Jennifer Armentrout brings you a sexy, haunting tale of opposites that will keep you turning pages and reading all night in Moonlight Scandals!
It’s not a secret that I love everything Armentrout does- but this one? Dayum!!!
How does one describe the de Vincent’s without sounding like a giggling school girl!?! Lucian with his charming self and beguiling eyes. Gabe and his broken hearted existence making you want to hold him. But Devlin, Devlin has secretly been my hidden delight, a hidden bar of chocolate that you often look at but decide it isn’t the right time for. (No judging the hidden chocolate!)
Devlin is a complicated dark chocolate with Mango woven in. He’s decadent. He’s forbidden. He’s everything you desire but tell yourself you would never need. He’s too much yet a tiny sampling will never be enough.
Devlin de Vincent is the whole package and more. The only problem is that his outer wrapping is surrounded by Gorilla tape. It’s almost impenetrable. Almost. His tightly woven world is slipping with all these secrets, doubts, and conspiracies.
Secrets, secrets every where. The de Vincent’s secrets are the stuff every reporter dreams of finding. They are the stuff nightmares are made of. They are going to be ripped open for every reader to see. Your thoughts, fears, and answers are just pages away. But ever after…that you will need to see!
I love the complexities of this family. I love the paranormal vibe but with the doubters edge. It makes it seem more real. It gives an edge to the story while satisfying both believer and nonbelievers. I love that though this takes place in South you feel like you are right there. (It’s currently -17 F where I live with the 30 mph winds so the South sounds perfect right now!)
As always, the author has given us a family to want to call our own, a group to call friends, and a need to belong. So whether you like the charmer, the broody artist, or the seemingly unfeeling mysterious older brother…the de Vincent’s will capture your heart before you even realize it was available.
Reviewed for Sweet Spot Sisterhood
Rosie lives in New Orleans, works at her family’s shop, and ghost hunts. Devlin is rich and known as the Devil. He is good at keeping secrets from his brothers and protecting them. Rosie and Dev keep running into each other and it either leads to a yelling match or a make out session. But Rosie seems to bring out the human side of him and he’s not for sure if he likes that or not. I know this is short but I didn’t want to give anything away. Steamy, mystery, and twisted. Plenty of secrets and surprises. Ghosts and a little humor.
** spoiler alert ** Okay there’s not really a “spoiler” spoiler in this, but I mention something near the end of the review that you won’t know about until you read the book… soooooo there’s that!
When I started this series, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. The first book, for me, was a little on the weak side, the second slightly better, but the third – oh yeah, this one was perfect.
I’m probably biased because I always like the darker characters, and Devlin has enough darkness to feed my twisted little soul. This book was perfect, wrapping up the little threads dropped throughout the other two books, and giving a conclusion that rocked.
I’m kinda sorry the series is over (is it over?).
Can we have Peyton’s book.. just to round it up?
This was hands down my favorite book of the series. A large part of that may be due to the fact that I’m a sucker for a good enemies to lovers book. The chemistry between Rosie and Devlin is so hot that it practically jumps off the page. Rosie is such a great character. I love her tenacity and confidence and the fact that she refuses to let Devlin intimidate her like he does most people. Now my poor sweet Devlin. Ok, he’s not really sweet, but he’s been through a lot in his life and you don’t find out exactly how bad things were when he was a child until this book. Finding out just how much he’s been protecting his brothers over the years shows just how much of a good guy he really is, even if he doesn’t see it in himself. All of the character development aside, the story itself is so good! The mystery, the intrigue, the danger, and all of the secrets that come to light in this book are incredible. One twist that was revealed is something that I began suspecting in the second book but the full scope of it was still a bit mind blowing. I just absolutely loved this book. And if you listen to audiobooks, then do yourself a favor and listen to this one. It makes the banter between Rosie and Devlin even better.

