I listened to this book while working around the house. I liked Kujo and Six. Molly was ok. My issue with Molly was that I couldn’t understand why she thought she could successfully act as a field agent with no experience.
Then, for her boss to make her a field agent with no training was ridiculous. She had a successful experience but ONLY because she had the Brotherhood Protectors taking care of things.
I was also amazed at how quickly Molly healed from her experience. I’m going to stop now because I feel like I am nitpicking. There are other Elle James’ books that I enjoyed much more.
I enjoyed the story. Lots of action and suspense. However, the sex scenes used language that was a bit raw. I feel they could have been handled more tastefully. Other than that, it was a good book.
Enjoyed reading this book. Quick and fast paced.
Montana Dog Soldier (Brotherhood Protectors Book 6) by Elle James
This is Joseph “Kujo” Kuntz, and Molly Greenbriar’s story. Also, we can’t forget Six, the service dog.
Kujo and Six are retired from the military and trying to find a new purpose in life. Then Molly comes into their life. I loved this full of action, suspenseful, hot, and steamy romance. This is a must read!
FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Kujo and his K-9 Six are a formidable pair and the newest operatives in the Brotherhood Protectors. It’s a new lease on life for both. Molly is trying to prove her worth as an FBI Agent and move from a desk job to field work. Poking her nose where it doesn’t belong in the mountains of Montana is a quick way to get killed. She becomes Kujo’s first assignment. Six becomes Molly’s fierce protector first but Kujo is not far behind. They team up to locate and identify a group of would be terrorists. Taking them down proves to be dangerous because Molly is caught in the middle.
This the sixth book in the Brotherhood Protectors series. Joseph Kuntz “Kujo” has been discharged from the military after receiving a shrapnel injury on his last mission that left with a limp. Kujo was saved by his K9 partner Six. When some of his former team members come for a surprise visit and tell him Six has been discharged from the military as well and he is not doing well Kujo decides to sign up to foster Six. Kujo has taken a job with Brotherhood Protectors and has moved to the mountains to heal and get some solitude until he is needed for his first mission. Kujo and Six are out for a walk when they encounter Molly Greenbrier in the mountains. Shortly after they go their separate ways an attempt is made on Molly’s life and Kujo saves her. Kujo is attracted to the spunk woman but trouble seems to follow Molly and Kujo and six are trying their best to keep her safe. The characters are great. The story is original and there are so many twists and turns to the story if held me captive until the very end. I love this book.
Love this author

A good story and I love how the good guys triumph over the bad guys
Fast read, you won’t want to put it down! Action packed with a mystery and nice romance.
Love the series, each book ties into the previous ones. Rereading the series during covid-19.
I love action packed military or police procedurals so this book was great. Different from most that I’ve read, but that was refreshing.
Kujo, a wounded and bitter military vet, learns that his dog Six, who was forced to worked with another handler, is now injured, retired from the service and in danger of not finding a home. Kujo acts swiftly and Six and he are reunited, but Kujo isn’t ready to rejoin society, so he and Six live as hermits in an old, abandoned hunting cabin in the Montana mountains.
They stumble onto Molly, who looks like she tumbled off a high ridge. Kujo manages to get her back to his hovel and begins to give her first aid which she remains unconscious.
When she returns to herself, the adventure begins. It’s twisted, characters aren’t who they seem and the story takes off, down at the small town at the base of the mountain.
Even if it’s a little formulaic, Montana Dog Soldier is a good read! I’m happy to have spent an evening or two with Kujo, Molly and — let’s not forget — Six!
It was worth the read
He has hidden in the mountains since he left the Army. His buddies come to tell him his old soldier dog is not adjusting to retirement and may have to be put down. He rescues the dog, get a job with his buddies. The dog then rescues the FBI agent and more dangers get going. It gets really bad but there is a happy ending.
This book is for pure easy entertainment. The ending seemed very rushed though. There was a great deal spent in the beginning trying to develop the story and then at the peak, it just dived down to the end, no easing slope to the end. Just peak and boom, end.
A more realistic view of PTSD than most romances. I’d read it again.
A fast entertaining read.
I have enjoyed this series and keeping track of the various characters.
