The Montgomery Ink saga continues with an unforgettable romance where two best friends make a bet that could change their lives forever.Bristol Montgomery and Marcus Stearn have been best friends for so long, they sometimes forget when they weren’t as close as they are now. While friends and family think there’s something beneath the surface of their friendship, the two have always been steadfast … steadfast in their stance on no heated looks or deeper feelings.
The problem? Years ago, they promised each other that if neither of them was married by the time Bristol turned thirty, they’d marry each other.
Even though both have long since decided never to force the other into an arranged marriage, circumstances and sheer stubbornness force them to refuse to back out of their deal.
Now, they’re determined to get married—even as dangerous exes and feelings they deny, block their path.

Everything and more than you could ever want in a book is in this one…All of the emotions just flow from the pages right into your heart. I LOVED IT!!!
Loved these two characters. The fact they were friends for a long time before they fell in love makes me swoon. Definitely a must read by Carrie Ann Ryan.
Embraced in Ink is exactly what I needed. Haven’t we all made a bet like this with our best friends as kids? If you are not married by a certain age, you marry each other? Bristol and Marcus did just that and now it is time to back up their words with action. These two will face obstacles that include their feelings. But when they connect, look out because they are so hot together. Loved their story so much!
Embraced in Ink is book three in Carrie Ann Ryan’s Montgomery Ink: Boulder series. This book follows Bristol Montgomery and Marcus Stearn. Each book in the series are stand-alones with HEA.
Bristol Montgomery and Marcus Stearn have been friends since childhood. Growing up together with a strong friendship and family relationship, they make a pact that if they are still single by the time they turn thirty they will marry each other. The time has come and they are both single and back in each other’s lives. Will they go through with the pact or will something or someone stop them?
I do have to be honest and say that this wasn’t one of the best books that I have read by Carrie Ann Ryan. I felt that there was a little too much inner monologue and the constant back and forth with their emotions drove me a little crazy. But this in no way reflects poorly on ms Ryan’s capability as a writer. Her books are always an alluring and addictive read. I just felt that I wasn’t able to connect with these characters.
Love a good marriage pact. I love a good friends to lovers story. Bristol and Marcus have been friends since they were kids. They figured that they would always be the best of friends. Then when Bristol is about to go off to start her musical career she is afraid she’s going to loose him while she’s gone so she has him promise they will marry each other if they aren’t married by the time they hit 30. Neither one though this would actually come to pass and then there’s the fact that Marcus is actually having feelings for her before they realize it. I loved watching them navigate their relationship. Her ex comes in to make things interesting and the fireworks ensue. Another great installment in the Montgomery world.
I really love this book. The friends to lovers is a really hard genre to write but Carrie Ann Ryan really excels! Every time I pick up a book of hers, I feel like I am coming home. The characters are real and genuine.
Bristol and Marcus story was good. Love the pact idea. Great story for the two. I like how this shows that relationship are not all sunshine and roses and communication is key. I would have liked to see more with Marcus’s daily life and such but it was still good with what was in the story for him. The big Bristol event was great situation. It was a nice touch to cut straight to home and not longer in the hospital recovery. As always I really liked the epilogue in a storyline so I can hav a just that little bit extra. Can’t wait for the next story in the Montgomery series.
This was another really enjoyable story. Plenty of drama, lovely interaction and a great friends to lovers read.
The audiobook for Embraced in Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan was a best friends to lovers romance with a twist! Would you take a promise you made years ago seriously? Bristol and Marcus would not think so and yet, they find themselves going down a path neither expected. Narrated by Jason Clarke, whom I love as a narrator, he truly brought this story to life for me.
When they promised each other to marry if neither was married by 30, you do not take that seriously, right? Friends since they were kids, Marcus and Bristol have always been the best of friends, but could there be more there? Though their families were excited for them, there are others who are not. Can they see what was always there before it was too late? I absolutely loved the emotional and passionate romance between these friends to lovers in Embraced in Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan. Definitely a must-read/listen!
Happy listening!
These Montgomery’s just keep getting better and better with each spin-off. This time around we have Marcus and Bristol and I am loving them they were just too stubborn for their own good. I could not imagine that Ms. Ryan could come up with an even more stubborn Montgomery than previous ones but I should have known she could and she would. I loved this story from beginning to end and I cannot wait until the next story comes.