: Moonlight Scandals
: de Vincent #3
: Jennifer L. Armentrout
: 4.5/5
This was my favorite book out of the three in the series. During the first two books I was already hoping that Dev (Devlin) will get his redemption and he does. I knew there had to be more to him than meets the eye and I am so glad I was right. His character had so many layers and I love how the author peeled them away bit by bit. And then we have Rosie, I loved her. She is such an awesome badass female character who is not afraid to say what she thinks! If you know Jennifer L. Armentrout, you’ll know she’s a Supernatural fan and even though I didn’t find any direct references… I sure felt the whole supernatural vibes. Mostly because… Rosie is a ghost hunter in her spare time! I loved the chemistry (steamy!!) and banter between Rosie and Dev. Moreover, the book has so much mystery and suspense and there were some plot twists that I did not see coming, I was shocked! Just a really great read and an amazing ending to this series.

I cannot recommend the de Vincent brothers books enough. Jennifer Armentrout has created characters that you cannot help but fall in love with, in spite of their occasional asshole tendencies. Honestly, after reading the first two books in this series, I wasn’t looking forward to Devlin’s story. I disliked him completely, and didn’t really see how he was going to redeem himself. But after reading; well, let’s just say I added him to my book boyfriend list pretty fast. I also love Rosie, and her sassy, ghost hunting ways! You also get a lot of answers (which breed more questions) about what is actually happening in that house, which is most definitely haunted! Start this series today, and you won’t be sorry!!!
I am actually feeling so giddy writing this review, I feel like bouncing off the walls. I think this series is getting better with each book, with each one being better than the last. While I love Lucian and Gabriel, I happily jumped on the Team Devlin bandwagon.
I’ve been curious about Devlin ever since he was introduced in Moonlight Sins as the emotionless, unapproachable, oldest de Vincent brother. I just knew that there is so much more to him than meets an eye and I could not wait to read his story to peal off all of his layers. And there was a lot! That man has more layers than an onion.
I have a serious girl crush on Rosie and she really deserves to be talked about more in the JLA community. She is absolutely amazing and I really feel like she really isn’t being given enough credit. I love her sharp tongue and how she never backed down from Devlin even when he was being a douche nozzle. She can take it as good as she can give it and I loved her no-nonsense attitude towards Devlin. She is honestly the perfect match for him and when it comes to these two, it is really true what they say – opposites attract, because honestly, these two couldn’t be anymore different than they are. I mean you have Rosie, ghost hunter extraordinaire, and then you have Devlin. But man if it does not work in their favour!
Those two seriously set my heart on fire. Rosie brought out a side in Devlin that even he didn’t know he had and it was… everything. Devlin is really complex character and he has so many sides to him. I honestly did not know what to make of him ever since he was introduced but that’s what made me love him even more. I love when the ones that come across as emotionless and indifferent towards everything fall in love because I feel like they are the ones that fall twice as hard and fast. And I think that was the case with Devlin. No matter how hard he fought his attraction towards Rosie, at the end of the day she made him into a better person and managed to do what others failed at; she made the Devil fall in love.
Moonlights Scandals was truly an astonishing conclusion of the de Vincent series. It was full of twists and turns and while I was suspecting some of it, I still can’t believe that it actually came to fruition. I am still trying to wrap my head around it. And that Epilogue was everything I hoped for! I am actually quite sad that this is the last book in the series because I just want to keep reading about de Vincent brothers and their lives. I definitely recommend that you pick up this series!
I think I loved Devlin the most out of all three brothers. I love the dark heroes. Excellent conclusion to a great series.
This was by far my favorite of the series. I love Devlin and Rosie. I knew that Devlin had to be a softie on the inside, but he really had a hard time showing it. Rosie was just the right person to bring him out of the darkness. I enjoyed that this book had a little more paranormal in it and I really loved the twists and turns it took. It really kept me guessing. It was a great finale for these amazing brothers.
Welp. This is definitely my favorite of the series. Holy wow was the book addictive. It’s not a small book, but I easily finished it in one sitting. I just could not put it down and man those twists and turns. The tone of this series has been so fantastic and I love the gothic feel to it.
Rosie is so great. I just love her and her spunk and her obsession with all things paranormal. She is unashamedly herself and I truly love her for that. And she doesn’t put up with Dev’s crap. She calls him on it and puts him in his place when he’s being a jerk, which he is quite often. But man their chemistry is off the charts and the banter is phenomenal.
