She has the chance to create the future she wants . . . but first she’ll have to face her past.Young, vibrant, and willing to confront any obstacle in her path, Bree Yarbrough has spent the last few years traveling the world and learning from the great artists. Only, her work has yet to strike a lasting chord. When her hometown mentor reaches out with an opportunity that will set her on the path … that will set her on the path to success, she knows she can’t say no. But once back in Silver Creek, she discovers she isn’t the only one who’s returned home. Justin Cory has as well—and he’s living next door. She may have made a fool of herself over him before, but Bree isn’t the kind of girl to let past mortification stand in the way of something she wants.
The last ten years of Justin Cory’s life has been driven by one focus: go to school, get his physical therapy degree, and return home so he can be there for his mom. But now that he’s back, he can’t stop thinking about the night that changed his life forever—and the guilt he can’t escape. Fun, irresistible, and once-best-friend Bree seems like the perfect distraction. She isn’t sticking around past the holidays, so he doesn’t have to worry she’ll expect more than he can give. But as they spend the season together, stolen mistletoe kisses start to feel all too right. However, with the future uncertain and the past hanging over them, it may take more than mistletoe to get from Christmas to forever.

Bree Yarbrough and Justin Cory were friends as kids and remained close until Justin turned 18 and moved away. Simple explanation for the premise of this story. Fast forward and Bree is back in town, wanting to show Justin that she has moved on…NOT! There is much that happens and their road to an HEA is a bit of a rough haul. Both these characters need to deal with young hurts and awful incidents and learn to forgive each other and most of all, themselves. Montana Mistletoe had a lot of heart and was a great read that I finished in one sitting. It is a part of a series however it can be read as a standalone. I have read and enjoyed all the previous books and recommend them as well but this book can certainly be enjoyed by itself. What a great holiday respite in July!
As my first Christmas romance story of the year, this novella was memorable. These characters stole my heart and won my devotion. Five stars!
A Friends to Lovers Christmas Time
A fast read for me, with low drama occurring around the Christmas Season. Justin and Bree were a great couple, complete opposites attraction, not seeing eye to eye on the issue of love. This had the serious moments mostly based on the past. It also made me laugh at Bree’s antics and reasonings. The heat finally–omgosh, sexy, sweet, hot, spicy all there, but certainly not dominant. I didn’t care for Bree taking off again, but it was the jolt that Justin needed now.
Their parents, mostly Justin’s, were an added bonus with their openness and understanding, along with some home truths that made me tear up.
A sweet HEA that made me chuckle.
A recommended read from me
Christmas in July!
What a fun read. Justin and Bree were best friends forever, until Bree decided to take destiny in her own hands and try to force a romantic relationship with Justin. Embarrassment and deep feelings forced them apart.
Justin has a goal and a constant reminder of why he must have that goal. He’s reached his goal and mastered his work life, but he still harbors guilt from long ago. Can he let the guilt go and move forward?
Bree has been traveling and working on her art since high school and is ‘JUST THIS CLOSE’ to getting her most fervent wish. To go over the top, she needs to come back to her hometown. Can she face and forgive the person who was also there on the most embarrassing day of her life?
Resolution between Justin and Bree is a must, but can they do it? Can they once again be each other’s best friend, or will their relationship deepen?
I really enjoyed this novella that takes us back to Montana and the Wilde’s. This is a total standalone that fills in some gaps and whets our bookish appetite for the next Wilde family adventure!
This latest addition to the Wildes of Birch Bay is a standalone and one to be enjoyed by all.
Justin Cory and Bree Yarbrough were a young couple that were best friends in their youth. But when an accident left Justin’s mother in a wheelchair , he was forever changed.
For Bree all changed when the boy she loved made a fool of her . Causing her to leave the town and the home she loved.
Back after years traveling, Bree is in town to help Justin’s mother with a mural. She is forced to face Justin, now a physcial therapist.
As the old friendship and feelings reignite, Bree is willing to give her heart once again, but the past interfere.
