. Lauren is a sucky friend, but I still ended up rooting for her in the end. You love who you love, and sometimes, that guy ends up being your best friends boyfriend. LOL… it was a funny roller coaster of a story, but enjoyable nevertheless. I can’t wait to read another one by this author.
I love military romances so it wasn’t a surprise that I enjoyed this one. Not my favorite of Mia’s but still a great read nonetheless. I loved the characters and the story. Definitely recommend if you enjoy short, military romance.

Jay, an army officer in charge of cadets, feels it is time to think about settling down, family, the whole bit. He wants more than one night stands. Naomi has had a bad break up and keeps turning down guys. She is a veterinarian and although she denies it, her assistant assures her she model hot. She gets a talking to about it being time to get back in the dating game. Jay and Naomi meet by coincidence at a greasy spoon dinner, both eating alone. Naomi starts off a conversation and soon joins him at his table. They spend the evening together and the kiss goodnight was filled with promise.
This is a great steamy, hot contemporary romance with wonderful characters. The characters are well crafted with strengths and weaknesses. They pull you into the story and make you want them to be happy. This book is an emotional rollercoaster that takes you along for the ride. The characters need to overcome their internal struggles especially fear and post traumatic stress syndrome. It was interesting to see how they learned to cope with their foibles and make changes as the story progresses. I particularly enjoyed the chemistry and dialogue between the two main characters. The intimate scenes were well done and steamy hot. I felt they fit well into the storyline. This is a hot contemporary romance that pulls at your heart strings.
