It’s time I stop letting fear control me.For over a decade, I dedicated my life to raising our children and being the perfect housewife. But it wasn’t enough. My husband, the man who claimed to love me and promised me forever, needed more. He needed others. Instead of leaving, I turned a blind eye. I smiled. I remained faithful. I stayed for my children, and for the promise I made—for better or … the promise I made—for better or worse.
But there comes a time when something happens, when bruises are discovered, and you realize staying is more dangerous than leaving. That’s when nothing—not the fear of the unknown or being nothing without him—can hold you back.
That’s when you fight. You say . . . enough is enough. Because no one has more strength, more devotion, and more courage than a mother defending her young.
A mother who is more than enough.

Wow, just wow, a single Mother romance that grabs you by the heart and drags you right through the story by it! This was a quick read that kept me on my toes waiting for the next page to come. Naomi is a woman with a mission, and that mission is to take care of her children. She is willing to walk through fire, go to the ends of the earth and yes, even threaten them with her “cool” dance skills to do so. In walks Gabe, the gruff alpha who wants to make it HIS mission to take care of all of them, and boy oh boy does he.
More than Enough is a amazing read that evolves a woman’s inner strength, her children’s love and with the help of a tempting man, a happily ever after. A contemporary read and romance, I think many readers will find themselves smiling through-out this book, and even more so at the end of it. When a character you know you don’t like, and isn’t a good person get’s what coming to them, all you want to do is throw your fist in the air and say “Suck it!” You will soon find out who this is, and have that moment all on your own.
M.L has taken a story, threw in all the parts you want to see in it, added in strength of character, some good ole fashion humor and some awesome “sexy time.” and given it to us in this story!
Oh my gosh! What a freaking wonderful read! I loved absolutely everything about this book!
When Naomi’s marriage hits its final stress point, she’s done. It’s time for her to pick herself up and concentrate on her and protecting her children. After years of marriage and being unemployed, it’s a scary step to take but a necessary one. But a woman and mother has to do what needs to be done and Naomi learns that she’s strong enough to face an uncertain future.
”I have a job that provides.
I am a woman who is strong.
I am courageous.
No man can ever make me feel less, ever again.
For that reason, sleeping in on a Saturday morning means no worries. It means peace. It means serenity, and the ability to revere in the little things in life without fear. Like every one since the moment I realized I AM ENOUGH without Edward, and that he doesn’t define me or my worth…”
I’m always about the hero and if there’s a good heroine thrown into the mix, I’m a happy camper. But holy heck, I absolutely adored Naomi! My gosh, for a fictional character, she inspired me and continued to do so throughout this story. No doubt about it, this heroine is my top favorite heroine…ever! That’s just how much I loved her.
While Naomi definitely steals the show, the fact that the hero, Gabe, is one delicious alpha in so many spectacular ways, amped up what was already a great book. He not only served to highlight Naomi’s strengths, he loved them, encouraged them, and tended to push her just to see her in all her glory. I got such a kick out of his egging her on at times. And holy cheese and crackers, he was the type of hero that checks every single one of my boxes!
”Rough around the edges with a heart of gold.
He commands and protects.
He’s gruff, yet gentle.”
Together, this couple made this book one that will shine bright in my memory for a long time. Their chemistry was completely believable even as it sizzled across the pages. This is a relatively fast read and although there is certainly insta-attraction between them, it never has that over the top feel to it. Both characters are so well developed I felt like I’d known them my whole life. Really, I could just go on and on.
I’m kicking myself for letting this book sit alone in a corner of my KU library, not realizing what a wonderful story lay within its pages. I cannot recommend this book enough. Seriously, I’m just that totally in love with it.

This was one of the most unique and original romance books I’ve read this year. I’m used to the common tropes and themes so this ended up being an unexpected surprise! ML just got everything right at every step.