Will this time be the end of the friendship and their love or will Justin find peace within himself?
This audiobook was well narrated and brought the story to life.
Another good addition to the series.
Bree is young, vibrant and willing to confront any obstacle in her path. She spent the last few years traveling the world and learning from great artists. Her work has yet to strike a lasting chord though. When her hometown mentor reaches out with an opportunity that will set her on the path to success, Bree knows she cannot say no. Once back in Silver Creek, she discovers she is not the only one who returned home. Justin has also, and he is living next door. She may have made a fool of herself over him before, but Bree is not the kind of girl to let past mortification sand in the way of something she wants. Now that he is back, he cannot stop thinking about the night that changed his life forever and the guilt he cannot escape. As he and once best friend Bree spend the holiday season together, stolen mistletoe kisses start to fell all too right. With the future uncertain and the past hanging over them, it may take more than mistletoe to get from Christmas to forever. – I admired Bree for taking going after what she wants. Justin was long overdue dealing with his fear. This is the typical romance. They get together, have drama, part, and get back together. Romances to me are so much better without all the drama.
I liked this book. It was easy to read. Always good when you don’t have to try and finish a book.
A heartfelt Christmas novella with fantabulous writing. An old friends-to-lovers/coming home romance. Irresistible Bree and emotionally scarred Adam will warm your heart!
Sidenote: just in case you assume this is a cowboy romance because of the Montana setting–it’s not! It’s straight-up contemporary romance, present day, with a small town vibe.
Friends, enemies, friends, finally lovers
This second chance romance set during the holiday season is a well written book. Montana Mistletoe by Kim Law is a wonderful holiday romance that explores a friends to lovers situation as well as a second chance of sorts. While the second chance is for the deep friendship Justin and Bree shared, it takes perseverance and communication to break through all the stubbornness on both their parts!
While it’s clear to any avid romance reader, these two wonderful characters are made for and destined for each other. Both of them are determined to keep their hearts unaffected and disengaged, when really, it’s entirely too late before that even before this book starts.
I enjoyed the setting, timing and development of Mistletoe Montana. This author kept me engaged in Justin and Bree’s story for, not only because of the holiday theme, but also because of the heart warming second chance that begins with friendship that naturally becomes more.
Overall, a wonderful and enjoyable holiday romance that really warmed my heart this holiday season.
Great book
MONTANA MISTLETOE is a quick easy read. It’s a novella in the Wilde Boys series, so some of the Silver Creek characters are familiar. The outcome is not totally predictable. I enjoyed Bree’s outgoing personality and Justin’s introverted personality. Can love find a way? I really wanted these two to find a way to be together.
A sweet romance for Bree and Justin finding each other just to have the relationship fail again. But true to the Christmas spirit love has a way of fixing things.
Montana Mistletoe is a fantastic contemporary romance by Kim Law. Ms. Law has provided readers with a well-written book. The characters are extraordinary and lovable, my favorite part of the book. Bree was rejected by Justin when she was 18. She’s avoided him since then. Justin has a little angst and guilt going on and doesn’t want a relationship. Bree and Justin’s story is packed with drama, humor and sexy bits. I enjoyed this story from cover to cover and look forward to my next book by Kim Law. Montana Mistletoe is book 4.5 of The Wildes of Birch Bay Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I truly enjoyed reading this book.
Montana Mistletoe is an engaging
& moving story.
It’s a second chance at love.
Bree, has loved Justin forever, till her
rejected her.
Justin, closed off his heart many years
ago. Now that Bree, is back home,
do then have a chance at love?
Delightful characters & romance
make it the perfect holiday read.
I loved everything about this Must
Read Christmas Story!!
Good read but both of the main characters needed to grow up. I am a bit picky but Bree needed to gp to an art school or college. Wandering around the world learning techniques from folks she ran into would not be the education I would recommend.
Never finished-too slow and way too naïve.
I expected this book to be more about Christmas. I was disappointed to read only about a stubborn couple. Too much sex.
Cute story, I enjoyed reading this book
Great read
I just loved this book!