As for Dev, well I haven’t known what to make of him and I haven’t particularly liked him, but by the end of this book he somehow became my favorite. There is a lot going on with Dev and I couldn’t even begin to guess all of it but he won me over. Only JLA could take a character like Dev and turn him into my favorite of the series.
This book has so many twists and turns and the questions I’ve had since Moonlight Sins finally got answers. I love how each book in the series can stand on its own, but that there are things that carry over from book to book. Honestly some of the twists blew my mind and I really did not see them all coming. I love being taken by surprise and having that mind blown moment. I love the creepy, slightly paranormal vibe this series has, with a side of mystery and suspense and of course ALL THE SWOON. JLA always kills it in the romance department and she killed it once again.
Moonlight Scandals gave me all the answers I was looking for and blew my mind in the process. Dev and Rosie had such a crazy story and I just adored those two. If you like books that deliver the swoon with a side of spine tingling creepiness, this is for you.
I just… I don’t… What the HECK did I just read???? Remember when I said that Moonlight Sins is every episode of Maury Povich shoved into 400 pages? Ummm YEAH. It happened again. I can’t even think right now.
First of all, I was initially dreading this book because it’s about Dev who seemed like the biggest gerk ever. And call me crazy, but I did NOT feel like reading an entire book about him. But somehow this ended up being the best one??? Dev’s character arc is great and I loved seeing his icy exterior melt like the Winter Warlock.
Also, Rosie is THE FREAKING BEST??? Won’t lie, kinda have a girl crush on her and she’s really what made this book great. Watching those two crazy kids get together was fun and I lived for the little arguments they would get into. Freaking beaded curtains. *Shakes head*
And THE ENDING. THE ENDING GUYS. WHAT???? It felt like I got repeatedly punched in the face with these plot twists and big reveals. I wanted an explosive ending and DANG did Armentrout deliver. More ghosts, murder, masquerade balls, affairs, and sooooo much more.
↬ FINAL WORD
This series is soap opera level insane and I LOVED IT. What a ride. If you live for ridiculous drama, you’ll love this series too.
My favorite of all three books. Awesome read
I can always rely on JLA to get me out of a reading funk. My reading month of January started off strong and then it just went downhill from there. A lot of 3 star ratings and one DNF already, definitely not how I saw my year starting off. I cannot get enough of this series and I truly hope that we’re not saying farewell to it yet. I feel like she could totally add one more story, but we’ll see what comes of it.
I’ve been waiting for Devlin’s story since book 1, he’s definitely the brother that intrigued me the most despite his sunshine attitude. I wasn’t sure how he was going to win me over, but boy did he! He certainly surprised me the most and now tops as my favorite.
I loved the suspense and mystery that this series just brings. And it got deeper with every book, so many questions and I was constantly seeking answers. Don’t even get me started with the all the secrets, there’s so many twists. And one I didn’t see coming at all.
Devlin and Rosie couldn’t be more perfectly matched! It was an absolute JOY to watch Rosie just peel back all of Dev’s layers little by little. She was definitely my kind of heroine that I love reading about. She takes zero sh*t from anyone including Dev, but I love how loyal and protective she can be about the ones she cares about. I appreciated her open-mind and the way she saw the world. And I would seriously just love talking to her on a daily basis, can she be a real person, please?!
This series is definitely another JLA fave and I’m so bummed to say good-bye even though I’m hoping that we get one more, possibly. I’d say Jennifer is one of the most consistent authors out there and I’ll never stop reading her books, I’m such a fan.
Jennifer L. Armentrout
This was great, loved the MC’s.
Everyone in New Orleans knows of the de Vincent family and their scandals and secrets. Considering the oldest of the brothers is nicknamed “the devil”, the family is just bad news, but when Rosie meets Devlin de Vincent by chance at the cemetery, and her best friend is involved with a different de Vincent brother, it’s hard for Rosie to stay away. It doesn’t hurt that Devlin de Vincent is practically unapproachable and incredibly sexy– that just adds to his mysterious appeal.
