There’s no emotion greater than fear.
No ache greater than grief.
No sound greater than silence.
***
I’m grateful he … sound greater than silence.
***
I’m grateful he showed up on my doorstep,
pissed off and angry at the world.
If he hadn’t, I wouldn’t be here.
And I don’t just mean here on this journey with him.
I mean here, in this world.

I wonder what events in all our lives—hers included—are The Turning Points? The points where we all determine that the fear of our pasts and the uncertainty of our futures are greater than our need for happiness.
Here.
Now.
While time and everything around us stands unmoving… who’s to say we can’t have it all?
***
We wanted it all.
We wanted it with each other.
We thrived on the chaos we created.
And ignored the Mayhem that ensued.
Because falling in love was easy.
But sometimes, love isn’t enough.

I was a little disappointed upon starting this book, I was hoping to be reading Dylan and Heidi’s story and it appeared that wasn’t the case. If this is you…KEEP READING! It’s not Dylan and Heidi’s story but it’s probably the best story in the whole series! It IS Dylan’s story…and you WILL see what happened to Heidi, so it’s not the total bummer I thought it was going to be.
This story is SO powerful. It’s not just one member of the couple who has tragedy to overcome and obstacles the face. Both are fighting their own demons and must learn to be there for each other and allow the other to be there for them. It’s difficult to open yourself up to love after you’ve been hurt so deeply and it’s something that people need to do in order to grow and move on. This book shows that so eloquently.
You will cry, I don’t want to give details, but it is sad, but at the end you will be happy and possibly wanting more…if you’re anything like me that is. I would love to see a story about Tristan. I would also love to see, perhaps, an update book that tells us where they all are maybe 10 years from now? I just really connected with all of the characters throughout the series and I wanted it to keep going on forever.
It’s no surprise if you’ve read the reviews for MORE THAN ENOUGH that the heroine is not who you’ve expected it to be. (Please stop reading if you don’t want it spoiled…you’ve been warned). Honestly at first I thought it odd because I assumed that all the friends were going to be paired off with each other. I thought I was going to be mad, but once the story unfolded and Dylan explained his relationship and feelings for Heidi, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. So much happened in this book that when I checked to see where I was, I wasn’t even at the half way mark yet. I had no idea where the rest of the story would go but quickly found out that things were going to get real- real ugly, real bad, and real fast. Dylan was there to bring Riley back to the world but after he suffers a devastating loss, he does nothing but push Riley and those he loves away. My heart hurt for her so bad during those scenes. This was a beautiful story and a great ending to this series.

