All those years of adolescent fantasies and this was how Bowie Bodine first touched my boobs. And he apologized. Real life was stupid and unfair.Small town deputy Cassidy Tucker’s dating life is a train wreck on repeat. All she ever wanted was a solid partner. A man to share pajamas with. The handsome, big-hearted Bowie Bodine. Wait. Scratch that. Mr. You’re-Like-a-Sister-to-Me is not welcome in … You’re-Like-a-Sister-to-Me is not welcome in her fantasies.
She and Bowie aren’t going to happen—that’s been clear for a long time—and as for the rest of mankind? Cassidy’s officially giving up on love and adopting cats. Good thing the cold case disappearance of Callie Kendall is heating up to keep her distracted. Except the investigation is testing her friendship with all the Bodines—Bowie in particular.
Bowie knows he can’t have his little sister’s best friend. He made a promise and he’s determined to keep it. But putting distance between them isn’t easy—not when she lives right next door.
Having her poke around trying to prove his father’s guilt isn’t helping either. All Bowie has ever wanted is to shed the No-Good Bodine reputation. It’s looking like he’ll never be free of that shadow.
But one nocturnal animal, a feverish against-the-wall kiss, and absolutely zero pajamas has a way of changing everything.more
Three words: Worth. The. Wait.
I’ve been waiting for Bowie and Cassidy since Book 1 and this did not disappoint. The whole combination of friends-to-lovers with best friend’s big brother just works for me. These two are super well matched and there’s plenty of hilarity and Bootleg Justice to go around.
Can’t wait for June’s book!
Bootleg Springs is my favorite place to be! I adore the Bodine family and all the craziness that the family and their town brings. Moonshine Kiss is by far my absolute favorite of the series! With every single book in the series, the story gets more intriguing and we get closer to finding out what happened to Callie Kendall and what roll the Bodine family really played in it, if any (I have a feeling I figured it out…)
Moonshine Kiss is truly a second chance romance at its finest. Lucy Score and Claire Kingsley tell the story of Bowie Bodine and Cassidy Tucker’s relationship (or lack thereof) with such emotion, you feel like you yourself are in their shoes. The feeling of being let down by that one special person, but yet not really ever being able to let them go for good. The give and take, the push and pull, the realization that you were truly meant to be with a TON of ups and downs…whew! What an amazing love story it was!
The friends who become family and the town that takes care of their own makes makes Bootleg Springs a place you’re going to want to visit over and over again. I know I do and I look forward to the next book in the series.
Lucy Score is a ROCKSTAR in the world of romance! This book is everything I had hoped for and more. I can not imagine anyone who would not love this book and all things Bootleg Springs. I laughed, I cried, I cussed, and I had that silly smile on my face at the end of the book that symbolizes all the feels. I love the characters in the Bootleg Springs series….they feel like people who you could be friends with in the real world and the town feels like a place I’d like to live. Moonshine Kiss is everything I have come to expect and love in a Lucy Score book!
Welcome back to Bootleg Springs! This marvelous installment brings us the story of two stubborn mules. Second chance, small town romance at it’s finest. Bowie Bodine is our conservative hero who feels unworthy of Cassidy’s love due to his family’s history and the relationship he has with her father. Cassidy Tucker has all but given up on men, especially since she lives next door to her true love, has her dream job and doesn’t want to leave her hometown. The odds were ever in the favor of these two independent bootleggers getting in each other’s pants. It just takes some meddlin from Cassidy’s BFF, Scarlet, a couple secret town meetings, chicken coop cameras, and one regretful Sheriff to help these two find their HEA. The journey they take paves the way for more intriguing details to surface about Callie Kendall’s disappearance. Revisit Bootleg Springs, fall in love with Bowie and Cassidy, indulge in the snarky Scarlett Bodine with all her brothers, plus Junebug, Cassidy’s persnickety sister, and catch up on the town gossip.
Another fun installment in a great series. I was so excited to read this and jump back into this world. This time we get Bowie and Cassidy’s book. This book literally had me lol’ing at points. Love the small town shenanigans. Loved watching Bowie and Cassidy explore their long held feelings for each other. The disappearance of Callie Kendall and the mystery surrounding her disappearance is a prominent theme in this installment and we are getting closer to finding out what happened to Callie. Can’t wait to read June Bug’s story next!
