“Super sexy! Against a sensual New Orleans backdrop, Moonlight & Whiskey follows a woman’s journey toward acceptance of her body and herself.”—Helen Hoang, author of The Kiss QuotientWhen life gives you curves, you gotta learn how to rock them. Successful businesswoman Avery Barrows likes her dips and curves, but she’s sick of the haters telling her that she should be ashamed of her body … her that she should be ashamed of her body instead of embracing it. Determined to send them a big f*** you, Avery resolves to cut loose during a girls’ trip, hightailing her quick-mouthed, plus-sized self to New Orleans. So, what’s a smart woman with a little extra gotta do to get laid in this town?
Not much if you ask Declan McGinn, the lead singer of BlackSmith. Tall, dark, and tattooed, with a body made for sin, Declan prefers his women as curvy as his guitars. Avery’s sharp tongue and keen mind makes him want her even more.
As they burn up the sheets, Avery and Declan realize this is no one-night (or even one-week) stand. But for all of her bluster, Avery isn’t sure she can handle any more rejection. Besides, Declan has demons of his own. Now Avery has a choice to make: play it safe, or place her trust in the hands of a man who’s as tempting as the devil himself.

This was a smokin’ hot and intense roller coaster with complicated and stubborn characters and I thought it was an awesome read!
What happens when a successful woman in a male dominated industry takes some time off to decompress with her bestie in NOLA? Nothing but fun, laughs, steamy sex, and some drama.
From the the get go, Avery and Declan are two sides of the same coin, but they just don’t know it yet. The spark and chemistry is immediate, but can they each overcome their own personal doubts and baggage? This is a steamy read with moments of laughter and moments of tears, but it all comes together when this strong woman embraces what and who she really is, and goes after what she wants for her own happy ending.
Moonlight & Whiskey was a great read. Avery and Declan annoyed me at times but I did really love them. I thought they had amazing chemistry and scorching sexy scenes! I loved all the secondary characters!
A sweet and sexy story of love and demons. Avery and Declan collide and the sparks fly. They set out on a tenuous journey of discovering each other. Coming from places of self doubt and past disappointments neither are willing to commit anything more than their bodies and a short term relationship. Fate has a different plan for them and they have to adjust. It is a steamy, angsty read that will blow your socks off. The scenes are vibrant and beautiful and will leaving hankering for a trip to find your own sweet ending.
By day Avery is a straight laced business woman, who keeps her true self under wraps, for fear of her co-workers seeing the real woman that lies beneath her modest pants suits. In her work world she knows you have to keep your head down, work hard, and don’t make waves to become successful, and she has mastered that. But at what cost?
With her upcoming vacation she plans to let loose a little, and let the woman trapped beneath the suit out for a bit to breath. Which also means the suits will be staying home in her closet, and her sexy clothes will be on full display, and hopefully play nicely into her little plan. She needs the company of a man, and she is hoping her well accentuated curves will lure one in. But nothing could have prepared her for the uber sexy, tattooed rocker that finds his way into her heart and her bed…
Moonlight and Whiskey is a sizzling debut that satisfies on many fronts! It comes brimming with loads of angst, sexiness, and gut-wrenching emotion to give your heart a good squeeze and leave your knees weak. This engaging story line and it’s sassy, confident heroine kept me enthralled from start to finish, at times she had me feeling like I was right along with her on her little adventure. I just cannot say enough good things about this one, the writing was impeccable, characters were superbly crafted, and it spoke volumes to my heart and fed my spirit! Highly recommend!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
A Rockstar and the feisty woman romance? Sure, but there is so much more going on behind the scenes of this amazeballs read!
An emotional rollercoaster ride of epic proportions, mixed with wicked humor, sexy times, down to earth, REAL characters, and beautifully flawed love story- I-Could- Not- and- Would- Not-Put- This- Book- DOWN!!
Fantabloulsy fun, and heart-tugging, I cannot wait to read more work by Tricia Lynne!
