The Montgomery Ink saga continues with an unforgettable romance where two best friends make a bet that could change their lives forever.Bristol Montgomery and Marcus Stearn have been best friends for so long, they sometimes forget when they weren’t as close as they are now. While friends and family think there’s something beneath the surface of their friendship, the two have always been steadfast … steadfast in their stance on no heated looks or deeper feelings.
The problem? Years ago, they promised each other that if neither of them was married by the time Bristol turned thirty, they’d marry each other.
Even though both have long since decided never to force the other into an arranged marriage, circumstances and sheer stubbornness force them to refuse to back out of their deal.
Now, they’re determined to get married—even as dangerous exes and feelings they deny, block their path.

So sweet! That is how I would describe this story, it’s just sweet and romantic and a good love story. It starts a little unusual, and I was not sure if this was going to be romantic, I honestly was a little concerned about the relationship and if it was genuine. But the story, and characters, kept developing and getting better. I love how in this relationship Marcus and Bristol are so focused on each other’s well-being, and it also shows that even with the best intentions communication is key in a relationship. Of course, there is some tension and even some action in the story, but it is a real romance novel. It did leave some story ends not completely tied up, so I’m hoping that we will see more of this couple. I also read the bonus epilogue, which I would recommend reading if you like the story, and it did end up the story amazingly!
I like how this story still seems original even though it is a genre that has millions of stories and where it is hard not to read something that feels like a dime in a dozen. Recently I’ve felt like this with romances a lot and I am so grateful that that was not the case with Embraced in Ink because I really love the Montgomerys and I do not want to lose that love.
I would recommend this novel!
I loved Bristol and Marcus. There is just something special about a friends to lovers story. Maybe it’s the fact that they have known each other forever and know everything about each other. They have a truely strong friendship that has lasted through all of their life changes. That transition from friends to becoming lovers is never easy or seamless. It really adds to the story.
I received a free copy of this book from the author.
Embraced in Ink is third book in the Montgomery Ink: Boulder series but it can be read as a standalone. This book features Bristol Montgomery and her BFF Marcus Stearn. They’ve been glued to each others sides since they were little kids. During Bristol’s graduation party they promised if they weren’t married in 10 years that they’d tie the knot.
So let’s fast forward to through those 10 years. Each coming into their own with their careers. His as a librarian and hers as a world renowned cellist. Neither are married or in a relationship. So guess what that means?
They might have talked themselves out of it if it wasn’t for one of their mothers overhearing the two talk about engagement and being so excited she told everyone. Them’s the breaks right?
Do or die time here folks! How hard would it be to pretend you’re engaged to your BFF and never have been together as more than friends? Awkward! They work on it though. Their feeling are mutual they just need to get that out in the open first.
Of course it can’t be smooth sailing cuz you know Bristol’s ex is a pain in the butt and has to try to swing his weight around. *insert eye roll here.*.
If you enjoy contemporary romances this author and her books should be on your TBR list. The Montgomery’s especially. They’re a close knit family and help one another tremendously. It’s heartwarming to see each HEA.
Embraced in Ink really does make you feel embraced in the Montgomery Family. After all it is a family where everyone is welcomed. The story started off so sweetly giving us Bristol and Marcus as well as the rest of the family. Then of course there is heartache that makes you want to cry and shake them both. I loved knowing both of their backgrounds, and seeing where their future lies. It was truly a heartfelt read. While the story is part of a large family of Montgomery’s, I don’t feel like you need to have read any of them previously to enjoy being part of this one.
Loved it. It is very well written. Love how the other characters from the other Montgomery books come into play. And there is always cheese at the parties. So you must read and see if best friends can become lovers
Here is another fantastic Montgomery book. Bristol Montgomery and Marcus Stearn have been best friends for forever. Will these two go forward with an old promise that they made to each other, will they allow there hearts to lead them, or will people from their past succeed at separating them. This is a heartfelt story that moves you.
Another great read by this author. So much emotion and heart in this story. Sometimes the lines of communication are blocked. Bristol and Marcus are best friends then that are more and everything falls apart. Such a well written romance with a great ending. I received an advanced copy of this book and freely leave this honest review.
I love a good friends-to-lovers romance and this one was great. It was fun in that Marcus and Bristol denied their feelings but also couldn’t back out of their promise. It was fun to watch them together and get to know them more. There is some angst but the journey of them discovering their true feelings and not backing out kept me glued to the end.