Copy kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
Another wonderful instalment in this series from Jay McLean. I don’t think I will ever get enough of her books. She hooks you right with the prologue in this one, and boy was it a big thing, leaving me like, what on earth just happened?!?!
Dylan and Riley are really great together, and whilst initially there are more struggles for Riley, they both end up going through quite a lot. I adored Dylan. He’s everything I never expected, and probably my favourite after Logan in this series.
I was cruising along happily reading, and then I realised, oh boy, there’s way too much of this book left for things to be this easy. And when the big stuff happened …. hoooooo boy! I was just hoping and hoping these two could pull it together.
Our wonderful couples from the other books are in this, along with some family members and other secondary characters who really add to the story nicely. I still love drunk Lucy too haha.
Love this world that Jay McLean has created. Its the kind of series that whenever you get a new book (yay for more coming in 2021!) or if you ever do a re-read, that it will be just like coming home. And whilst yes, this is only my first read of this series, I can say that honestly, because the power of the writing in this series just drags you in and makes you fall in love with all the characters.
Highly recommend (but must read them in order).
Dylan and Riley met at a time that Riley was barely existing. She had been through something that broke her. Then Dylan Banks showed up and, in that moment, these broken people began to form a connection that would save them both.
Dylan has been a quiet force in the previous books in this series but when he barrels into Riley’s life something inside of him feels the pull he and Riley have and Dylan becomes the best version of himself. Riley was full of grief, devastation, and pain that went straight to my heart and shattered it.
She locked herself away from the world until the moment Dylan showed up and her healing started not immediately or even overnight but it was clear that the two of them came into each other’s lives at a time that they both needed it.
As always with Jay McLean’s writing you are immediately pulled into the world she created and she takes you on a journey with the characters as if you are right there with them. Their happiest moments make your heart flutter while their moments of pain bleed from the pages straight into your heart.
The More Than group will always be one of my top “book friends” groups. The bond they share, the dynamic and hilarious witty banter is as entertaining as it is heartfelt. I wish everyone had friends like these.
She has an ability to write a story that’s easy to place yourself in the characters are just a group of regular people, living their lives, and sometimes our lives are dealt hard blows of emotional devastation and the only way to find your way to happiness is to break first.
The first time I read this series was 5 ½ years ago, before I knew the importance of writing reviews. The More Than series to this day is still one of my ALL-TIME favorites. This isn’t just a series you read, this is a series that will take your breath away, break you then weave you back together again.
Holy moly Dylan is an incredible man, and man did Heidi do him wrong. I never really liked them together though and Riley was made for him.
This story will break you heart in so many ways. I cannot even begin to imagine how much Riley is suffering and how she is just enabled to continue to wallow in her grief and anger is infuriating. She needed someone to be willing to pull her from her darkness. This book is incredible on audio and I cannot recommend it enough.
I love this group of friends so much so glad I finally got the chance to go back and read (or listen) to them all.
I fell in love when he professed his love and when mayhem ensued. That moment of seeing him being a “heart and soul” man in its most beautiful form, will most likely have you in tears. And the mayhem…I promise it is the best. The stakes are high and the retaliation are even higher.
And then I fell into forever when he overcame it all. The fear especially. Because when they overcame all the angst, hurt, loss, and most of all FEAR. So did I. I knew I would love them into the sunset. The Horizon. It was the biggest turning point. They were meant for each other. Through anything and everything.
And as for “she.” Well SHE will set your world on fire and make you believe in love and second chances again. She will be the chaos and mayhem that he needs. She will find the strength from within. To be more than enough.
5+ stars!
WOW! I did not think I could love a couple more after reading Lucy and Cameron’s story in More than Forever but Jay McLean did it again! She has written a stunning, emotional impacting story with More than Enough. These characters touched my soul so deeply. My heart ached for this couple. My heart was again put through the ringer which seems to be a common thing with every book in this series but I keep going back like I need my next fix because Jay McLean’s writing is that good. Such powerful, complex, dynamic characters and such beautiful, intense, emotional scenes. Dylan is the strong silent type. I have been curious about him and wanting to know more of him from the previous book in this series. I did not expect all that he was to blow me away the he did. He is in the military. He has seen so much pain, loss, violence and tragedy. He is a survivor. I won’t say anything about the heroine except that she is Dylan’s PERFECT match and another incredible, powerful heroine. She is Dylan’s strength when he needs it most. Their connection is deep and after all that these characters face there is so much love, healing and devotion to one another. As always the friendship and love among their group is huge and of course they are back with more Mayhem! More than Enough was an incredible end to a more than incredible series that will stick with me for a LONG time to come.
Jay McLean has out done herself with More than Enough. This is the 5th and final book in the More Than series. I’m sad to see the end of this series but it was the perfect ending.
More than Enough is Dylan’s story and his heartbreaking journey. We didn’t know Dylan that well before this book. He was always the silent loyal one in the group. In this book not only do we get to know Dylan but we fall in love with him. Dylan is a Marine in Afghanistan when the book starts and when everything changed in the blink of an eye Dylan changes.
Sometimes things happen in life that we don’t understand. Sometimes the worst moments can bring us to where we are supposed to be. Sometimes the smallest moments can bring us our greatest joys. Follow the music it might lead you to your happy ending.
Thank you Jay McLean I have laughed and cried with this group of amazing characters that you made us all love. I will miss them and their mayhem.
“We thrived on the chaos we created. And ignored the mayhem that ensued. Because falling in love was easy. But sometimes, love isn’t enough.”
Dylan is home, but what is home anymore? He’s changed and not sure what’s real or right in the world. While battling the demons in his own head, he finds himself thrown into the presence of a familiar girl. She’s struggling to get through the day and he’s not willing to admit to anyone else that he’s broken. Together, they are a mess. They’re one beautifully broken mess. They just might be able to have it all. Or maybe, they will have to sit back and watch the wreckage fall over them from their tainted pasts. Either way, they are now more determined than ever to do it together.
“We breathe through the pain, apart but together, and we hold each other. We hold on to the only thing that makes sense in an otherwise messed-up world and we allow ourselves to hurt and to grieve and to love and to forgive. We watch the sun move across the sky, feel the wind envelop us. And we keep close the chaos and the truth that releases it.”
I love Dylan. The books that came before didn’t give you much in the way of what to expect out of this main character. He’s intense, and surprisingly vocal this time around. Sure, he’s still the strong silent type with just about everyone else but getting to see the romantic side of Dylan Banks is amazing. There is so much growth and maturity in his story, and he does a lot of learning. He learns about war, about life and about love.
“I guess, if you take away my pride, I just wanted her. How ever she’d have me.”
The leading lady. Whew. Let me get my feels together. I may have a new favorite more woman. She’s becomes a fighter. She has a lot of hurt to overcome, a lot of regrets and grief but she’s beautiful on the inside. Well, she’s beautiful on the outside too but her inner beauty is what makes you relate to her. Her inner beauty is what has you rooting for her, laughing at her attitude and crying when she’s upset. She’s perfect.
“You’ll always be the boy who changed my course in life. The one who changed ME. The one who gave me a reason to look for something more than just the ‘enough’ I was struggling to get through.”
This book was not at all what I expected it to be, let’s start there. I’m not sure why I thought that McLean might let Dylan’s story be fluffy and sweet. It was not. This book is raw, real and rough. It’s gripping and intense. The love story isn’t pretty or easy, it’s emotional and jarring. You will feel, man will you feel. All the feels. You won’t throw your e-reader in frustration, you’ll hold it tightly to your chest while you cry. There will be moments where you struggle to breathe, and your heart will break for your MC’s over and over again. It’s not going to be easy, but it’s beautiful. It’s so worth it. Who cares about the ending with a journey as intense as this? Of course you want the happily ever after, you crave it but I didn’t want this book to end. I would have happily stayed woven in this web forever. That might sound crazy, and I’m not suggesting that the story needed to be longer. It was plenty long, and there was lots of closure. The ending was as great as the rest of the story, that’s why I would have kept right on reading. Possibly forever. I didn’t just enjoy this novel, I adored it. I love it.
To describe this book is a long long way to go! I loved it from beginning until end. I already loved Dylan in the first books of this series but fell for him even more. Even though I liked him with Heidi, I loved him with Riley.
The emotions and rollercoaster they both had to go through, you could feel it in the way the author wrote it out in the book. You just couldn’t help but feel. We can all relate to it somehow. I know I felt it in a deep way…
I didn’t have read a Jay McLean book in a long while but as soon as I started More Than Enough I remembered why she’s one of my favourite author.
Her words are so easy to read but they have the power to break your soul and put it together like glue.
I missed the more gang so much and i was glad to see them once again in this story.
I don’t know why I didn’t read this story sooner but I think this was the right time to know more and better Dylan.
I’ll be Team Silence forever…I hope to find a person who will make me feel more than enough sooner or later.
