Three best selling bully romance books. Three heroes hell bent on revenge. Three stories about love, revenge, and being more than a bully. BOOK ONE- THE BETMy former best friend. My first kiss. My first love. She shattered my heart into a million pieces three years ago. She left me right when I needed her most. And as fate will have it, she had entered my life once again, at almost the perfect … once again, at almost the perfect time.
She was a transfer, fresh meat, and she had just put a target on her back. It was my turn to make her pay. It was my turn to break her heart.
BOOK TWO-THE DARE
He used to be my best friend, my protector, but all of that changed one fateful night.
I made a choice, and I thought I did the right thing, but I was wrong, so wrong.
And as of yesterday that same boy, who is now very much a man became my new stepbrother, but that’s the least of my worries.
BOOK THREE-THE SECRET
While I’m the girl no one notices. Bullied. Antisocial. I have no friends and I like it that way.

We definitely shouldn’t be roommates.
That doesn’t stop him though.

Interesting collection of bully that sometimes goes too far
More Than A Bully is a collection of the first three books in the North Woods University series. There is The Bet, The Dare and the Secret. Each book is a bully romance but with different characters and a different story-line. As with most collections this one was a mix for me.
Based on the book description I thought The Bet would be something other than what it turned out to be. I mean the H, Remington, hated his former best friend, Jules, the h, so much that her life needed to be ruined. All the girl did was have to move away with her family when she was fifteen years old. Remington needed to get a grip, some major counseling for his obvious anger issues, and also a good kick up the azz. I did not like this book at all and thought the underlying premise was just plain stupid and immature.
The Dare is a stepbrother enemies-to-lovers romance, or at least it is supposed to be. Again the anger the H, Vance, is really abusive towards the h, Ava. He tried to attack her, publicly humiliated her, was threatening and derogatory to her and so much more. She just took it and kept going back for more. Vance needed some counseling for his behavior and to help him deal with and get past what happened between he and Ava during a game of Truth or Dare five years ago. There were repercussions from the dare that Ava chose which lead to things that neither could have foreseen. Now it is five years later and his father and her mother are getting married which puts the former best friends in the same house together. All Vance sees is red concerning Ava. For me this was not really a great story because I did not find a kernel of goodness in Vance. For me a enemies to lovers romance needs the bad person to have at least a bit of a redeeming quality. Vance was just too dark for my tastes to have the ending that he got.
Reading The Secret drove me nuts because of the proofreading errors in it. It could also use a good editor to ensure the details match during the story. However, the story-line of Clark and Emerson was interesting and held a lot of promise. Emerson was a young woman who was struggling to make it day to day. She had isolated herself, had anxiety attacks and nightmares and was frightened of something. Clark is the university jock that everyone loves. He loves the ladies and they love him to no end. Emerson is sent to live with Clark while she is in university and they form a very tight and intense friendship. The friendship blossoms into more but not everything goes smoothly. They were good with each other and helped each other to grow and change in ways that were substantial. I found the story-line of The Secret the most compelling out of the three books in this collection. It was a bit OTT and contrived at times but it was also emotionally deep and raw at times. I would say that The Secret was the best book of the three in this collection for me.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
The Bet: A Dark Bully Romance (North Woods University Book 1)
What a powerful story, it pulls at your emotions. I don’t cry often but this story brought years to my eyes multiple time. Very well written, believable characters that you can love, gate, or love to hate. I can see so many more stories that can be written about his brothers real or frat. Also here roommates have stories to tell. A great read.
The Dare: A Stepbrother Bully Romance (North Woods University Book 2)
Lies were told, friendships lost, split families, broken hearts and a plan for revenge, this only the beginning. It is action packed with a great story and great cast of characters, that you hope will have their own story told. Beck is a very talented author who writes believable characters that draw you into the story and you cannot stop reading. Pulls on your emotions and you hope that the cause gets their comeuppance.
The Secret: A Friends to Lovers Romance (North Woods University Book 3)
This is my favorite book so far in this series and by this author. I cannot wait to read the next book. This book pulls you in and makes you feels as the characters do and it made me feel like I was there with them and knew them. This book hits home and makes me wish there was a Luke for all of us as well as a Clarke.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Bet:
Jules and Remmy were together when they were young until she moved away. Three years later she’s back and he’s still mad at her for leaving him. Like it was her fault she moved, she was just a kid. I must admit that I’m having a hard time with this one because I wanted so bad to like Remmy but the assault really hit hard. I like that in the end he redeemed himself but for me, it didn’t make what happened better.
The Dare:
Vance and Ava met when they were very little but something happened and completely changed their relationship. Years later they became step siblings when her mother married his father and life changed for them again. This book is filled with drama, angst, revenge, misunderstandings, betrayal and twists that left me wanting to know more.
The Secret:
Clark is a player and all the girls on campus want him but once he meets Emerson she’s all he wants. Emerson keeps to herself and just wants to make it through college but Clark is determined to be her protector. I loved Clark and Em, together because they brought out the best in each other. This book is filled with drama, angst, emotion and a beautiful slow burn romance.
