Veronica Miller is a plumber on a mission—buy out her dad and the family business is finally hers. One big, handsome problem stands in her way. And it’s not a clogged toilet. Jack Reid is the boy she crushed on in high school. Ten years ago, he broke her heart and skipped town. But now he’s back, and he’s definitely no longer a boy. He’s all man—and he’d really like for Veronica to check out his … like for Veronica to check out his pipe. Forced to being roommates, Jack and Veronica have to work through a decade of baggage, disappointment, wanting and unrequited lust.
Even though Veronica’s heart hasn’t yet forgiven Jack, they’ll need more than a pillow berm down the middle of the bed to keep them apart.
In Montana Ice, the second book in the Small Town Romance series, it might be below zero, but Jack and Veronica heat things up.

This is the second book in the Small Town Romance series but you can read it by itself. In Montana Ice we meet Veronica and Jack. These two were classmates through out school and then Jack moved away for college and remained there.
Jack’s uncle called him back home to help with the renovation on his home under false pretenses. Which is quite funny once you read this revelation in the story. 🙂 When he gets there he finds this house uninhabitable and so his uncle says to go to this cabin and where the key is, so on and so forth. Well…this is where Veronica comes into the picture.
Despite their rocky start Veronica and Jack are forced to be around each other for several days. Which helps them clear the air about the animosity they’ve been feeling towards each other. Of course you have some meddling secondary characters which make this part of the book quite funny.
This book is a quick read and will make your heart smile with these characters. Definitely add to your list of books to read!
One of my top 5 authors. I haven’t read a book of hers that I didn’t like. Once you read one of her books, you will be hooked.
It was just okay for me, it still was a good book though.
Loved, loved, loved this book. Something to laugh about and cry about. Looking forward to the next in the series!
awesome
Veronica Miller has never been like the other girls and she’s okay with that. She’s a successful plumber and about to buy her father out of the family business and be sole owner. She doesn’t do relationships though . . .not since her heart was broken in high school. When the person she thinks is breaking and entering into her sister’s house turns out to be her old highschool crush, Veronica’s in for the ride of her life.
Jack Reid couldn’t wait to leave town ten years ago after graduation when the one person worth staying for broke his trust and his heart. Facing personal and professional issues in Miami, he still hops a plane to help out his uncle, only to be knocked out, literally, by the only woman he’s ever really cared for. When meddling relatives and circumstances force them into being temporary roommates will their highschool crush finally be realized or are there too many hard feelings keeping them apart?
Montana Ice was a fabulous second chances romance. Veronica and Jack were unknowingly pulled apart by a prank pulled by Veronica’s twin sister back in highschool. Both thought the other had blown them off and neither realized Violet’s trickery until fate brings them back together ten years later. Their chemistry picks up right where it left off a decade ago, but both are afraid to get too close, as they now live worlds apart.
I loved how intense their feelings were, even after so much time apart and how Jack immediately stepped in to help Veronica when she needed him most. I also adored how Jack comes to realize he can be the guy he once was when living in a small town, rather than the man he became working a job that bordered on the wrong side of morality.
In true Vanessa Vale fashion, the quirky town of Bozeman comes in to play with meddlesome characters such as Goldie, the 70 year old adult toy store and town gossip, an incredibly unlucky stalker and Jasper the snake. The book is a fabulous mix of romance and humor that keeps readers laughing and wondering what could possibly happen next. 4.5 stars for Montana Ice!
This story is about Jack and Veronica’s story. Veronica has an identical twin sister, Violet. Ten years ago, when they were in high school, Jack had trouble keeping the sisters apart, so he just called her Miller. He asked Veronica out on a date, she had a huge crush on him. Then her sister, Violet told her he really wanted to ask Violet out, and took her place. Veronica was crushed and never got over her hurt or anger at Jack. Now Jack is a lawyer in Florida and Veronica is a plumber. When Jack comes back to town and they run Into one another, he makes snarky remarks about the way she tricked him and did the switch with her sister. Things start falling into place and both realize it was Violet who tricked them both. This was a very entertaining book and has some laugh out loud moments. The characters are well developed. I loved it. Read it in one sitting.

