This was a wonderful book with great characters, an interesting story line, and a great setting. I loved seeing all of the characters from the other books of the series, and especially liked the way the author left us at the end with an update on each couple. It is going to be hard to say goodbye to this series.
I am so sad to see this series end. As a fan I was so happy that the author gave us an epilogue long enough to give us one last glimpse of all the couples we’ve met along the way. In the final book of the ON DUBLIN STREET series, we get Logan and Grace’s story. Grace is infuriated when her new neighbor, Logan throws off her work schedule with all of his late night “guests”. But Grace comes to his rescue when Logan gets the surprise of his life. I loved the characters and the pace the author set for them and their circumstances. Again, I’m sad to say goodbye to all those we’ve met but what a way to go out.
It’s over. It’s actually over. This series basically started my romance novel obsession, and we’ve finally arrived at the very last book. I might need a moment with a bag of Cheetos to compose myself.
At first, I thought this would be your typical love story of neighbors who initially hate each other eventually falling in love. However, it quickly becomes something significantly more intense when Logan’s 15 year old daughter, Maia, who he never knew existed shows up on his front door. Maia’s mother is a junkie, and immediately bonds with Grace who also knows what it’s like to be abandoned by a family who shows you no love whatsoever. Throw in some delectable sexual tension between Grace and Logan, and you’ve got yourself a dynamic read full of all the warm and fuzzies!
To say there’s sexual tension between Grace and Logan is almost an understatement! Once they finally give in to their physical desires for one another Logan actually withdraws from her because he wants to focus fully on Maia. For him, having sex with Grace was never going to be a one time thing, so he decides to pull away now until he can give Grace all of the sexy, focused attention she deserves.
When Logan finally does decide that he wants to make things work with Grace, she is understandably hesitant. Therefore, he enlists the help of all the chicas from the previous novels, as well as his daughter, to show Grace that he is an adorably loving man who she can trust. And you know what? It works! The sex between them is sweet, yet rough at the same time. After being away from her bed for so long he tries so hard to go slow, but let’s just say he fails in that endeavor.
There are a lot of wonderful moments in this last and final book, and drama abounds in both Logan and Grace’s families. I loved that before they officially got together Maia would get rather snippy with both her father and Grace whenever they would go on a date with someone else.
That being said, the absolute best part of this novel was the epilogue. It’s broken up into short sections which starts with the after story for our most recent couple, and then goes back through each female lead in the series. We see how everything has come together for an amazing happily ever after for each of our 6 couples, and I think I might need another bag of Cheetos to deal with all the feels right now!
4.75 Stars!
This might be my favorite in the completed series. At the very least, my highest rated. After reading the previous book, I was really anticipating Logan’s story. He had a heartbreaking, but hopeful backstory going into this one and I just happen to love broken (or slightly bruised) book heroes. The story is also a bit of an enemies-to-lovers scenario, which is a favorite trope. While I was already excited for Logan, Grace and her wounded backstory were the perfect addition to this deserving love story. While some readers really enjoy it when characters from previous books pop in, I’m kind of indifferent to it. Sometimes, it will make the story drag, since the author feels it necessary to preface their appearance for readers that haven’t read the previous books. On the contrary, in this story, it was just one of those moments that had me in heartfelt tears. Moonlight on Nightingale Way was a beautiful story to cap off the series along with sweet little epilogues at the end for all of the previous couples.
“There are moments in life that change us irreparably. Sometimes those moments are grand and dramatic, tragic or beautiful in their intensity. Sometimes those moments are quiet and small like footsteps fading behind a closed door. The subtlety of those moments can sometimes camouflage their impact and sometimes the impact is felt profoundly, but the quietness of the moment is lost on everyone else around you adding loneliness to the equation.”
Just loved it, great ending for an amazing series!
ARRRRGGHHH THAT EPLOGUE!!
I love Shannon and Cole! I love Hannah and Marco! I love Olivia and Nate! I love Jo and Cam! I love Ellie and Adam! I freaking love Joss and the love of my life Braden Carmichael! Plus the new addition to the family, Grace and Logan! All of the characters have come such a long way and I was more than happy to be with them every step of the way!
This final installment will leave you captivated and satisfied. I will surely miss these characters deeply. *sniffs* Thank you Samantha Young for a wonderful series!