Second chance forbidden love
This installment in the bootleg springs series was great !
Bowie and cass have secretly (or not so secretly ) loved eachother forever but for some reason never got together until now .
There’s lots of back and forward pull between them , a little bit of angst and a touch of mystery . I’m loving this town , these friends and the bodine family !!
Regretting old promises
Welcome back to the town of Bootleg Springs where the bonfires are big, the softball games rowdy, the town mascot is a chicken, and “bootleg justice” is only a short walk to the lake away. Bowie Bodine has made it crystal clear to Cassidy Tucker that they aren’t going to ever be a thing. Cassidy is his best friends little sister, and besides, he made a promise to keep her in the “friend zone.” It’s a promise he intends to keep, and one she’s intent on making him break. Things get sticky when as a deputy sheriff she’s involved in the investigation involving Bowie’s late father and his father’s connection to Callie Kendall’s disappearance years ago. We still don’t know what happened to Callie. That will have to wait for a later book. Can he get past his promise, and can she deal with the issues the Callie case brings up?
Book three in the Bootleg Springs series. Full length told in dual POV, can be read, and enjoyed as stand-alone. Each book is about a different Bodine sibling with secondary characters the same throughout the series, there is also a small-town mystery theme that will not be solved until book six. Bowie & Cassidy always had a crush of each other growing up, but misunderstandings got in their way of dating. As adults their attraction to each other is still fierce and they will finally get their chance at HEA! Sweet with a little steam!
Cassidy Tucker has loved Bowie Bodine forever! When she tries to move on he moves right next door! As the mystery of Callie’s disappearance heats up and Cass’s job is in jeopardy, Bowie finally tells Cass that he’s loved her forever and wants to date.
Oh, can this series get any better? Why, yes it can! Each book brings us closer to finding out what happened to Callie, but it also brings us deeper into the lives of everyone in Bootleg Springs. Lucy Score knows how to bring humor, love, heat, intrigue to her stories. You just can’t put them down after you start reading! The characters are real, the stories are intriguing, and you truly feel like you’re reading about your friends!
Binge worthy and addictive is how I best describe this series. The small town setting, characters, and story plots keep you coming back to more. Cassidy and Bowie can’t hide their attraction to one another but can the commit and make it work? Or will they let family and work get in their way? One you start reading prepare to get nothing accomplished….except for finishing each book.
Wow– another 10 stars!! I am so HOOKED into this series!! The only advice I give, START FROM THE BEGINNING!! Do NOT skip ahead because there is too much vital information regarding the murder mystery!!
I was so excited to get to Bowie and Cass. They have been in love with each other for so long and you finally find out why Bowie has not made a move! I loved this book and honestly cannot wait to get to Jonah and of course GIBSON!! ahhhh
Okay, I want to live in Bootleg Springs! Claire Kingsley & Lucy Score have created the quintessential down home, small town complete with gossip, scandal, with both silly and somber traditions and close knit family and friends. I chuckled my way through Moonshine Kiss the same way I did Whiskey Chaser. At times I laughed out loud at the antics of the Bootleg Springs denizens.
Cassidy Tucker and Bowie Bodine seemed destined for each other until they weren”t. She even had a Cassidy and Bowie’s wedding book in junior high. She’s now a local deputy caught between loyalties and he’s a high school vice principal whose father may be a murderer. He made a promise years ago but all bets are off once a clarification is made. She’s leery to trust. He’s going all out to win her love.
Oh. My. Goodness. LOVED THIS!
Bowie & Cass have been in love with each other for so long, but neither would admit it. Cass is Bowie’s little sister’s best friend, that should mean she’s off limits, right?
The tension between these two was so thick I could feel it. He thought he’d never be good enough for her. She thought he’d only see her like a sister. So when they finally get stories straight and feelings out in the open, Bowie is ready to pursue Cass full speed ahead. Having her heart broke by him once before, Cass is more than a bit hesitant to let that happen.
I absolutely love these two and I thoroughly enjoyed watching their second chance play out.
Their chemistry is strong and their love even stronger, so their HEA was inevitable. And very satisfying.
