Such an interesting and fun read! I really enjoyed the characters and they and the story quickly drew me in.I was hooked from the very start of the book. It was a sweet love story and although the main characters, Amanda and Blake, were best friends, did they truly know each other and what the other wanted?
The book brought back other familiar people from previous stories and I loved that continuity and feeling of knowing them. The story was set in Montana at the Blackwell Ranch with lots of family members to add to the excitement of babies and weddings. Yet, life isn’t always perfect and Amanda has a situation that causes her so much concern.
This was a very enjoyable read and I highly recommend it!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
Amanda’s whole world is changing. Her sister is moving to Montana. marrying some guy the rest of the family doesn’t know and her best friend, Blake, is engaged to someone else. She has loved Blake for a long time, but she is holding on to a secret that would change their whole relationship and she just can’t do that to him. So, she just pretends to be happy for him. He thinks their relationship will not change when he marries, but she knows better. Blake has been in love with Amanda, but she has made it plain that she only wants to be friends. How can he marry someone else when he really loves Amanda? It isn’t fair to his fiancee, but he wants a big family and Amanda has made it plain that it can’t be with her. What to do?
Amanda Harrison protects those she loves even at the expense of herself. In the past couple of months there has been a lot of upheaval in her life, first her mother dies, then she finds out her father is not who she thought he was, the triplet she is closest to disappears to Montana and now she finds out that her best friend is getting married and their friendship will inevitably change despite them being business partners. I loved the relationship between Amanda and Blake and the dilemma she faced was truly heartbreaking. Highly recommended.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I am never disappointed when the Blackwells are around. Amanda is a care giver. She cares for everyone else and puts herself last. Blake is her best friend since forever. They head to Montana because she can’t believe her sister Lily is really happy there. She knows what’s best for everyone and sacrifices her happiness so others will be happy.
The collaboration between the authors of the Blackwell series is spot on. They each write a story while maintaining the complete storyline throughout.
Loved this book. It’s part of a series by several different authors who have wrote a similar series which tie into this one. It’s not required to read this one.
Amanda Harrison doesn’t know what has gotten into her sister. She’s gone and fallen for a cowboy so hard. The day of her wedding she’s off to Montana with said cowboy.
Amanda is going to Montana to talk some sense into Lily. It also seems her best friend Blake Collins is taking the leap, and she doesn’t know how to be happy for him. When he offers to drive with her.
See what happens.
I highly suggest to read the first book by Melinda Curtis called Montana Welcome.
“Montana Wishes” by Amy Vastine is book 2 of The Blackwell Sisters miniseries.
Amanda Harrison travels to Montana with the hope of bringing her sister, Lily (“Montana Welcome”), back home to California. Along for the ride is Blake Collins, her best friend and the man she’s been in love with for years.
Blake knows Amanda’s life is changing and he wants to be there for her like he’s been ever since they were kids. He just has to keep his feelings for her a secret since she’s made it clear they can’t be more than friends.
But what he doesn’t know, Amanda is keeping another secret to herself.
Ms. Vastine gives us a story with deep, emotional impact mixed with the right amount of humor.
This series, a clean romance, centers around five sisters who recently discover that the man they had called Dad all their lives, really isn’t. A shock to all of them , especially since they are now members of the wealthy Montana Blackwells.
This second story centers around one of the triplets, Amanda Harrison. She’s always been the “go to” sister . Now with all the changes, including her sister Lily moving to Montana, and Amanda finding out that she will be needing surgery in the near future, a surgery that will change her future and her life, Amanda is out of sorts. Even more so when her best friend, and the man she’s been in love for a long time, just got engaged.
Blake Collins has been secretly in love with Amanda, but she refused him once. He wants a big family and decided it was time to get married.
The story is filled with angst, a jealous girlfriend, secrets, a new family and change.
For me, it was just ok. A little slow moving and repetitive . I would suggest that if the reader hasn’t read book one, it is important that they do. It will help understand the theme and the secondary characters in the story.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
(I give this 4.5 stars.) With this second “lost” Blackwell sister, we get to see more and more of the family that Big E is trying to bring back together. Because it is about a ‘second’ sister, I would at least recommend reading book one but it isn’t required to enjoy.
This time we are learning about Amanda Harrison. She is having trouble dealing with her dad, Rudy Harrison, not telling her or her sisters that they are really Blackwells. This is the part you will have to read for yourself as the authors do a much better job than I explaining the overall story. She also has a major health issue that she has kept from her sisters and her best friend Blake Collins. Her story is all about trying to get her twin sister to move back home to Southern CA from Montana, trying to be happy for her BFF Blake on his engagement (did I mention she is secretly in love with him??), and trying to deal with this other…family that just doesn’t seem right to her.