Okay, can I just say I loved this book? Like full-on devoured it in a sitting. I adore that the story was about two fabulous people (who didn’t fully understand how fabulous they were), who seemed very different on the outside, but were actually very similar on the inside. The way that their wounds matched, and how that both brought them together and drove them apart, kept you so emotionally connected. Both of them, Avery and Declan were so real to me. They made me laugh and ache and root for them every single second, even when they both made mistakes—terrible, but understandable mistakes that I so appreciated.
And can we talk about how hot Avery and Declan are together? Like masterfully so. The chemistry is off the charts and the sexy-times…well…no spoilers, but I’ll never look at tiramisu the same way again.
This book is so special, but the friendships are so amazingly well done. Avery and Kat are lovely together—the way they know and accept each other, and their origin story, brought together by understanding what it’s like to lose a mother, is so beautiful—they have exactly that close type of friendship that is almost like sisterhood or something more and it’s written so well. And the band members are each distinct and unique.
And the setting. New Orleans is beautifully drawn and the rock and roll atmosphere is so perfect and clear. More than anything, the spirit of this book is just magical, the title totally sums it up—moonlight and whiskey all the way. I recommend this a million times over.
This is a hot and deliciously filthy romance with a strong hero and a great heroine who doesn’t realize how marvelous she is. Steeped in New Orleans, we get put right into the action with all the feelings. Plus, there are friends and band member characters who would make great spinoff stories (hint, hint).
I’m sure reviewers and readers will comment about body awareness and the normal size of heroine. As a woman who shops out of different parts of her own closet based upon hormones and a love of tacos, it was nice to see a real woman without a corset-tiny waist.
Balancing the emotions and stakes of both sides of this romance makes for a sassy and fiery romance. Don’t go in expecting closed door. This is sweet but has a heck of a lot of fire which makes it really, really good.
I received an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review, but I’ve already pre-ordered my own copy.
I’m going to need more books by this author. As soon as possible. I loved everything about this book. Great settings, laugh out loud banter, some heart breaking angst and the sexy times are smoking hot. Avery is a character so many of us can relate to. Surely we’ll get books about some of the secondary characters, right??

You will absolutely this book do not miss it !!
This review is based on my honest opinion!! Opinions expressed are my own !!
This was a new author to me and I was absolutely blown away by her book and writing. I loved this book so much I couldn’t put it down.
This book had everything a great romance should have. The main couple were two people you just liked. When they were were falling in love, you were falling right with them, when they laughed, you did too and when they fought, your heart hurt.
There was so much passion between these two that when things were good, they were sexy good!! However, when they fought their fighting usually hit below the belt. You wanted them to get together and be happy. They both had baggage that they are working through but in order to go threw it, sometimes they lashed out.
I would highly recommend this book!!

Great lead and secondary characters.

Moonlight and Whiskey is a standalone book by Tricia Lynne and my first book by this author. Will certainly be looking for more of her books and sure hope she writes more about the secondary characters in this book!!
Avery and Declan come from two different worlds but when they meet it is explosive! This is a must read with lots of steamy romance, dirty talk, laughter, angst and a sharp tongued curvy woman!!
As soon as I started reading, I became immersed in all that was happening in this super sexy contemporary romance with unforgettable characters, sensual New Orleans backdrop, and a well written story that made me laugh, cry, sigh, and I loved every minute of it. I felt a real connection to Avery Barrows, curvy mechanical engineer who is trying to make partner in her Dallas firm and her instant attraction, sizzling chemistry, raw emotions and repartee with tall, dark and tattooed Declan McGinn, lead singer of BlackSmith and owner of Whiskey Moon bar in New Orleans.
Fans of this genre should plan to read Moonlight and Whiskey by author Tricia Lynne. I look forward to reading more from this talented author. I received an advance reader copy of the book from the publisher via NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review. I enjoyed it so much, I purchased a copy to read at a later time.
