Over one million “likes”—but only one of them matters. After pop star Ryan De Luna praises Maisy Harrison’s YouTube cover of his classic hit, he offers Maisy and her fledgling band the opportunity of a lifetime: to be his opening act.Music may be Maisy’s life, but she has one ground rule: never date a musician. That goes double for a heartbreaker like Ryan. If only she didn’t feel so vulnerable to … didn’t feel so vulnerable to his larger-than-life charm. And maybe now more than ever, when he asks for her help to shake off his playboy image. How can she resist playing the part of his fake girlfriend for the duration of the tour?
Ryan’s never met anyone like Maisy. She sees past all the star-studded fame and treats him like any other guy. And the more time they spend together, the more he finds himself falling for her. Now he’d like to make their imaginary fling an IRL thing. But can he convince her to take a chance and trust him with her heart?

So, I immediately began reading this book seconds after finishing #Starstruck because I loved #Starstruck so much I just had to keep going with this series. And, I loved this book as much as I loved book 1. This series is seriously SO good! In #Moonstruck, we meet Maisy and Ryan who are both musicians. Ryan is at the top of his game performing to millions of hysterically screaming fans each night. Maisy and her band, however, have been at the music scene for quite a while but success hasn’t called yet. Ryan and Maisy meet one night after Maisy’s best friend takes her backstage after a Ryan De Luna concert and sparks between Maisy and Ryan fly … but not in the way you might think. The sparks are more angry and frustrated and not so much romantic. It’s actually kind of a funny scene. Maisy’s initial reaction to Ryan, and a YouTube video of Maisy performing one of his songs, is enough to pique Ryan’s interest. Not to mention he needs an opening act for his tour. Perfect opportunity for Ryan to get to know the woman who has actually caught his attention.
I recently learned about black moments in romance novels. Honestly, I always knew about these moments, I just didn’t know they were called black moments. Anyway, after reading about this plot technique I started to actually think about the romance novels I have loved the best; and, yes, the novels with the saddest, most heart-wrenching black moments are the books that remain the most memorable to me. I happened to read this article right when I was reading this book, so I was really paying attention to #Moonstruck’s plotline. In general, there are two causes for the black moment in a romance: either the hero does something dumb or selfish or his issues get in the way, or the heroine does something dumb or selfish or her issues get in the way. One of the things I liked the most about #Moonstruck is how good a guy Ryan is. He’s REALLY popular and pretty much wanted by everyone who sees him, BUT he doesn’t act like a stereotypical popular guy (at this point in his life anyway). Ryan is incredibly down-to-earth. He’s experienced quite a lot of life, including the traumatic death of his beloved mother, and it’s all of this that has made him into a good guy. Maisy has lived a lot of life too but she seems stuck in her sadness and grief, which has caused her to be pretty negative. I really liked the chemistry that develops over the course of the story between Maisy and Ryan. It feels natural and realistic. Ryan and Maisy are super cute together. But, I had this article in my head so I was waiting for the black moment. And, yes, there is a black moment. It’s a little depressing and heartbreaking, and I definitely wanted to have a serious sit-down with Maisy (that girl messes up big time), but I realized that my favorite romances aren’t my favorite because of the heart-breaking moments but because of what comes after — the everything-gets-fixed moment. The everything-gets-fixed moment is the BEST moment in a romance and the best moment in #Moonstruck.
I’m really loving the #Lovestruck series by Sariah Wilson, and highly recommend #Moonstruck. It’s highly engaging, super sweet, and very satisfying. If you’re in the need of a fun romance novel to escape into, definitely take a chance on #Moonstruck. You won’t be disappointed that you did.
I borrowed a copy of this novel in eBook form through my Kindle Unlimited subscription on June 17, 2021, in order to review. In no way has this influenced my review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Maisy Harrison grew up being taught to not trust men, she trusts her brothers implicitly but men in general not so much. When she ends up backstage at Ryan De Luna’s concert, she is more curious about his guitar then the singer. She has seen the tabloids on Ryan and doesn’t want anything to do with him. However Ryan ends up seeing Maisy’s cover of one of his songs on YouTube he wants to see her in person. Ryan offers her and her band a chance to tour with him. Maisy’s life is about to change and as she grows closer to Ryan she finds herself in danger of losing her heart. Can she trust the man who is quickly becoming important in her life?
This was wonderful. Loved every moment. I did have one outstanding question where Ryan’s cousin was concerned but overall thought the story was perfect.