There were smiles, tears, plenty of laughs, and more moonshine in this fun and sexy story.
More drama and clues in the Callie Kendall case, to keep me guessing!
Another awesome story from Lucy Score. In Moonshine Kiss, we get to visit Bootleg Springs and hang out with the Bodines again. Lucy Score has quickly become my favorite to go author, her stories are extremely well written, captivating, funny, sweet, swoony and steamy. You can’t help but fall in love with her characters and always wanting more!!!
*** 4.5 Stars ***
Moonshine Kiss (Bootleg Springs Book 3) by Lucy Score with Claire Kingsley is a contemporary, romantic comedy with a bit of mystery. The story is told in first person, dual POV and takes place in the fictional small town of Bootleg Springs, West Virginia.
Deputy Cassidy Tucker has loved Bowie Bodine her entire life, but as a teenager, he broke her heart. Over the years it’s become painfully obvious that all she’ll ever be to Bowie is his little sister’s friend. Dating apps have also been a complete bust, so Cassidy has decided to give up on finding love, get herself some cats, and just focus on work.
Bowie has secretly loved Cassidy for most of his life, but he knows that he can never be with her. He made a promise, and even though it hurts, he’ll keep his promise. But living next door to Cassidy makes it difficult to keep his distance. Especially when she makes him furious by withholding details about the investigation into his father’s role in Callie Kendall’s disappearance.
What promise has kept Bowie away from Cassidy for all these years? Will evidence be found proving his father is innocent or guilty? Will Cassidy and Bowie finally find a way to be together? Or will their ties to the investigation keep them apart for good?
I really enjoyed Cassidy and Bowie’s love story. They were both relatable and loveable characters. It was entertaining, funny, and steamy. I’m having fun collecting clues about Callie’s disappearance as they’re revealed in each book. Looking forward to the next story.
Bootleg Springs book 3 does not disappoint.
This is Bowie and Cassidy’s story, and I loved it. I really liked how their shared history added to their understanding of each other. They already know the tells and can read each other well enough to know when something isn’t being said. Cassidy is fierce and I love her ice queen ability at work. I sure wish I could do that, but my face usually says exactly what I am thinking. Bowie is good, and honorable, and true. I loved it when they finally stop fighting each other and row the boat in the same direction.
There are heart melting moments and hot physical moments. (Holy hot kiss against the wall!) We continue to get to know the Bodine and Tucker families and the other townsfolk. And more clues are revealed in the case of the missing Callie Kendall.
I love Lucy Score’s writing and how she allows the reader to understand the characters’ inner thoughts that drive their actions.
I highly recommend this book and this series.
Moonshine Kiss was everything I hoped it would be and more!! Of course it was hilarious, because this is Bootleg Springs after all…..but it was also sexy and oh so sweet. Truly, this series just keeps getting better and better, and Bowie & Cassidy’s romance was absolutely fantastic! Loved watching these two finally give into the feelings for one another that they had been denying for years. Even better was seeing how they thought they were being sneaky, trying to protect Cassidy’s job, but you can’t fool anyone in this small town!
And I can’t not mention Scarlett in all of this. While I might not have been a huge fan of her in the beginning, I completely adore her now and she is the type of friend everyone should hope to have.
By the end, we are no closer to solving the mystery of the disappearance of Callie Kendall…..but the plot definitely twisted in a way I didn’t see coming. I really have no idea what’s going to happen but I can’t wait to find out the truth – and see what’s up next for the rest of the Bodine family and Bootleg Springs!!
Finally! We got to fall in love with sweet and swoony Bowie Bodine! Bowie and Cassidy’s past is filled with love and heartbreak. Can they overcome their past to love and trust each other again? Can’t wait for the next Bootleg Springs Book where love is coming to the character we least expected and the mystery continues!
Lucy Score hits another home run with Moonshine Kiss. Bowie and Cassidy’s story is heartwarming and has all of the quirkiness we have come to love in Bootleg Springs. The ongoing mystery of Callie’s disappearance is in full swing. I loved watching Bowie and Cassidy finally get what they both have always wanted. The supporting cast was as wonderful as always. Another great read in this series!
I am really enjoying this series. This might be my favorite book of the series yet. Can’t wait for the next book!