Naomi and Gabe were just so perfect for each other. Naomi’s courage and strength was exemplified as a mom and as a character. I loved the lack of the victim mentality she had. I adored her sassy ways that Gabe took as challenges. Gabe was worthy of every bit of Naomi’s attention and love. He was an alpha who was not only protective dirty-talker and everything to Naomi, but just as a charmer with her kids.
From the original plot, character depth, and the sexy dirty talk, you can’t help but swooon over this book.
This isn’t my first book by M.L. Rodriguez, but my first one in this series. More Than Enough can really be read as a standalone, so I don’t felt like I was missing big chunks of the story. This novella definitely makes me want to go pick up the other books! Novellas can be tricky, because being shorter than normal novels stories can feel rushed or incomplete. That’s not the case with More Than Enough at all! Everything felt right and even the jumps a bit in time were smooth.
More Than Enough is an emotional story though. Naomi has been in a marriage that has made her unhappy and even scared at times for her kids and the name of her family. Until one day it’s just too much and she refuses to let a man hurt her and her kids. I can’t get so upset when stuff like that happens, especially the way her mother treated her.
Naomi is a strong woman once she finds her own voice. She is a rock for her kids and finds out what she wants. It’s clear she’s starting to be herself again and happy. Naomi doesn’t need a man to complete her life, but when an amazing one comes along, well, she can’t pass that up.
Gabe didn’t have a great marriage and while he’s still sorting that out he meets Naomi (who just happens to be living in his house). Her feisty attitude pulled him in and he couldn’t let go. I think Gabe has made a permanent spot on my book boyfriend list. Gabe is kind, gentle and also finding out what it’s like to care so much for someone. I love how involved he gets with her kids.
More Than Enough is an amazing story. It’s filled with a woman who has found her strength, but doesn’t mind leaning on the man she loves once she’s with him. She could take on the world if it was to protect herself or her family. On top of a lot of emotion, this story is filled with family and love. Add some humor and steamy moments and this story turned out great. Even though I wouldn’t mind more, the epilogue gave this story the perfect happily ever after!
More Than Enough is book three in the La Flor Series by M.L. Rodriguez. This is my very first book by this author. It’s fairly short in length but definitely not in substance, complete with not one but two awesome epilogues. If I had to review this book with just one word, I would use the word, Empowering!”
“You are more than enough.”
Naomi was thirty two years old and a stay at home mom to her twin ten year olds. Her husband had strayed before, had shown his temper before, but she forgave him to keep their family together. His temper is getting worse, though. There are unexplained bruises on her son. And it seems that his cheating days are not over either. She is told that she needs to turn a blind eye. That men will be men. That her place is at home. No, just no. Enough is enough. Her place is as a protector to her children.
Gabriel Duval is serving his country and is living over seas. His wife also felt he wasn’t enough. After the divorce, Gabe is told he needs a leave of absence, so he’s sent home. Little did he know that his life was about to change, in the best of ways.
“For that smile, I’d move heaven and earth.”
Gabe feels the attraction from the start, even though he and Naomi’s first meeting was a little explosive! At first, he just watches her from a distance. Until she needs him, then he’s all in. Gabe doesn’t hesitate after that to let his intentions be known. With little touches, little whispers, he drives Naomi crazy.
“I finally understand why a man would turn his life upside down for a woman because I’m thinking of doing just that.”
I loved Naomi. This really is a story of empowerment. She went against everyone that told her that she wasn’t enough and did what she knew she had to do for both herself and her children. Gabe’s pursuit of her was so amazing. He was all possessive and protective. He loved the kids as much as he loved her. And you don’t even want to think about threatening what’s his!
I really did enjoy this. Even though it’s third in a series, you can easily read it as a stand alone as I did. I loved Gabe and was just so darn proud of Naomi.
From it’s dramatic start to its lovely epilogues, More than Enough is just that! Naomi’s character is descibed and developed in depth, and her thoughts provide us with detailed insight. What she feels, we feel. From the very beginning we see her need for order and total commitment to her family. Her battle to retain her sense of self worth in adversity and under stress, is completely relatable, and I loved her strength and her deeply caring nature.
As for Gabe! Well he is a knight in, initially, slightly rusty armour, which quickly gets its shine on! He too, has a nurturing and caring nature, wrapped up in a strong, intelligent, sensitive man. Can I order one please?
Written with ecomomy, which means the reader is carried along quickly, but not superficially, More than Enough is a very welcome introduction to a new for me author. I look forward to reading many more books from ML Rodriguez!
With each book this author writes I am more and more hooked on these characters stories. So Altho these are characters we don’t really know their story is compelling. My heart broke for Naomi and her kids in the beginning but as the story grew I became so proud of her. She had courage and integrity and stood up for what was right and showed her kids that it’s not ok to be a doormat.
When she meets Gabe he’s everything she’s wanted and needed. He gives her more reasons to be strong and feisty and to know it’s ok to be herself. I absolutely loved their journey and I cannot wait for more books in this series.