My heart broke for Amanda but she really needed to open up to her sisters and to Blake. And I loved Blake – absolutely adorable! His fiancé was the perfect character to totally dislike and yes, I did!
I am enjoying the new series about the missing Blackwell Sisters. Love reading about the Blackwell Brothers (from a previous series) and other characters we’ve met and some are still as smart aleck-y as they have always been. Amanda and Blake have a tough road to their HEA but it is all worth it in the end.
Montana Wishes is the second in the Blackwell Sisters series but can be read as a stand alone, however I suggest reading Montana Welcome by Melinda Curtis first. This is Amanda and Blake’s story of best friends to lovers and how secrets can disrupt the solid foundation of friendship. Amanda’s life has basically imploded, she found out the father she has known all her life is not her biological father and she has a large extended family. Her sister, Lily, is getting married and staying in Montana and now her best friend, Blake, is engaged. Blake is a single child who always dreamed of having a large family just like his best friend Amanda. Just after becoming engaged to his girlfriend, he agrees to a road trip with Amanda who is driving her sister’s belongings to Montana. This trip is potentially a recipe for disaster because both are secretly in love with each other but neither is willing to act on those feelings for fear of ruining their existing friendship. The story that follows is engaging, emotional, heartwarming and entertaining. Amy Vastine is a new to me author but did a wonderful job with this story and I plan to read more of her books.
I received an advance reader copy from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.
this is another great story in the series Amanda has a job and likes it san diago but her sister wants her to come to the ranch, so her and her best friend blake go on a road trip. will she like it there and her new found family? i liked that they all tried to get along , even with Blakes newly engaged lady, what could happen ? if you like cowboys and surfers and animals you will want to read the book i was given a copy of the book but this is an honest review.
A heartwarming, emotion-packed story about love, family and friends.
Amanda Harrison is not happy to find out that she is actually a Blackwell. Not happy at all. She even had a DNA test done and hoped it proved differently. But she is, indeed, a Blackwell. When her twin sister Lily ran off on her wedding day and left the birth certificate naming Thomas Blackwell as their father Amanda was quite upset. Now Lily is living on the Blackwell Ranch in Montana and engaged to one of the ranch hands. Amanda is determined to talk Lily into returning to San Diego when she arrives at the ranch with Lily’s belongings. Accompanying Amanda on the road trip to Montana is her best friend since they were teens, newly engaged Blake Collins. Amanda and Blake are such close friends they do everything together, even run their pet box business as partners. That is they do everything together except when Blake is dating. And this time Blake’s dating has led to his engagement. This is breaking Amanda’s heart. Amanda loves Blake but there’s a reason she can’t let him know that. She wants Blake to be happy with a wife and children as he constantly talks about. This is going to be a difficult change for her, Lily in Montana and Blake engaged.
Blake Collins just got engaged to Nadia who he has been dating for two months. He’s sure he can be happy with Nadia even though the love of his life is really Amanda Harrison. That dream ended when Amanda told him she just wanted to be friends with him. His goal now is to see Amanda and Nadia become good friends because he wants both of them in his life. He’d do anything for Amanda as proven by the fact he agreed to drive her to the Blackwell Ranch with her sister Lily’s belongings. Their stay there is lots of fun with picnics, spending time in the petting zoo and hatchet throwing games at Battle Axes in town. Oh and there’s the “to die for” Chocolate Junkies, chocolate donuts they share each morning having breakfast at the Maple Bear Bakery. When Nadia shows up at the ranch unexpectedly there is tension. Amanda and Nadia are not doing so well at becoming good friends. What to do? What to do?
Montana Wishes by Amy Vastine is the second book in the Harlequin series The Blackwell Sisters. This story if full of fun, laughter, best friends and tough emotional decision. Author Amy Vastine tackles the tough emotional subject of infertility and how the condition affects peoples’ lives in this book. Amanda suffers with endometriosis and is faced with possibly needing to have a hysterectomy at the young age of twenty-eight. Her recently deceased mother was the only one who knew about her condition. Facing this alone is very tough for Amanda. How she spills the beans on this issue was handled so well by Ms. Vastine. I have enjoyed getting to know Amy Vastine’s writing style in this story.
I loved This book. Thank you NetGalley for a copy of this book. This is the second book in the Blackwell Sisters.
