THE FIRST MERCY THOMPSON NOVEL!Moon Called is the novel that introduced Patricia Briggs’s Mercy Thompson to the world and launched a #1 bestselling phenomenon… Mercy Thompson is a shapeshifter, and while she was raised by werewolves, she can never be one of them, especially after the pack ran her off for having a forbidden love affair. So she’s turned her talent for fixing cars into a business … talent for fixing cars into a business and now runs a one-woman mechanic shop in the Tri-Cities area of Washington State.
But Mercy’s two worlds are colliding. A half-starved teenage boy arrives at her shop looking for work, only to reveal that he’s a newly changed werewolf—on the run and desperately trying to control his animal instincts. Mercy asks her neighbor Adam Hauptman, the Alpha of the local werewolf pack, for assistance.
But Mercy’s act of kindness has unexpected consequences that leave her no choice but to seek help from those she once considered family—the werewolves who abandoned her…
“In the increasingly crowded field of kick-ass supernatural heroines, Mercy stands out as one of the best.”—Locus

Love the series!
Can’t wait to read another one of Briggs’ books!
Would read it again
This is a good series for people who like Ilona Andrews
Love all the Mercy books. Reread them frequently.
If you haven’t read this series get started now!
I love the way Patricia Briggs puts actual wolf behaviors into her werewolves. Mercy, the main character, (not a werewolf, by the way, but I’ll let you discover her story as you read the book) is one of my favorites. If you love urban fantasy, I highly recommend this series.
After reading book after book and getting tired of the same or similar stories I went searching for something new and more original! That’s when I found “The Mercy Thompson” books. I started with the collection of books 1-5, and couldn’t put it down until I finished reading all five books. Immediately following 1-5, I read book after book until I realized I finished the latest released book then book8. Loving the series, and not finished with it yet, I looked for more and started reading the Alpha & Omega series until I too finished that series as well. I can’t even say how much I love these books! I’ll continue to look for more books that follow these series! I just can’t get enough.
I love Patricia Briggs and the Mercedes Thompson series. It was my first introduction to the urban fantasy genre and I’ve just fallen in love with her writing style and the worlds she creates. This series is super entertaining and full of great characters, kick-butt action, and great twists and turns. I can’t wait for her to write more books!
Great book
I love this series and the spin-off.
This whole series of books is fantastic! I have read all of them and can’t wait for the next one to come out!
I have read all of Patricia Briggs’ books that I can find and have thoroughly loved every single one of them!
The whole series is great. The Mercy universe is fantastic and the characters are unique and well developed. A must for urban fantasy readers.
I absolutely love this series. Can’t get enough!
A book that has so much paranormal activity your head will spin! On top of that you have Murder, kidnapping, blackmail and so much more. If you like paranormal books with a bit of action then look no further as you have found it!
Great book. Keeps your interest from start to finish. Couldn’t put it down!
I read all or her books as soon as they are available.
Love this book. It’s page turner. Lots of action.
Love this whole series!
I loved the strong female lead that didn’t detract from the strength of the male characters to prove that she was strong. Mercy is fierce yet feminine
The reread of this was still a pretty solid four star read for me. Having read all the books currently out in the Mercyverse, it’s kind of astonishing to go back to book one and see how Briggs defined things in just the right way – not too much or too litte – so she could use them later. The genius of that is mind boggling.
I can also see how Briggs has developed quite a bit over this series (and the Alpha & Omega series). Her writing isn’t bad in Moon Called, not by any means, she’s just grown a lot since this.
It’s also been about six years since I first started this series, as you might imagine I really needed this refresher on how things start off.