Moonlight & Whiskey by Tricia Lynne was a nice surprise by a new-to-me author. A Rockstar romance with a twist! Avery Barrows is a full-size beautiful woman. Though she may be comfortable in her own skin, she hides who she is more often than not. But when a chance to get away to New Orleans comes up, she is determined to let go.
Declan McGinn is one hot man and a musician dealing with a hard past. He does not do more than one-night stands. And yet with Avery one-night turns into more. I loved Avery’s feisty attitude and Declan’s sexy charm. They had great chemistry and banter. Could they learn to truly let the other in before it was too late?
I enjoyed reading Moonlight & Whiskey by Tricia Lynne and hope read more of her work in the future. It was emotional and steamy.
Happy reading!
Moonlight & Whiskey is a book I’ve wanted to read since I read the sypnosis and read that the main character is a curvy woman. Not many romance books have a plus sized main characters, so this was really interesting to see. Besides that, this story sounded like it was going to be amazing!
Avery has made it career wise (well, it would be completely true if she still wasn’t doing more work than she should be doing) and knows that she’s smart. After not having the best childhood, Avery has built up some walls. She knows she’s beautiful and she loves her curves, but society (especially at work) still makes her feel like she needs to be someone she’s not!
Declan is the mysterious bad boy and it’s clear there is more to him than meets the eye. He doesn’t do relationships. Not after the way his mother treated his father and how that left him in pieces. Declan is a smart man though, owns his own business, plays in a rock band. His world just happens to get turned upside down when he meets Avery on vacation.
Avery and Declan are only supposed to be together while she is on vacation in NOLA, but it’s clear they’ve got a connection that isn’t going to let it go that easily. I loved seeing them connect and the chemistry was there from the start. There are quite a lot of steamy moments in this book, that romance lovers will definitely enjoy! I think my favorite part of their relationship is the fact that they start making the other feel safe. The need for the walls slowly starts to fade. On top of that, Declan loves her for the way she is. He embraces her curves and makes sure she realizes she should too! They both become a lot stronger in this book and fight for what they want.
While I loved a lot about this book, for some reason it took a long time for it to really grab me. I normally fly through books this size, but it felt like I just wasn’t getting any further. I’ve been trying to put my finger on what it could be, but while I loved these characters, I was missing something. I’m wondering if maybe the “will they, won’t they” took too long, or maybe things were described too much? In the beginning, we read about the mystery of NOLA. After their first date in the restaurant with the whiskey, I kind of missed that through the rest of the book. It would’ve been interesting to have that play a bigger part.
Moonlight & Whiskey is mostly told from Avery’s POV. We eventually get to read how Declan thinks, but I think maybe this book would’ve grabbed me more if that had started sooner. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely enjoyed this story, there were just a few things that felt off.
All in all, if you’re looking for a steamy romance, a character who is comfortable in her own skin, great friends, tons of music references and even a couple of concerst and that has people who learn to love, Moonlight & Whiskey is the book for you!
Despite having a Rockstar in this book, it is really about a strong woman not afraid of showing how great she is while on vacation when she finally has a chance to be herself. Declan is sexy and Irish and in a local New Orleans band. He finds Avery sexy and isn’t sure what to do with her sassy mouth. This was such a fun read and I can’t wait to read more of Avery’s books. This was a great start!
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.
Moonlight and Whiskey by Tricia Lynn is a very cute story of a thick girl getting the guy. Avery is confident and can hold her own when it comes to the mean girls. Declan is the lead singer of a popular band. He is typical rocker. He has the looks, the voice, the tattoos and the demons. The two hit it off and have a hot and heavy time. What started out between them as something casual morphed into more. Loved their chemistry. This
was the first time I have read this author. The story drew me in and had me from beginning to end. Really like how this author told this story. Loved Avery’s spunk and sass. For her first book she knocked it out the park. I look forward to reading more stories by this author. 5 stars for me.
