Trinity Calhoun is a name everyone knows on the race circuit, but her days in the hot seat are numbered. She’s tired of the limelight, meaningless relationships and long hours behind the wheel. When her father calls her and her sister home, she’s ready. She slips right back into the family business, finishing off the custom car projects her father has lined up. But racing is in her blood and … she’s lured back to risking her life on the hot rod drag strips outside of town. It’s there she meets paramedic and volunteer firefighter, Reece Balmain, who has her re-thinking the road her life is taking.
Reece Balmain arrives in Big Fork a broken man. He’s lived and breathed through horror accidents, haunted by the faces of the people he’s cut from vehicles. He knows one thing–speed kills. He’s hoping not to see too much of it in small town Montana, until he hears about the drag races taking place outside of town. He knows Trinity Calhoun. He’s watched her race, seen her win, held his breath when her car somersaulted into barriers in Daytona Beach. He doesn’t like what she does, but he can’t stay away from the woman who’s claiming his heart.

i was so excited to get to read Trinity’s book! I read a wee bit about her in the first book in this series and knew that she was going to be one kick ’em women and she did not let me down. For one thing I love to watch race cars, I mean who in the south doesn’t and here is a women who dives the cars! Yes she is ending her rein to come home to Montana to help her daddy… another reason to love this gal.
Then we have one hottie of an EMT “Angel” who is also a good guy himself, who she meets at her last race. BUT Fate steps in and she gets to spend time with Reece again back home in Montana far away from the racetrack in Florida. This book touched me in all the places i needed to be touched my heart and in my soul.
I was excited to read this after having really loved the first book of the series. Fast Lane is a stand alone within the series and features a female race car driver and the paramedic she meets after a crash. It’s lust a first sight with these two but major changes in each of their lives throw loops and obstacles into the mix. I liked the plot both where it started and how it evolved. I liked both characters and their individual charisma. It was interesting to see these two independent people brought to their knees so to speak.
However, I didn’t like this one as much as the first book. There were parts of the actual burgeoning romance that seemed a little forced and contrived, maybe even too cheesy, between the two mains that messed with the chemistry for me. And some of the inner thoughts were really repetitive to previous spots of dialogue explanations. I felt like I read certain explanations more than once which didn’t help ingratiate the characters to me as a couple. On the flip side, I really enjoyed looking deeper into the Calhoun family as a whole. The camaraderie and kinship there makes for great family drama and togetherness. I’m hoping Mason’s book is next in the series!
Good emotional story with interesting, likable main characters. Both Trinity and Reece were highly skilled people with major pain in their lives. Both having suffered incredibly painful losses and are still healing from. And they both have still more to go through separately. Of course, their attraction to each other is so strong that it keeps pulling them back to each other.
Trinity had such a wonderfully close family who were there for each other as much as each family member would allow. Trinity’s father is the glue that has held everyone together for years but now he has a disease that is stripping him of strength. Chase is Trinity’s oldest brother who has also been the glue to the family right alongside their father. I liked that his nickname that he earned from his siblings is “Mother”.
This story was charming and had many good points but I also feel like it didn’t quite fulfill all of it’s potential. For me, maybe it’s because it felt like it kept going over and over several things. I know it needed to establish the challenges the main characters were facing.
It had a H.E.A. that I liked and one that seemed realistic and hopeful. I also liked the eBook cover.
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
An emotional story about love, family and starting over.
This was a fast-paced story about a NASCAR driver and a paramedic who helps her from her car after a wreck on the track. Little did they know they would soon meet again. Trinity was headed home to Montana to help take care of her father and Reece was also headed back to Montana to raise his godson, Tyler, who was left severely injured after a car accident that took both of his parents.
Trinity and Reece fall in love while helping each other overcome some of their fears of lost loved ones and starting over, along with helping Tyler overcome his grief.
I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t help but get emotional through parts of it. Trinity and Reece had so much loss in their young lives. I enjoyed how they worked together to help each other. When Trinity decides to face her fears of commitment and decides to be there for Reece and Tyler, it warmed my heart. I just wish there was a little more to this book. I wanted more of Reece and Trinity’s romance and to see how Tyler adjusted to life after leaving the hospital. I’m sure this story will continue in the next book. I’m just a bit impatient when I really like a book and end up having to wait for the next one to come out for the
I just fell into this beautiful moving story, it is so well written with the excitement of Nascar racing and the happiness that is to be found in true love, both Reece and Trinity have suffered with losing people that they love and now it is time for them to find joy in the future together, I hope you pick this one up and enjoy it as much as I did.
Trinity Calhoun is coming home to Big Fork, she has a lot to think about and decide whether she wants to race anymore, it is in her blood but maybe she has been doing more for the brother she lost a car accident it is time to decide and then when an accident brings her to paramedic, her Angel Reece Balmain then more thinking is needed after a spectacular kiss that has her blood heating.
Reece Balmain grew up in foster care with friends that he feels are family he is a good paramedic and loves his job but when he sees Trinity Calhoun spin out on the track and goes to her aid there is a spark that ignites in him and a phone call that changes his life. Moving back home to Big Fork brings him closer to Trinity, but being close to Trinity also brings him closer to speeding cars and risks that worry him, can he get over that to be with the woman who has won his heart.
MS Kees made me feel like I was in Big Fork with Trinity and Reece, the feelings and emotions are so real, Reece is such an amazing hero man what a guy and Trinity she shows such strength and courage and it shines through, a beautiful story that I loved so much and of course catching up with characters that we met in the first book was like coming home to friends and I do look forward to more in this series, I do highly recommend this book and the series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC from NetGalley.
FAST LANE is a sweet and exciting romance. Author Juanita Jees has a spell-binding way with her writing. I could visualise the story as it unfolded on the pages. She also did a marvellous job of bringing these two characters together for their happy ever despite their emotional baggage. This is an emotional and thrilling story with car races and drag races as well as family warmth and relationships.
Highly recommended for all readers of romance.
REVIEW:
Received an ARC from publishers via Netgalley.
4/5
Where to begin? Fast Lane is a story about Trinity a NASCAR driver and Reece a paramedic, that hates everything about speed, crashes, and people making careless decisions. Two, people that are destined to meet, but at the worst time possible. Trinity was racing at Daytona Beach, when she crashed on the track, and Reece was there as the paramedic, that went to help her. As soon as their eyes met, and had a national kiss on Tv sparks flew. They were not worry because they would never see each other again. Yet, fate can be cruel, Trinity old life, her family shop and Dad’s health, bringing her back home, and a tragic event bringing Reece back home near her.
I loved the plot of this story. The main characters were written realistically, about as much as I can imagine, being in their situations. You understand both of their fears and understand what they are going threw, even when it’s opposing each other. You will see a lot of the same characters from the first book. Trinity’s brothers each hold a special place in my heart. I gave the book four stars for two reasons. The first was some of the characters thoughts were repetitive. I understand the author trying to make you walk in each of the characters shoes, but once was enough., but some scenes I understand why she explained it again. The second was I still had questions at the end of the book, but will not state those, because I don’t want to spoil the book field you.
I will definitely pick up another book by Juanita Kees, hopefully I can get those questions answer.
This was a very good book great story and easy to read
