New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout delivers the unforgettable story of a woman whose new life has just begun—but may end in murder . . . Julia Hughes has always played it safe until she learned a very painful lesson. The de Vincent brothers share a massive fortune and a dark reputation. Julia cares for their troubled sister, but a menacing presence in the mansion—and the ever-present temptation of Lucian—prove dangerously distracting.

1st of a new series….love every page….
I enjoyed this book. I’m not entirely sure about the brothers as far as what or who they are, but I imagine I will find out in book 2. This one was pretty good, and will keep you interested and wanting to read more.
Wow, so many twists and turns that will keep you guessing right til the very end, this was a great start to the series, I can’t wait to dig in to Gabe’s book!
OMG. This book was just amazing. I’m talking, can’t put down pure awesomness.
I’ll admit, prior to starting this book, I’d seen reviews online and they made me question my decision to read this. Yeah, they were all good reviews, but some of the things that were being said left me feeling like this wasn’t going to be a book for me. Or at least, not at the moment. What if I hated it!? I love JLA’s books. I haven’t read a bad one yet. But what if this was the first? What if it was awful!? So, with much trepidation, I opened my kindle and started. And I’ll be honest…the only reason this book wasn’t read in one sitting is because I’ve been sick with a cold. No matter how hard I tried, I kept dozing off. And every time I dozed off, I’d dream about the book, just to wake up and start the process all over again.
This book definitely stuck with me while reading. I just couldn’t get enough of it. Yes, it’s a romance (heavy on the romance *wiggling eyebrows*, but at the same time, it’s so much more. It has mystery, suspense, secrets, intrigue! I loved the characters and the way the story unfolded. Bit by bit, like peeling an onion. Each reveal kept me trapped in my kindle, waiting for the next thing I’d learn about the characters.
I loved Lucian and Julia. I loved watching them banter and dance around each other. I loved watching them get to know each other. They just kept me enthralled. Honestly, when the book was over, I wasn’t ready to let them go. I wanted more. I wanted to see more of them making their life together, being a team and see where their future goes.
I really loved how entranced Lucian was with Julia. When he told her about his family history, and how the de Vincent men fall hard and fast, you could see it happening to him, even as he wasn’t ready to admit it. I loved how protective he was, how he couldn’t stay away from her. Every time they were together, it was pure magic.
While I was definitely a little hesitant going in, this book ended up being amazing. I hated that it ended and wanted to stay with the characters longer. I can’t wait for the next book!

Favorite Quote: “I’m not just screwed up, Ms Hughes. I’m as broken as they come, but I don’t need to be fixed. I don’t want to be fixed.” He caged her in. “I like all my fucked-up shards and pieces. They make me who I am. They make me real. The question is, can you handle real?”
Review:
I was really excited for this book ever since I saw the crazy hot trailer, and since it’s a Jennifer L. Armentrout book.
I wasn’t sure what genre this book might fall in. The blurb made is sound like it could be paranormal as well and maybe it is to a certain extent. You’ll have to read the book to find out.
What is this book about:
This book is about Julia and Lucian. Lucian is from a very wealthy and well known family. They aren’t neccecairly known for good reasons but they are known. Julia is desperate to get away from her ex husband and gets a job offer she can’t refuse. She is going to work as a private nurse for the de Vincent family. She doesn’t know what hit her.
She and Lucian have crazy hot chemistry. Julia is trying not to submit to that chemistry and Lucian’s charming ways because he’s her boss. But how long can she resist him? Especially when she gets to know him better, know that he’s more than this (overly) confident man that has it all. After all not everything is what it seems…. the de vincent curse might very well be real.
What did I like/love about this book
I really liked the banter between Julia and Lucian. Lucian is a very sassy confident person that knows who he is and makes no excuses for it. Julia is strong and respectable and she seems like a nice and fun person to be around.
I really liked the suspense aspect to it. So I’m looking forward to reading about the other brothers because this book didn’t reveal much.
Rating:
4 1/2 I loved it stars
I really like the author’s writing style. The characters were well developed and had great chemistry. It was definitely a page-turner where you couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next.
