I absolutely loved More Than Desire. This series by Rachel De Lune has been consistently fabulous to read and this instalment is no different. Rachel is an author who writes about real life stories with compassion and understanding and she writes them incredibly well. I cannot deny that it was the characters James and Ariana that made this story one that I adore.
James has moved to the other side of the world for a fresh start and isn’t looking to become romantically involved with anyone, especially as his time in Australia is limited. However, he didn’t expect to meet Ria who coincidentally is also trying to move on from a disastrous relationship. No matter how much they tried to ignore their initial attraction there was no way that they would have been able to stop themselves reacting to the chemistry that sizzled between them. I loved reading the scenes when they were together, it showed me just how perfect a couple they could be.
When I say that James and Ria made this story for me, let me try to explain why. What I loved was the instant attraction that they have for each other. There was no doubting the connection and sexual chemistry between them but they knew that starting a new relationship wasn’t what they had planned for themselves. In addition, Ria considered herself to have specific needs and I have the utmost respect and admiration for James because although he knew that he wouldn’t be able to meet those needs, he stayed true to himself and didn’t try to change – which ultimately would have made him uncomfortable and the relationship fail before it had a chance.
I knew instantly that I was going to love Ria. I hated everything that she had been through in her previous relationship but I admired the strength she showed which enabled her to talk to James (and others) about her feelings – plus I loved that she sought answers and reassurances regarding what she thought she needed.
Their differences regarding loving relationships was something that both James and Ria had to work through and I empathised and sympathised with them both throughout this book. I hoped that no matter what, they would always remember how perfect they could be together – remembering the happy, carefree and fun times that they shared when they were initially getting to know each other.
This story takes you on an amazing journey of love, discovery, sacrifice, compromise, consideration and communication. The passion between James and Ria is incredible and I absolutely loved being back in the company of those we have already met in this series. Plus, there is a visit to my favourite club… which I loved! I must mention at this point that More Than Desire is a perfect standalone read if you have chosen to read this book before the others in this series.
The author has once again penned a story that I couldn’t put down. James and Ria’s journey has been perfectly written and I am now wondering why it has taken me so long to read it. I’m kicking myself if I’m honest! I recommend this book without any hesitation and advise you not to wait as long as I have to enjoy this incredible story.
Aww this has left me feeling all warm and loved up.
James and Ariana’s story wasn’t one I was expecting from this series but it was one I enjoyed so very much. It’s good to connect with the characters from the other books while discovering new ones. It was a different kind of read to the others but one I found myself completely sucked into. There was a good mix of hot stuff, angst and love and the characters were totally believable in their actions and feeling, so much so that I felt as if I knew them personally. There is no other way for me to explain this story other than a stunningly beautiful journey between characters that you can’t help but feel for.
Whilst this could be read as a stand-alone I would advise reading the other books in this series first so that you get a greater understanding of everyone involved and James’ back story.
James and Ariannas story is a complicated mess with both not sure what they want. Being in Australia is james dream job but falling for the bosses daughter isn’t part of his plan he downey want a relationship after his last one. Arianna is avoiding relationships after the abusive last one she’s not sure what she wants anymore but can James be it or will her over protective dad spoil it all. This is a must read hot series that will have you wanting more and more. I can’t wait to read book 5 for more from this series. A must read I’d highly recommend to others.
I am so glad I got to read this book. I am really enjoying this series.
Though I love them, it was nice to step away for a little bit from Jess and Isabel and focus on someone who is not too main of a character in the other books. This book is about Jess’ brother James.
He has never liked to stay near home much and moving to Australia is about as far as he can get. He doe snot have a bad family, he just likes to explore and he definitely got to do that in this book.
Though he went for business, pleasure soon takes over after he meets the daughter of his boss. (Trust me that is not as cliche as it sounds). They get together for some fun, trying to keep things casual, but things soon heat up leaving them both wanting more.
As usual, I love reading Rachel De Lune books and have not been disappointed with her story lines.
R4R and purchased.