The second book in the Small Town Romance series starts off with a freaking hilarious bang … upside someone’s head!
MONTANA ICE takes two people with past interactions and throws them together in a wild romp that had just as much hilarity and situations as the first book in the series. Veronica Miller is totally awesome. No girly girl here! She is a girl that always knew what she wanted and that was to be a plumber, and Jack Reid. But things happen and she only gets the plumbing company, that is until Jack walks back into her life and she knocks him on his butt, literally.
Jack and Veronica together are like a matching being thrown on a flame … combustible! They spark off each other very well and are so perfect for each other. But there is always something that keeps them apart. But boy do they break down the wall and get to the bottom of the past, but now they have to figure out what the future holds for them. What ensues for our intrepid heroine and hero is a series of calamities that are off-putting and hilarious with misconceptions and love in spades.
Definitely a great edition to the series. Goldie is awesome like normal and even a gnome makes a visit (gotta read the first book to understand that tidbit). All in all, a good and funny read!
I LOVED this story. I am not big into second chance stories, but this one really isn’t one. Yes, Veronica and Jack have a past but not in a real romantic way. They were high school friends that both wanted more but never had it because of reasons beyond their control.
But when forces bring them together again 10 years later they have to face what happened back then and a little mystery that is surrounding Veronica. Will Jack be able to help her or make it worse? Will Veronica and Jack be able to get over their past and make a future together? Or will they forever be enemies?
Veronica is a identical twin and is constantly mistaken for her sister Violet, which bugs the crud out of her! Due to unknown causes Veronica is staying at Violet’s house while she repairs some damage to her kitchen.
Jack Reid is summoned back to Montana from Florida by his uncle who needs help. Unfortunately for Jack he is given bad information about the vacancy of the place he was told to crash in.
It’s a fun read with great moments of romance. Goldie shows up offering her famous box again. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see what happens in the next one!

A second chance at romance for Jack and Veronica that is funny, a bit quirky, lighthearted, ‘real’ feeling romance with a mild mystery and some heat. This series is a bit of a different turn for this author, so if you’ve read anything else by her expect it to have a different feel. Still an enjoyable read and tbh I enjoyed this second book in the series more than the first! Intrigued to see where it goes in book 3…
Loved it. Brings back the wacky characters from Montana Fire and introduces us to her newest group we wish we could know (or be).
A perfect blend of sex, romance and belly laughs.. you won’t want to put it down and the only problem with it is that it isn’t twice as long.
Montana Ice is the second book in the Small Town romance. It could be read as a standalone. I think this one was better than Montana Fire. I got a lot of laughs out of these characters. The plot was good. I couldn’t put the book down till I finished it. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
4.5 Stars
Jack and Veronica’s story
This was a funny romantic story, with a little bit of danger and who-done-it thrown in to add suspense. Very easy read with likable and relatable characters. It’s a super easy read, and I just loved it.
Montana Ice by Vanessa Vale was a great book it was fun, exciting and quite hilarious. This was a well written book that hooks you from the start, there’s a bit of mystery, some suspense and definitely some fun characters in a small town in Montana. Veronica lives in Bozeman, Montana where she is buying the family business from dad, due to a unfortunate circumstances she is staying at her sister’s while she is away. Jack has been summoned home by his uncle who says he needs him, his uncle tell him he will have to stay somewhere else due to the fact his home has no running water. This is where the real fun begins when these two characters come together. There is history between them and maybe just a bit of heartbreak. This was a real page turner and a must read, a book you won’t want to miss. I absolutely recommend this great story you won’t be disappointed if you love a great romance with a strong witty woman and one hot sexy man. There is also a character who will have you in stitches, a gnome who gets around and something that slithers. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and I absolutely loved it.
Montana Ice is a sweet second chance romance that takes place in the small quirky town of Bozeman, MT. It is full of steamy moments, memorable characters and the funny antics that will keep a smile on your face throughout.
Veronica is sassy and full of life! Her independence blows my mind! The last thing she expects is for Jack to come busting back into her life.
These two were so much fun to read about! I was hooked from the get-go and I was thoroughly entertained through the entire story! I laughed, loudly, at the craziness they couldn’t seem to get away from.
This book is full of humor, steam, passion, sweetness, and love. This is a definite MUST READ!! 5 stars!
This is the 2nd book in the small town romance series, and I’m really enjoying the intrigue in each one. I like seeing what Goldie is up to, and getting to know everyone in this small town. The adult scenes are a little tamer than previous books I’ve read, but Vale is really good about leaving things at a slow simmer and then ramping it up.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
The characters + storytelling were very captivating
Veronica had a crush on Jack for forever.
She thought that he preferred her twin sister.
Jack had a crush on Veronica for forever.
He thought that she did not like him at all.
Once the air was cleared, they could take off their clothes fast enough.
Now comes the dilemma:
Jack lives in Florida.
Veronica lives in Montana.
Now what will they do ?
The storytelling + the character’s build were awesome!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
This is another great book from this talented author. Montana Ice is the second book in this series. It is the story of Jack and Veronica. Jack moved away a long time ago. When his uncle calls him for help he comes back to town. Jack and Veronica are still attracted to each other but, can they resolve a problem from their past? This is a sexy, hot page turner with laugh out loud moments. I would definitely recommend this book.
