Heat level–Hot! This adult contemporary romance contains explicit sexual content and graphic language. Not intended for those under the age of 18.
Can be read as a STANDALONE, though it is better if read in order.
GENRE: Romantic erotica medical romance, mystery/suspense/terrorism involving a nurse and a very hot arson investigator.

This whole series is AWESOME! I love the stories. Vella Day really brings these characters to life! You laugh & cry with them. They are also Hot & Hotter! Steamy is not even a beginning word for these stories. I highly recommend them all. I want to live in Rock Hard, Montana!!
Fun read, incorporating benefits of small town life. definitely some imaginative scenes that you can only live out in the book.
Easy reading with a little suspense, romance and happy ever after.
This book had a good store but way to many chapters of sex that had no real barring on story. It was like author had great book but to short so through in the sex has filler
Somewhat different .
good story and a must read
Lots of grammatical errors in the book. Really liked the beginning of this book, thought it had a great storyline with good characters and then, of course, it just shifted down into sex and left the story behind as if only the sex was important.
This was a good book. The characters were relatable and interesting and the overall story line was unexpected. I felt like it was a little rushed, however and would have liked more development of the story and the characters. That’s what kept this from being a five star book for me.
Bad language unnecessary. Love scenes too explicit.
First time reading Vella Day’s books could not put it down until i finish it Great book Loved it from beginning to end can’t wait to read more from This Great Author
A little predictable
The story line was great and kept me reading. I could have done without all the sex scenes. I think there are better ways to write them than being so graphic. If not for the excellent story line I might have dumped this one.
Jamie was a Hospice nurse until her heart was broken by the murders of her hospice patients. Jamie now works at the free clinic in the older part of the city. She befriended a homeless man and his friend and when possible brings him coffee and breakfast on her way to work. Two men in a van scare her after she closes and locks up the clinic one night. At Jamie’s friends wedding she is obligated to accept a dance from the grooms very handsome firefighter friend.
The warehouse by the clinic where Jamie works and her vagrant friend sleeps catches fire and he was carried out and was taken to the hospital. This is the VERY BASIC BEGINNING to a Wonderfully Written Engaging Suspenseful Romantic Mystery Thriller….I just loved. I was given this and I voluntarily leave this review
Great read
Loved it.
Wonderful!
I wish Vella Day had toned down the sex and put a little more energy into the terrorism plot (if it was possible to do that considering that portion of the book was a five-star as a stand-alone) … I would have given it a five-star without a doubt.
Day built a plot with four-sets of characters — local police, FBI, terrorists, and, of course, the female lead who falls for the local constable who splits his time between her and his job.
The author certainly made up for a slow start with a dynamic final three-quarters of the creation.
A totally enjoyable book if you enjoy action both in and out of the bedroom. I’m no prude, but I think the author relied too much on a bedroom in an attempt to enhance a plot which really needed little, if any, outside help.
Loved this book!! Characters you can really relate to with sizzling action! Couldn’t put it down!
Great book!
I liked the story very much – though it took a very long time for it to get going. Max is a wonderful character and Jamie fits him just right. The both of them share quite a traumatic past. Max’s might have the horrible one of the two of them.
