They promise each other they won’t let it get weird. But they do. And it does… willing to use against her. Surely marrying the guy in the photo—her best friend, the only stable force in her life—will solve the problem…right?
Malone DuMar’s luck hasn’t been any better than Nomi’s. He’s not looking for a wife, not after his ex-fiancée stole his company. But Nomi has always been the one person he could count on. There’s no way he’s going to turn his back on her when she needs him the most.
It’s a simple plan. Only pretend. That’s what they told themselves, anyway. But that was before they realized their friendship was on the line if their marriage of convenience went south. Before the kiss that changed everything…

I enjoyed reading Nomi and Malone’s story. A quick entertaining afternoon read.
They’re best friends who will help each other no matter what, but when it leads to marriage can they admit what they feel for each other is really just friendship? Good, clean story with a surprise ending.
Perfect way to start a marriage.
Great read !

A fake husband to get life back on track?
Fake Marriage to her Best Friend by Kacy Cross played in my head like a Hallmark movie would do on my tv screen. I loved it, and since it’s short, that makes it even better deal. I found it easy to come back to after a morning of housework, and it was perfect for doing that.
Nomi Hannon
Nomi Hannon is the female main character and the one we follow in some chapters of the book. She is a lawyer who is trying to remake herself so that people will forget her twin brother and the reason why he is in jail. That is a tall order for someone who is trying to be elected to the city council and with a nasty opponent. Instead, her friends, especially one that is a love advice guru, suggest marrying Malone. Supposed to be easy right? Nope. She is in a world of trouble, especially when feelings come into play that shouldn’t be there for her solid oak beam of a friend that she wants to be in her life forever.
The things I like about Nomi is that she tries to keep impersonal because she knows Malone as well she knows herself. Malone doesn’t do relationships or feelings. Nomi seems to be a great lawyer, but she doesn’t bring that into her everyday life. The one thing that I dislike about her is that she knows that Malone doesn’t do touchy-feely, but she might have been had it all wrong. Well, at least the wanting to be with Malone part.
Malone DuMar
Malone DuMar is the male main character and the one we follow in some chapters or scenes of the book. He is a great character that got his heart broken and can’t seem to move forward. Malone is an inventor who had somethings go wrong with his ex-fiancé Camille, and his business venture. After that, he has chosen to close off and doesn’t want anything to do with feelings. Well, that is until Nomi. It’s with her that he thinks that he does deserve it even if it might be a bit hard to admit.
Do I, Malone DuMar, deserve a good love life with the woman I love? Or do I deserve to cut her off as I did with my inventor’s brain? Those are the two questions that Malone has to figure out for himself. Along with if he wants to go back to inventing.
The things that I like about him is that he is a very passionate person, and Malone strives to live in the moment. For example: when Malone is working at Paulo’s being the pizza server than he does his best at being a pizza server. The one thing that Malone works the most for is being the best fake husband he can for Nomi, which scares him. The idea that I dislike about him is that he won’t talk about Camille so that Nomi or anyone else would hurt him in that way. However, without knowing what hurt him, they won’t know what not to do or how to help him.
Five Stars
Fake Marriage to her Best Friend by Kacy Cross is a wonderfully romantic read. Ms. Cross has a way with her words that make it seem like a video is playing in my head while I was reading her book. I could picture the characters, their lives in Texas, and where they worked. It was fantastic, and I was able to finish it quickly, which is another plus on its side. I am giving this book five stars since it was tender and delightful.
I am recommending this book to all romance readers of any variety out there. This book is a sweet and clean romance.

I read this book as a part of the Sweet & Sassy Anthology. It is my first book by this author.
I really enjoyed it. It was an easy read that kept me captivated. I enjoyed the characters Nomi and Malone. Nomi was trying everything she could to overcome her past. Malone was her best friend who would have moved the moon to help her.
I loved how their friends thought there could be something more. Both Nomi and Malone struggled with their feelings – wanting their to be more, afraid what the other one was thinking and afraid of looking their friendship.
The final declaration of love at the end was beautifully written!! I was so happy with how the book ended. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author!
An anthology gives the reader a chance to meet new writers. Read a cluster of great stories. This sweet and sassy anthology does just that. Each story is heartfelt , funny, thought provoking and of course filled with love. There is definitely a theme to these stories. Each one in its own way question the past and the future. Do we let the past define who we are or do we let our past help us become who we hope to be. Definitely read this you will love it
A fun and sweet read. I was hooked from the beginning. I loved the characters, the banter and steamy chemistry. It’s an entertaining read.
“Don’t encourage her. I need a husband like I need a hole in the head. Actually, a hole in the head would be more pleasant.” “Because a man left a hole in your heart, and those didn’t heal.”
Friends that would do anything for one another…when the limits get tested…is it friendship or has more been there all along?
“The tight little ball in her stomach might be jealousy, but she’d lie under oath if anyone said so.”
This was a quick, fun, light hearted read that was witty, loyalty filled and had an unexpected twist sprinkled into it.

Typical marry your best friend story. Try at being best friends who marry to gain something. Realize they love each other. Bam happy ever after. Cliche? Yes. But the journey was fun.
Good book, just finished reading it, easy to read, quick to read, picked up my interest right from the beginning. Would read more by this author.
Marriage of convenience turns to self reflection.
I liked this book because it was a love story without the crude sex scenes and talk.
It’s a fun read!
It was very entertaining. I couldn’t put it down.
“Fake Marriage to Her Best Friend” (nook) is a fun, light-hearted, easy read. I chuckled frequently as Nomi’s and Malone’s relationship evolved. Their path to love wasn’t easy but was successful because they looked inside themselves. All ended happily.
A sweet romantic story!
Nomi & Malone are interesting characters whose personal experiences have caused them to build walls that must come down. Author captures their individual confusion as the work to be able to trust and believe in each other.