I always find Bayou story-lines to be so intriguing, and “Moonlight Sins” did not disappoint. There is mystery that surrounds the powerful and rich de Vincent family and Julia lands right in the middle of it all. Julie arrives at the de Vincent home to be the caregiver of the long, lost sister whose return is a secret, and is shocked and mad to find out her one-night stand with a sexy stranger, is actually Lucian de Vincent, the brother of her patient. To make matters more uncomfortable, the mansion appears to be haunted, as she hears and sees strange things in the night. Plus, the family is dealing with the questionable death of the family patriarch. Lucian certainly has that mysterious and sexiness going for him, that pulls Julie in. I expected a “dark” romance, but the de Vincent brothers are mystifying, but not that controlling, dark type of men, that seems to be so popular now in so many books. I so look forward to the next books in this very well written series.
Lucian is a blunt man, he holds nothing back, “so you’re saying you wouldn’t have let me rip your dress and eff you with my fingers? Is that what you’re saying?” Lucian is such a smart***, “I didn’t eye-eff her for the full ten minutes.” Lucian took a sip of the rich liquor. “There were about two minutes where I was actually listening to your conversation with her.” There are times Lucian has no self control, “eff it,” he growled. And then he kissed her.” This is one of those books that stick with you, and end up giving you a big ole mind eff and I cannot wait for the next brother to get his story.
Oh holy wow! I loved every moment of this book. I have a harder time with third person pov, but once I got comfortable with the pov there was no stopping! Moonlight Sins is mysterious, creepy, and hella sexy!
Julia is moving from Pennsylvania to take a job as a live in nurse for a family in New Orleans. On her last night in town, she is out with her friends where she meets an incredibly sexy man and decides to throw caution to the wind and have a one-night stand with the sexy stranger. When she arrives in New Orleans, not only does she learn that the family she will be working for is the De Vincent family; the wealthiest family in the States, but also that sexy stranger from the night before is none other than Lucian De Vincent. He swears his intentions were to just meet her and make sure she was the right fit to care for his twin sister, Maddie, but the attraction between them is undeniable. I loved Julia. She was strong, caring, loving, and brave.
Lucian is sexy as sin! He has a reputation as playboy and because of that he has to work really hard to win Julia’s affection. His efforts result in some steamy moments between the two of them. But it wasn’t just lust between them, they slowly build a relationship. One they each desperately need full of trust, understanding and love. All the while, there are strange things happening at the house, unexplained footsteps in the rooms above, Lucian’s father’s suicide that the police don’t think is a suicide at all, Maddie’s reappearance and her catatonic state…
This book will keep you guessing until the very end. That’s the best part- ok Lucian and his sexiness is the BEST part so the second best part is I couldn’t figure it out. At first I thought it was going to be a creepy paranormal type story kind of like the movie the skeleton key, but it wasn’t at all. It was much more suspense thriller with a whole lot of sexy.
I have been a huge fan of Jennifer Armentrout since the Onyx series and have loved every book she has written since. And after finishing Moonlight Sins I once again have the butterflies in my stomach and straight up buzz of pure excitement of finding another series I am in love with. I FLOVED this book. I swear it’s a crime to call it just a book as it felt just like a movie. An amazing movie with so many facets and parts that together created this whole masterpiece. GAHHHH!! It was so incredible!!
I loved everything about this book. Lucian and Julia were perfection. Their passion was fiery and their banter just as hot. I loved their connection and the push and pull between them. It was so sexy and engaging. And the Underlying suspense prevalent throughout the story? PERFECTION!! I also.could.not get enough of this author’s writing style and voice as she writes with a realness that is unparalleled. All in all this was fantastic and I honestly can’t wait for book.two!! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula
This was a spectacular read with twists and turns around every corner that had me holding my breath. It was an exciting web full of secrets and passion! The attention to detail was phenomenal. I thought Moonlight Sins was extraordinary!
Lucian de Vincent may be nicknamed Lucifer by the press and those who fear the power of his family, but Julia Hughes will soon find out exactly what sort of man he is. When Lucian sees something he wants, he will do anything to be sure he gets it… and he wants Julia- so watch out folks, the heat is about to be turned up to scorching and it has nothing to do with their Louisiana location!