I really enjoyed this swoony romance by Sariah Wilson. I couldn’t put it down; it held my attention from the start and I loved the chemistry between Maisy and Ryan. Ryan was such a great hero, he’s got a playboy past, but he’s changed and I love the connection he and Maisy share and how they come together. The music video filming scenes were AMAZING, talk about serious swoon! I love that this is a clean romance that never crossed any lines, but definitely delivers all the feels. I also liked that Maisy had her own stumbling blocks to overcome and the way the two both grew throughout the story.
I am loving this series. It’s refreshing to read romance that’s not all about sex. I like that there are even more new adult romance books that have main characters who are choosing to wait. It’s great to have those role models for our young women to look to in current literature. What’s maybe even better is the males in the series who respect these women’s boundaries and don’t make them feel bad or weird for setting them. I just find this to be a very positive series for young people to read.
I like that both MCs have ambitions and not only follow them, but encourage each other in their aspirations and goals. That’s what a true relationship should be like. I also like that both characters are flawed and make mistakes, but own up to them and apologize. There’s a lot to be said for forgiveness and humbleness in this book.
I’m definitely going to continue reading Sariah Wilson.
This was just fun! I was a little worried, second books are hard, especially when the first book was so good. I really planned on not liking it as much so it took me a little bit to get into it. I really enjoyed reading Ryan and Maisy’s story. Too real people with real issues. She doesn’t make them cookie cutter perfect and that was fun. It is a little unbelievable but in a take you away from reality way not a role your eyes way:} This is for older teens and adults in my opinion. There is talk of sex but Maisy has decided to stay chaste till marriage because of what she has dealt with in life. I am glad there are authors who write this way ,as this is a real thing that does happen and if more people took this approach I think there would be a little less chaos in the world. There is some explosive kisses and some great tension.
LOVE this series!! Amazing!!
Super fun romance. I enjoyed this story a bunch! Ryan is a sweet heart, despite being a music heartthrob. Maisy has a bunch of baggage, but is a want-to-be serious musician fortunate enough to have a band with her 3 brothers. Most of the story is believable, it’s sweet, romantic and very entertaining. The agreement between Ryan and Maisy is a bit clumsy in how it develops and the fake relationship isn’t that well done. Regardless, the brothers are an awesome bunch. They are torn between wanting to go on tour, their first opportunity, and protecting their sister. I thought they were wonderful characters and I wish they’d get their own books and we could follow Maisy and Ryan a bit more. The book ended a little abruptly where one more chapter or an epilogue would have been nice. Still, I don’t read much about musicians and I really enjoyed that aspect. Maisy and Ryan’s love and devotion to their craft is excellently played. I would read more by this author. I have not read book 1 and I don’t thing that mattered at all. In fact I’m not sure that the books tie together at all.
I was surprised that this was my favorite of all the #lovestruck novels. I was the female front guitarist and singer in a band several years ago and inwardly rolled my eyes at the thought of reading about it in a romance novel. Love story with a musician? Pssht. Yeah right. Guys with guitars didn’t impress me one bit. I think that’s why I must have felt something of a kindred spirit with the main character Maisy. I loved #Starstuck so much I had to read this one. I think I was the reluctant lover of the book the way the main character was the reluctant lover of Ryan De Luna. I couldn’t resist it. I absolutely loved it. So much so, I am listening to it again on Audible. I won’t tell you why I loved it. You have to find that out for yourself when you read it and discover the reasons why you fall in love with this book in your own way.
Maisy Harrison has one life rule… never date a musician. She has her father to thank for it. He was too busy being a jerk and making babies to actually care for the kids he already had. She doesn’t have any problems keeping that rule. Well… that was until she met the gorgeous, playboy Ryan De Luna. It would be in everyone’s best interest to stay far, far away from that man.
From the moment Ryan first met Maisy, he knew she was something special. Not only was she not afraid to speak her mind about what she really thought of him, but she actually saw him as a real person… not some rich playboy that everyone else saw. And if that wasn’t enough to hook him, listening to her sing a cover of one of his songs would definitely do it. Not only is she feisty and beautiful but she’s talented and smart.
When the opportunity arises for Maisy and her brothers’ band, Yesterday, to be the opening act on Ryan’s Moonstruck tour, they would be crazy to pass it up. This may be the break they have been waiting for.
While touring together, Ryan confides in Maisy that in order for him to start making the kind of music he wants to make, he first needs to clean up his image and prove to his record label that he’s matured. But in order for that to happen, he’s going to need Maisy’s help. Nothing too crazy… they just need to have a fake relationship.
Wait. What?! A fake relationship? Doesn’t he know how dangerous that is?! Does he not feel the explosive chemistry between them?! Maisy will just have to be extra careful and guard her heart. But somewhere along the way it went from being fake to real for Maisy. With her feelings for Ryan growing, she knows she needs to be extra careful because he has the power to crush her heart. But what she doesn’t see or realize is that she, too, has the power to crush his heart.