Finally. Bristol and Marcus have been friends for years. Everyone always wondered if they were secretly dating. They come up with a plan that if they are still single by the time they are thirty, they will marry each other. Not wanting to hurt her feelings, Marcus agrees. Years later, suddenly they are engaged and trying to figure out how to make it work. I loved how their friendship only grows throughout the story. Things get in the way bit they learn to overcome and find a way to be. I definitely recommend this book.
Love this series
Love the Montgomeries
Intense emotional broken heartstopping amazing beautiful love story of Bristol and Marcus
ready for more
Embraced in Ink is the third book in the Montgomery ink: Boulder series. This is Bristol and Marcus’ story and one of my favorite tropes, friends to lovers! Bristol and Marcus have been been friends for most of their lives. When they were younger they made a deal, if they were both single by the age of 30 they would marry each other. They are now 30, will they carry out the agreement they made years ago? Will these to friends fall in love and get their happily ever after
Loved how this book started, 10 years in the past and our first look at the pact Bristol and Marcus made. I have always enjoyed Bristol but this time, all eyes are on her and trying to figure out how to handle the situation when Marcus’s sister overhears something she shouldn’t have. Anytime we get to spend time with the Montgomery family (kind of like a cult, which I loved) is awesome and of course Marcus’s family is right in there as well, along with their match-making mothers. It was interesting to watch these two navigate this new situation they were in and unfortunately Colin had to meddle and cause problems and really go over the top with Bristol. That guy deserves every bad thing that can happen to him. I am glad that Marcus and Bristol finally had an honest conversation and got their feelings out there. These two deserve all the good things and then so much more. Looking forward to seeing what is next for these two as well as what happens in Aaron’s book.
You know how best-friends say if they’re not married by a certain time then they’ll get married to each other (like Rachel & Phoebe we’re picking between Ross & Joey on Friends)? Well that’s what Bristol & Marcus did on on her 20th birthday. If by her 30th they weren’t married to other people, they would marry each other. Best-friends forever. Jump 10 years and Bristols 30th birthday party and “Walla”, besties engaged. What follows is the two of them trying to figure out true feelings (and having a darn good time doing it), but not communicating as much as they should. Also add in a pompous Brit, and you know there could be some ish’s. This is the Montgomery clan, so you know it’ll be a great read!
Two best friends forever who want more but are afraid to ruin what they have. I liked these two and their connection but I felt there was a lot of repetition in the internal dialogue.
Bristol and Marcus just melted my heart. They are so perfect for each other. This book has all the feels. It has angst galore. I wanted to slap Colin a few times. If you love best friends to lovers then this is the book for you. It flows so easily. It is a very easy and delightful read! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A spur of the moment bet- or her subconscious taking control??
Lord save us from pacts made in the spur of the moment…..or maybe Bristol’s subconscious has had enough and decided to take control??
Love Bristol and Marcus story. The way both of them are as stubborn as the other and both are as equally reluctant to admit their feelings to themselves – never mind each other!
Sit back and enjoy another fabulous Montgomery story. I know I read this without stopping and with only 2 pots of tea!! I wasnt gonna put it down til I finished it!
I have been waiting anxiously for Marcus and Bristol’s story and I wasn’t disappointed. Another awesome book in this series. Once I started reading it, I didn’t want to put it down. Carrie Ann Ryan is an amazing writer and I would recommend any of her books.
Loved this story of two best friends who find that going to the next step in a relationship is scary and hard. But, it can be so worth it. Don’t miss the bonus story to know how it ends.
A best friend to lovers with the Montgomery Ink setting equals awesomeness! Bristol and Marcus takes friendship to a new level when a promises become so much more. I loved the realistic storyline with the likable characters that draws you in this story of friendship and love that was written in the stars. Steamy loving, great chemistry and a HEA makes this newest release a must read! If you been craving for another read from this series that keeps on giving than this is for you. I can’t wait more!
Yes…Yes…and Yes!!!! This is what I needed! A new Montgomery Ink book by my favorite, Carrie Ann Ryan!!
Bristol and Marcus had me shaking my head a few times over. I yelled at these characters while loving them whole heartily. Their story makes you swoon and at the end, smiling ear to ear. There is a bit of drama thrown in the mix, but you also get the family love you always crave in these books. A dash of angst was added and you end up with perfection!! Embraced in Ink is a new favorite added to my book list!