Devlin is just as intrigued by Rosie as she is by him, especially when she doesn’t cater to Devlin like most everyone else in his life. Their banter is absolutely delicious and I adored these two together! At first glance it would seem that these two don’t get along at all, but it’s really a whole boatload of sexual tension between them and Jennifer Armentrout plays out their building relationship just perfectly. It’s sweet and sexy and super scorchin hot!
Most of the book is devoted to their burgeoning relationship around the backdrop of Rosie’s paranormal investigations and Devlin’s dealing with family mysteries. When these two worlds collide, Devlin’s family secrets come spilling out and put all of the de Vincent family and Rosie in danger. Rosie is fearless in her support of Devlin, even when his brothers question him motives and outcomes.
I really enjoyed this series as it has many elements that I love — such as the paranormal aspects and a slow building romance between the main characters. Moonlight Scandals has some amazing and awesome banter between Rosie and Devlin and a gradual reveal of all the secrets and scandals within the family. I just loved everything about this series and Moonlight Scandals is definitely my favorite of the trilogy.
Moonlight Scandals is best read after reading the first two books of the series, but you can read it standalone, although I think you’ll be going back to grab the first two books so you have the whole story.
I hope to see more contemporary titles from Jennifer L. Armentrout. She’s able to translate all the best things from her new adults and YA worlds into this suspenseful romance, and that’s really terrific for readers.
Definitely recommended.
An ARC was provided for review.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.
This book is the conclusion of the de Vincent trilogy. If you haven’t read the other two books it will help you understand this third book. Though I suppose you can read this one as a stand alone. I wouldn’t recommend it.
In this edition we have Devlin & Rosie. He’s the oldest de Vincent brother. Heavy secrets weigh him down on a daily basis. Most people are afraid of him when they see him. His nickname around the media is “the Devil.”
Rosie happens to meet Devlin by chance and after that it seems she runs into him everywhere! It doesn’t help that her best friend is dating one of his brothers and living at their house for a short period of time.
These two. They crack me up. He’s all hard-nosed and she’s like a warm blanket. She makes him smile, laugh, just a totally different person than his every day norm.
I enjoyed reading this series. Author Jennifer Armentrout is probably most known for her paranormal stories. She included a little tiny bit of paranormal suspicion in this series, as the de Vincent house is haunted. I love how she can incorporate a ghostly experience but focus on the romance.
Life is full of unpredictable moments. For Rosie – her future was changed in unpredictable ways long ago. That tragedy led the years of self doubt and insecurities. At the same time – the events that led up to the present have shaped Rosie into the woman that she is today.
During one of her trips to the cemetery, Rosie finds herself inexplicably drawn to the man that needed a shoulder to lean on. What she ended up discovering was a hardened heart that belongs among the ‘legends’. Who knew that chance meeting with Devlin de Vincent would lead to more interactions with the notorious playboy in the strangest of ways?
After the attack of her best friend, Rosie finds that her path is continuously crossing with the de Vincent family. With all of the secrets lurking in the de Vincent mansion, Rosie cannot help but be drawn to the mysterious family. Now the secrets from the past are finding a way to pull Rosie into the mix in more ways than one. Where will Devlin come into play when Rosie is on the hunt for answers paired with a few conjured spirits that hold the answers to all of the questions surrounding the de Vincent family?
Moonlight Scandals is the latest addition to the de Vincent family, and it will pull you into the secrets that surround the town’s most captivating family. Devlin de Vincent is a powerful man, and he may have just met his match when crossing paths with Rosie. The mystery that shrouds the de Vincent family will finally unravel in this final book of the trilogy. Curses aren’t always what they are cracked up to be, and readers will discover the secrets that have surrounded Devlin and his family over the years. An entertaining and devious look at the deception and deceit that runs deep in the bowels of this family vault.
Okay I don’t where to start.. I completely love this book.. Since the first paragraph where Dev and Rosie are talking.. I love it!!!
It´s a fast read book, I literally read it in one night.. the plot of the book its the best I read since long time ago..
I don´t hace ANYTHING negative to say about the book. Everyone should read it, I laugh, cry and scream a lot of time while I read. Some parts were really creepy.
its a 5 stars for me. And now Dev is in the top 3 of boyfriends with Seth and daemon!