Just as Maisy puts her trust and future in Ryan’s hands, his past comes knocking… literally. Will they be able to stay strong together? Or will Maisy’s past experiences have her running at the first sign of trouble? One thing’s for sure. They will both need to do some serious soul searching if they’re ever going to have a HEA.
*dreamy sigh*
Oh how I loved this book! I found myself reading it every chance I could! I may or may not have lost track of time on several occasions and may or may not have been late for a few things. But y’all… it was worth it! I couldn’t get enough of this book! I adored Maisy and Ryan! I loved seeing their relationship develop and felt like I had a front row seat watching them fall in love. There were definitely some extremely swoony moments that had me fanning myself more than I already was due to this heatwave we’re currently having in my area. These two were absolutely perfect for each other!
And while I loved most of the side characters, I have to admit that at times a couple of them bugged the crap out of me! Maybe it’s because I don’t have any older brothers but I wanted to Gibbs slap Fitz more than once. And what in the world was all that with Diego?! He was nice and funny at the beginning of the book and then turned cold and jerky while on tour. We never did get to find out what crawled up his butt and died. *le sigh* Oh well. At least we had lots of Maisy and Ryan! 😉 Hehe.
If you’re looking for a fun and swoony break from reality then I highly recommend you check out this series! I am loving it! I can’t wait for the next book to be released!
Ms. Wilson is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I have enjoyed all the books I’ve read so far! Looking forward to reading more by her!
I loved this book. Maisey is a badass character . I read this book in a couple hours . If you like badass female characters you will like this book
I have really enjoyed reading the #Lovestruck Series and I can’t wait for the next book. These are what I consider clean love stories. Maisy is in a band with her 3 brothers and encounter Rockstar Ryan De Luca. She has no interest in falling for a musician. She has a tight relationship with her brothers (bandmates) and Ryan is thrown by the fact that Maisy is not a typical groupie vying for his attention. Hold on to your book, because this is a page-turner! I loved it.
Second book in the series. Worth the read, total love for this book couple!
I am absolutely blown away by Moonstruck! This book is not a cheesy romantic piece of fluff which I ocasionally enjoy. Instead, Sariah Wilson has capitalized on a plot with a complex story about relationships. She also shows through her story telling that sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone in order to take a chance on happiness. Happily ever after is never guaranteed when you risk your heart but the rewards can be lasting love!
Wow! I loved this story!
This is the first story I read about a famous singer and it was awesome!
Maisy’s life is music. She and her 3 brothers have a band and are struggling to get off their feet, while providing for their mother who is at an asylum after being brain injured after a car accident. Ryan is a famous -really famous- rockstar who’s touring the States. Maisy gets to know him through her best friend and sparks fly but in an antagonistic way, at least for Maisy… I won’t spoil the story by letting you know what happens… The important thing is that Maisy has a very important rule, based on her father’s sad experience of abandonment, which is: never date a musician! Will she be able to live by her own rule?… you’ll have to find out!
The story is realistic and relatable. There are hard issues addressed and how the protagonists deal with them. Sariah has a very deep way in getting you through the characters feelings, it is very emotional. The romance is clean, though a bit sensual for my taste. But the love that grows between Ryan and Maisy is strong and tried by a few obstacles.
I really recommend this book, it will keep you captivated!
I received a copy of this book from Mountainlake Romance. My review is voluntary and all opinions are my own.
Moonstruck was a fun and enjoyable read! I will definitely read other books by Sariah Wilson!
There’s nothing better than a super-hot, super-talented musician who has his eyes on you. The only thing you have standing in the way is your “don’t date musicians” rule. I love the musicians trope, especially the behind-the-scenes stuff. It’s fascinating to me. Maisy’s story was crazy, but I loved how much love was between her and her brothers. The banter was fun to read too.
I am totally loving Sarah Wilson’s brand of romance. She makes me swoon, laugh and feel everything g the characters feel. With all forms of romance being my reading preference, her stories and characters are breathtakingly fresh. Her story telling is clean like a YA but still manages to encompass all the passion and heat I would expect from a contemporary or new adult romance…while still keeping it focused on the sexual and emotional connection for the characters without sex taking away the focus of their story.
In #Moonstruck, she gives us Maisy Harrison, a feisty and sassy lead singer in a band with her very overprotective, girl crazy brothers. She lives and breathes her music and has dreams of being able to fulfill her dreams of having a successful band.
We also meet, Ryan De Luna, an über famous pop star with the typical pop star reputation. And when they first meet, its sparks and tension that event evolves into a great friendship and eventually love.
It was a beautiful story!