This series has been going on forever now but it’s still going strong. I loved this friends to lovers book. I really enjoyed the concept of friends sticking to their pact of marrying each other by a certain age. It really gives you hope in man kind. I had all the feels in the story and you will too, it can be read as stand alone like the rest of the series but I suggest reading in order to get the full effect! Can’t wait for more, I’ll never get enough!
Of all of the Montgomery books, I think this one hits in my top favorites. I absolutely love childhood friends to lovers, but throw in this not quite arranged marriage and I am in love. Bristol and Marcus struggle with everyone already thinking that they are a couple when they are only best friends, but as a means to not lose their friendship they decide that if they are both single on Bristol’s 30th bday that they will get married, but they must remain friends over the ten years to make sure they aren’t marrying a stranger. Instead of bonding them closer this bargain actually strains their friendship as they both try to avoid the possibility of losing each other. I loved the twist with Bristol I honestly didn’t see it coming but I am glad in the end it brought them closer together!
Book 3 Montgomery ink Boulder by Carrie Ann Ryan
Bristol and Marcus have been bad since they were 6 but at Bristol’s 20th birthday they promise agree to marry each other if they aren’t with anyone by there 30th birthday.
I love that they keep a close relationship even when they both go there separate ways and eventually end up back together again.
Deep down inside I think they both had feelings for each other but never expressed it until Bristol proposal is over seen by family members and they have to up the fake engagement.
While they were in fake engagement they get very close and very affectionate that surprised both of them.
Absolutely love this author and this series.
Bristol Montgomery is following her dream of being a world renown Cellist. Her best friend, Marcus Stern, stayed local and is keeping the home fires burning.
When they were 20, they vowed to marry each other if neither were married by 30.
So, here’s what happens. They decide to see what happens and Marcus’s sister over hears them talking and blurts out their secret. So they begin their relationship while trying to figure things out. Past relationships threatened their happiness, some mis communications add to their distress.
I enjoyed this story very much, I read and listened as well.
I would definitely recommend
Ever since they were children Bristol and Marcus have been each other’s best friend through all the ups and downs that life has to offer. Significant others on both their parts have come and gone but their relationship only gets stronger which is evidenced by the agreement they made ten years ago that if they weren’t married by the time was 30 they would marry each other.
That day has now arrived and neither of have forgotten their agreement but the don’t want to do anything to ruin the friendship they share. A conversation that is overheard leads to their families believing they are engaged so the decision appears to have been made for them.
Everyone in their lives knew that they were destined to be more than friends and now is was time for them to realize it as well. There journey definitely had its ups and down as not only are they facing their own doubts and insecurities, but an outside force is willing to use that to further their own agenda. Bristol and Marcus are compelling characters and it was great to catch up with everyone we know and love from this series as well.
I really enjoyed this book. Bristol and Marcus have been best friends since childhood. They make a pact that if they haven’t married by the time Bristol turns 30 then they will marry each other. What follows is a story of miscommunications and missteps that they each make. They know that their feelings have changed from friendship to actual love, but are they willing to risk their relationship not knowing how the other feels. When fate intervenes, they must decide on where to take their relationship. Loved the characters and seeing the other family members!
Bristol and Marcus have been best Friends forever but a promise made to each other changes everything!!!! I loved there story!!! Can’t wait for Aaron’s story!!!!!
I have really enjoyed this friends to lovers story. Bristol and Marcus have been friends forever. They figured that they would always be that way. When Bristol goes to start her musical career she is afraid she may loose him while away and so she has him promise to marry each other if they aren’t married by the time they are each 30. She never planned for the time to come that they would have to follow through with it. While reading the story you feel they both have felt more for years but don’t want to ruin what they have on a possibility of something more. I loved watching them navigate their relationship. Then throw in her ex and things get more interesting. Great addition to the Montgomery world.
I really loved this story! I loved the different take on the friends to lovers and really loved Bristol and Marcus. We have seen them in the previous books in the series and I loved getting to really delve into their friendship and relationship while getting to know them better. I loved getting to see the other Montgomery’s as well. This story is written really well and held my attention from beginning to end. I was pulled in by the characters and was not ready to leave when the book was over. There is plenty to hold your attention and I really enjoyed the way that the story flowed and relationship built. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series as well!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Bristol and Marcus’s story is a true Friends to Lovers romance. Everyone already thinks these two are dating but will keep the promise of a bet them made 10 years ago. Sometimes taking the next step with the one person who knows you better then your own family is hard. And sometimes falling for your best friends is just meant to be.
Another great story by the wonderful and always addicting writer. I am so looking forward to more books and new couples from Carrie Ann.
