Karen Rose MONSTER IN THE CLOSET is a twisty tale of love and murder. I haven’t read a Karen Rose novel I didn’t love, I was super excited to dive into this one, and I’m pleased that she’s written another winner. There’s a lot going on in this book, but Karen Rose masterfully weaves the many threads together into a captivating story I absolutely could not put down. The reader can catch up with characters from the previous books in the Baltimore series, and it is always a joy to be reunited with the these close-knit bunch. The relationships between the various people just add to the story which makes this novel so much fun to read.
Karen Rose always delivers a great story with unforgettable characters
I love Karen Rose books . I loved this book’s storyline. This book’s storyline was heartbreaking . I loved the action in this story. I loved the hot & steamy scenes. I loved Taylor’s character. My heart broke for Taylor. I loved Jazzie. My heart broke for Jazzie. I loved Ford’s character. I loved the updates on the others. I loved the ending. Awesome job Ms. Rose.
This is a not a romantic suspense with thrills a minute and action on every other page, but if you’re looking for a strong, character driven book, rife with heartfelt dialogue, Ms. Rose’s Monster in the Closet is all that and so much more. This is one of a series of books surrounding a group of tight knit former military hunks-turned cop, federal agent, or private security specialist. It’s also the first one of the series I read, although it’s not the first in the series. While it would certainly help to read this series in order, I was immediately drawn to the depth of characters in such a way that I thoroughly enjoyed this book regardless.
I knew I was going to love this book!! All the gang from the Baltimore series is back and finally after 23 years Clay Maynard is reunited with his daughter.
(This book would be best experienced if you’ve already read Books 1-4 in the Baltimore series which is 12-15 of the main series.)
This book definitely has some suspense but that is built around the reuniting of Taylor with her birth father Clay and the budding romance between her and Ford Eikhart who is Daphine’s son who was kidnapped in book 3/14. I think this is the first time this author has had young adults be the main characters in one of her book and I really enjoyed it. Both Taylor and Ford have been through traumatic experiences that made them much more mature than their physical ages.
I’ve said it many times in my past reviews of Karen’s book that reading them is like going home and visiting family you love but don’t get to see often. She has all these threads that connect each character that seamlessly are woven into each story. Having read every book in the series I am very happy to see some threads from many books back finally getting some closure – and happy closure at that.