Moonstruck is book two in the Lovestruck series by Sariah Wilson. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, Starstruck, so I jumped at the chance to read this one. I won this in a Goodreads giveaway! This is my third book by this author. This is a stand alone. You do not need to have read the first book in this series in order to read this one.
Maisy Harrison is the only girl, the youngest with three older, very protective brothers. Maisy is lead singer and guitarist in a band with her brothers called Yesterday. Like her brothers, music is everything to her. They all hold daytime jobs since their music barely brings in any income. But everything changed the night her best friend got back stage passes to a Ryan De Luna concert.
Ryan is a mega star. He used to be known for his wild ways but in the recent years has really seemed to clean up his act. He dresses different, conducts himself differently, and his music seems to have matured. Not to mention the fact that he is about the best looking guy on the planet. But Maisy has a strict rule, she never ever dates musicians. She really doesn’t date at all. Her brothers make it pretty impossible. Maisy had an absentee father who was a musician and after seeing what he did to her mother all her life, she will never put herself through that. As a result, she is saving herself for marriage. Still, when she meets Ryan for the first time, there is some kind of chemical reaction between them. A zing that effects her from her head to her toes. All the more reason to keep her distance from Ryan De Luna.
“The attraction was so intense it was almost chemical. Like he had scientifically bewitched my hormones. Somehow I felt both hot and cold inside. Like ice and fire froze and burned through me at the same time, even though that was physically impossible.”
After seeing a YouTube video of Maisy’s band doing one of their songs, Ryan invited her band to go on tour with him as his opening act. It was everything they had ever dreamed of and would help them get out of a financial bind they were in.
Ryan was desperate to clean up his image and with the attraction that sizzled between he and Maisy, it would be so easy to convince the world that they were dating. So he asked her to be his fake girlfriend and she agreed. Only Ryan’s feelings were quickly becoming real and he sensed that Maisy’s were as well. He respected her wishes but he wanted more from her than a fake relationship. He wanted a real one.
“I had to stay strong. Remember my rules. Not fall in love. And never, no matter what I wanted, let him kiss me.”
As things progress with Ryan and Maisy, they both realize that what they have is special and wonderful. But Maisy is still hanging on to her old hurts from her father. Can she really move forward with Ryan when she hasn’t let go of the past?
“Sweetheart, do you know what happens when fire meets ice? Steam.”
This was a super sweet story of love and forgiveness. Maisy is so mature for her twenty-two years but still has so much to learn. This author has such a beautiful way of telling her stories. I like that even though the book is about Maisy and Ryan, we get a little hint of what is happening with two other couples as well. The entire book is told from Maisy’s point of view. My biggest complaint is that there is no epilogue. I really would have liked to walk away with a little glimpse into their future to see how things were going. I usually read books that are a lot more steamy but surprisingly enough, I didn’t really miss it here. Both books in this series are very enjoyable and if you are looking for a romance that doesn’t have sexy times in it, this is sure to please.
This was my first book from the author!
Another one rock star romance. This genre is starting to really grown on me!! Ryan De Luca is a rock/pop star, widely famous. Maisy Harrison, is a nobody in the music industry; she has a band with her brothers.
Maisy is seriously against dating musicians, after her father cheated at her mum and abandoned them. Ryan is exactly what she hates, or isn’t he? Even though she wants to hate him, she just can’t help being attracted to him.
After a series of events, Ryan offers Maisy’s band the opening act at his tour. The question here is: does he do it to get in her pants or is he genuinely believe that they are good? The answer is both! He respects her as a musician but he’s attracted to her as well. Except from the opening act, Ryan has another poposition for Maisy; to be his fake girlfriend in order to save his public image. If you didn’t figure it out yet, this is just an excuse, he’s just too coward to really ask her out! Despite all her rules, Maisy agrees. After all as Ryan said, rules are meant to be broken!
When Maisy had the allergic reaction and Ryan freaked out, he finally let his true feelings shine. However, he can’t resist to be a jerk after and ignore her (and they tell me that women are complicate!). I was genuinely happy for them until everything comes crashing down. I was seriously frustrated with Maisy, she was so unfair with him.
All in all, I really liked the book! It’s dramatic, steamy and sweet at times. I laughed so many times because of Maisy’s brothers and how overprotective they were of her! A very good rock star romance you should grab today!!
I am reviewing this ARC that I received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Oh my goodness- where do I start…
First, thank you for writing a book that is truly romantic without crossing over into steamy, smutty or erotic.
Second, thank you for giving me the opportunity to feel all of the wonderful “feels” with this book! I cried, laughed, was frustrated and completely shocked!
Lastly, thank you, Sariah Wilson, for such an awesome story!!!
