A humorous twist on the vampire myth, “Moon Dance” is the first in what Is, so far, a 12 book series, which Amazon very accurately described as “True Blood meets Stephanie Plum”. Samantha Moon, federal agent/soccer mom with a day job, a van, two kids, and a husband, was attacked by a vampire and turned six years ago. She tries to hide the truth …
A fun, paranormal mystery series!
I enjoyed it. It’s definitely a good change of pace. I really liked the sunblock. Not to mention the Hunter. Samantha is a very intriguing character but I also really liked Kingsley and Sherbet. I hope to see them more in the coming books. I hope Danny gets what’s coming to him.
Fair warning! For lovers of all things vampire, this series is addictive. Each book has a complete and compelling story. I loved the premise and it delivers. Romance is present, but it’s spread out through the whole series and a bit on the light side. But if you like vampire mysteries, this series is for you.
Detective, Mom, and Vampire?
Moon Dance is the first book in the Vampire for Hire series. The main character Samantha Moon was attacked six years ago and became a vampire as a result of that. Her new condition forced her to give up being a Federal agent and she became a private detective. She is also a mom with two kids and a marriage that is on …
I usually don’t like books with vampires because they are usually the villains of the story. I really appreciated Samantha Moon. I thought it was a great way to introduce a vampire world through the eyes of someone who has become a vampire and who is trying to continue her human life.
I really got into this book and is one of the few urban …
An Intriguingly Different, & Quirky Delve into Vampirism…
I wasn’t initially sold on this book as the beginning read a bit stiff and sleepy with a lot of seemingly unnecessary descriptive noise reminiscent of George R.R. Martin’s, A Song of Fire and Ice series. A set of books containing enough mind numbing pages about jewels on dresses, and the …
The beginning of a really fun and, wicked, wild ride! Can’t wait to read the rest of the books!
Totally different take on a vampire story. Read like a normal setting on someone dealing with an “illness” without really saying what she was really sick from. Enjoyed it from start to end; finished it within a day and it doesn’t end in a cliff hanger, but leaves you wanting to know what happens to Samantha and Kingsley or Fang. %-)
Samantha Moon is amazing!
Loved the moon series! Great read
One of the books that every fan of Urban Fantasy should read.
Moon Dance
Vampire for Hire, Book 1
By: J. R. Rain
Narrated by: Dina Pearlman
This is an audible book I really got into right away. It is a turned vampire, a mom of two, her husband finds her repulsive, and she is a PI. It is a very exciting story and gets you into the characters and I really loved it. I see why this is such a popular series.
The …
This book was nothing like I expected, but once I started it, I was hooked until the end. I couldn’t get enough of the fresh, sparkling dialogue in particular. Not a standard romance with a definite HEA, but the the groundwork was set for that to happen in future books in the series, for sure. Give this one a go!
A different look at strong women, Vampires!
J.R. Rain, author, turns federal agent Samantha Moon into a vampire PI and gifts readers with a super fun, action packed series. Filled with creative and unpredictable twists and turns!!! I enjoy the series through kindle unlimited. I have been reading since the series started. Now up to 14 books. For me, this series is a Must Read as soon as each …