It would be a serious understatement to say that the de Vincent family has the market cornered on dysfunction. The patriarch of the family was a cruel and often emotionless man who may or may not have just taken his own life. Lucian’s older brother Devlin, also known as Devil, seems to follow in his footsteps and is scarily cold, unfeeling and controlled in a way that you know when he snaps, it’s going to be an epic meltdown. Gabriel or Gabe, who the press refers to as Demon, is the least clear-cut case to me. That nickname didn’t seem to fit him as he was the most caring and “normal” one in this story at times, but he has secrets that are just waiting to be revealed.
And then there is Lucian, the man of many faces. He is a rich playboy with a devil-may-care attitude who can be found with a different woman every night- and they are all aware they should not expect a repeat. He is a serial flirt with a mischievous side and smile that causes panties to combust on sight. He has seen too much heartache, indifference, and cruelty to believe in love, and he is accustomed to people wanting to be around him only for his name, money and connections. But he is also a fierce protector of the few who have earned his trust and love, including his twin sister Maddie. She disappeared for ten years on the night of their mother’s death then mysteriously reappeared a few weeks ago on the family property with no ability to speak or communicate and no indication what happened in the interim.
Julia escaped a toxic marriage only to live a dull existence since her divorce. She lives in her head WAY too much and debates every decision but she finally convinced herself to start actively seeking something new. She surprises herself by taking a chance on moving thousands of miles away to take an in-home care job for a private family she knows little about. When Lucian shows up the night before she is due to leave for Louisiana, she has no idea who he is or that she will be working for his family. Things get HOT only to have him leave abruptly, leaving Julia confused until she walks into the family home the next day. Feeling blindsided, she shows him her fiery side which only serves to intrigue him further. The sizzling attraction was not a one-time thing if the tension surrounding them is any indication but she is just as convinced she can ignore it as he is that he will change her mind.
The UST ramps up to scorching levels as they dance around each other and bizarre events keep piling up around them. The small matter of supposed curse of the de Vincent family may not be so farfetched after all. Generations of women either directly related to or loved by the men of the family have met with untimely deaths or have descended into mental illness, and suspicious occurrences are starting to make it seem like Julia will be the next victim of the curse… or something a little closer to home and more sinister. Secrets are waiting to be revealed, and someone may end up dead before it is all over. Once Lucian realizes he has fallen as hard and fast as others in his family have done in the past, he isn’t sure what to do with that. He wants to protect Julia but he wants to keep her too, and he struggles between pushing her away with the truth and pulling her closer throughout the course of the story.
Yet another amazing series from the talented JLA is on its way to us starting with Moonlight Sins which I have already read twice! The answers to a few family secrets were revealed in this story, but there is still so much more to come. Gabe receives shocking news in this book that is going to impact his future, and Dev is a man of mystery who seems in need of redemption based on what I have seen so far. I will be eagerly waiting to see what comes next for the de Vincents, and I hope we see more of Lucian and Julia in the future too.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.
It’s been quite a while since I last read a JLA book. Since this is the beginning of a new series I jumped in with both feet. This series in short covers three brothers and their love interests. This first book focuses on Lucian de Vincent. Initially I’ll tell you to expect a bit of mystery, suspense, romance and some seemingly paranormal activity.
The de Vincent family is extremely wealthy and private. There’s a lot going on in their family – as with anyone’s – but you know money can bring the crazies like no other. The way the brothers speak to each other is almost cryptic but you’ll eventually get that story.
Joining the brothers in their stately home is a beautiful nurse by the name of Julia. She is there to oversee the health of a woman staying in the de Vincent home. Though she’s warned the brothers are trouble and to stay away from Lucian – there’s just something about him that draws her to him. Makes her feel safe. No matter how much she doesn’t want to give in to the attraction it’s inevitable.
As their relationship comes together everything else starts to unravel. Not everything is as it seems and really – you should hold onto whatever you’re reading this book from (paperback/ebook.) For real you might not see this coming at all.
Jennifer L. Armentrout has created a world of secrets upon secrets. When they start to unravel it’s only a matter of time to see who survives and who doesn’t. Including that of Lucian & Julia’s relationship.
