A cursed ring. A forgotten grave. A magical enemy. Can Annabella escape her family’s fate?Annabella has done her best to put behind her all memories of her childhood being raised as an unwanted ward in the gothic family mansion. As the secretary to the flamboyant Errol, Duke of Winchester, she’s seen the world and avoided her family’s clutches. But now she must return to that elegantly-decayed, … elegantly-decayed, antebellum house on the historic Battery in Charleston, South Carolina, where the “moonlight and magnolias” atmosphere hides some deadly family secrets. Returning for the wake of her aged relative, Henrietta, who hasn’t left her South of Broad showplace for decades, Annabella walks into the chilly embrace of her Cousin Beatrix and the woman’s much-too-attractive new assistant, Armand, whose words of encouragement and warning keep arriving inexplicably in her mind.
In just a few hours, the house reclaims her. She finds herself waking up in her deceased relative’s bed and clothes, Henrietta’s ring on an unremovable chain around her neck. And, even as she begins to realize that magic is real and her friends and Armand hope to save her with it, it’s starting to look as though the terrifying mansion and its demonic secrets may never let her leave.
Katherine Gilbert, author of the quirky urban fantasies Protecting the Dead and Unearthly Remains, shows a more serious side in this chilling Southern Gothic tale (but not without a bit of quirk!). On a Gilbert wackiness scale of 1-to-10 sarcastic talking cats, this one is about a 3.
Warning: Not all stories contain talking cats. Wackiness may take other forms.

They can be read either in order or as stand-alones and will introduce you to a variety of fascinating characters, as they take you to various parts of this unusual earth.

Moonlight, Magnolias, and Magic is the fourth book in the More in Heaven and Earth series. I really enjoyed this book. It kept my attention throughout with the good vs evil and not knowing who to trust. The characters are well developed and the storyline is well written, with suspense, intrigue, chills, and thrills. The author does a good job of bringing the reader into the story with the descriptive narratives.

Love beats evil. I would have give this book more stars but the writing was odd. Antiquated sentences and wording. Even though the first page makes it clear the story takes place in the 21st century. Because of this, some of the sentences were wordy, and didn’t flow when reading. I also wish the author had taken the time at the beginning to give us more of Annabelle’s history and what she had gone through with Beatrice in her younger years. I couldn’t really identify with Annabelle, and about 50 pages in, I was going to give up on reading the book. The beginning needs to draw the reader in and make you want to continue reading. The reader doesn’t really find out what Annabelle went through until well into the book. And Annabelle is kept in the dark about what is going on until the very end. Even after she and her friends have taken care of the demon. Her friends have to explain everything to her. Everyone kept secrets from her. At the beginning of the book I didn’t even know whether the Duke and Tillie were really her friends or were forcing her and controlling her. The book was very confusing at times. In spite of my complaints, the good against evil part of the story was good and surprising. Again when they confront the demon I wish the author had tried to describe him better so we could be drawn into how scary he probably was. The author just said he kept changing his appearance and it was evil. That’s a cop out. The reader needs to really get a feel for how scary he is, so we can have empathy for the heroes fighting against it. After reading this story it wasn’t enough to make me want to read another story by this author. SORRY. I receive a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

ONE DARK AND DEADLY ADVENTURE!!!
Deep, dark and twisted! Katherine tapped deep as she spun this deep dark web, weaving a world around us so tightly until everything else ceases to exist. A churning vortex of frightening activities and a bevy of ominous events that keep you flipping page after page. One thrilling storyline and gripping plot blasts this bad boy to staggering heights. Twists and turns abound with vexing circumstances that really pull this bad boy together piece by jagged piece. Sparks fly as chilling danger, intense drama and electrifying suspense propel this disturbing bad boy to life beautifully. The characters are authentic, approachable and realistic with personalities and depth that blew this baby wide open and exposed in all it’s unholy glory. The scenes are so vividly detailed and descriptive that it gives the illusion you were right there in the middle of ground zero with them. Remarkable job Katherine, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
This is a well written book with a chilling story line. The author does a great job developing the story and pulls you in with a cast of colorful characters and a dark magic. She brings the story to life with her descriptive writing and vividly painted scenes. I was glued to the pages right to the end reading this interesting story. It moves fluidly and is an entertaining book and I would recommend reading.

Being a proper Southern lady is hard when you are a wicked demon controlled puppet. Annabelle is in danger from her demon cousin. The mansion Annabelle has returned to may change her life forever. Will love and magic be enough to save her and her friends. Read the book to find out and you will not be sorry. It was impossible to put down this book, it held my interest throughout. Highly recommend this book to al magic lovers.