When Amanda hears her sister Lily is getting married to a man in Montana she barley knows she’s stunned to say the least. She’s about to drive and talk some sense into her sister.
Now her best friend is about to do the same.
It surprises her that Blake wants to travel to Montana with her. What will her fiancé say?
Amazing book. Highly suggest.
Preorder now.
To be released on September 1st, 2020
Check out Book 1 by Melinda Curtis called
Montana Welcome
There will be three more books to follow by different authors. These authors also wrote
The Return of the Blackwell Brothers.
Ms. Vastines book in that series is The Ranchers Fiancé. Characters show up in this series. You don’t have to read that series. But it’s a great series.
“Montana Wishes” (The Blackwell Sisters Book 2) by Amy Vastine is a fantastic read. I loved Amanda and Blake’s story. This story is a great addition to this series, packed with romance, family, humor, friends to lovers romance, and more. I’m anxious to see what happens next with the Blackwell sisters, and all of the rest of the Blackwell family. Highly recommend to all fans of romance, family, and series.
I’ve always been a fan of the “best friends to sweethearts” genre. Each one has its own spin to it and I really enjoyed this one. I was surprised to see that a couple people didn’t like it but that’s why there are all kinds of opinions out there! Personally, I really liked the main characters, Amanda and Blake. Blake was a little too pushy in some spots but I felt that he was trying too hard to create an “ideal world” in his own mind like some people do and you just can’t do that because it doesn’t work! Although he and Amanda had fallen in love with each other at some point (they’ve been BFFs since middle school), they don’t tell each other because they don’t want to ruin their friendship. Subsequently, Blake suddenly decides to get engaged to a woman because he want to have a family and he pushes Amanda to be good friends with his fiancee but that doesn’t go well. You can’t force things like that! Meanwhile, Amanda is reeling from the revelation that her father isn’t her biological father and her sister has run off to Montana to marry some guy after knowing him 10 days! There is a lot going on in both Blake and Amanda’s lives but it’s a great story and when they go off to Montana together to take care of some business, interesting things happen. Each book in this series is so good and I eagerly await each one! They are all standalone books though. I recommend the Blackwell books!
I really enjoyed reading the first book in this series and this one was just as good. We got to meet Lily and Conner better. Amanda (Lily’s sister) had it in her mind that she was going to bring Lily home. She didn’t think that Lily really knew what she wanted so she asked her best friend Blake to go with her to take Lily her thinks but to also try and talk Lily into returning to San Diego with them.
Of course Blake went along with her but they were both surprised when they reached Montana. The Blackwells were hard for Amanda to not like them. Conner was nicer than she thought, and Lily appeared to be so much in love that Amanda knew she would be returning without her.
The story was told so well and of course I left a lot of the parts out but I think you will enjoy this series as much as I did.
Couldn’t put this book down! I really love the characters in this story. Amanda has a secret that is keeping her from accepting the love of her best friend. Then he gets engaged to someone else, and she is devastated. Blake decides to drive with Amanda to Montana and they discover that love does conquer all of you are willing to take a risk.
Deeply emotional best-friends-to-lovers romance!
Quick content warning: this story focuses on a woman’s infertility issues, without any magic answers.
Amanda and Blake have been best friends since high school, but knowing she can’t give him the family he’s always wanted keeps her from letting their relationship advance. Preferring to be the one who helps fix everyone else’s problems, she refuses to let anyone know about her secret. As much as he might want more, Blake has resigned himself to accepting whatever level of friendship he can from Amanda, and is trying to move on with Nadia.
They agree to drive to Montana to help her sister, Lily, move permanently to the Blackwell Ranch. This time together doesn’t hold a lot of surprises, but even though we know what has to happen to secure their HEA, there’s a quiet beauty in how it is executed. This is not a story of a couple falling in love; rather, it’s a story of a couple who have been in love forever but they need a little help sorting through a mountain of obstacles that life has dealt them.
There’s enough humor here to lighten the mood and keep the story from too much despair, but the strong emotional interplay between Amanda and Blake is coupled with a heartwarming focus on expanding one’s definition of family as Amanda adds a whole slew of cousins and their spouses and children to her own family tree.
The all-secrets-revealed scene was well worth waiting for, and so beautifully done it nearly brought me to tears. I loved the subsequent family conference call and how her sisters rallied around her and Blake, offering support and suggestions in equal measure. All in all, this was a terrific book that could easily be read on its own but it’s infinitely better as part of the overall series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
