His lips are sealed, but she’s screaming for more . . .Silence is his most dangerous weapon . . .K19 Security Solutions partner, Rhys “Monk” Perrin works hard and keeps his mouth shut. Doing what he’s told, when he’s told, Monk’s missions are the most perilous and extreme. After all, he’s riddled with guilt from years ago that’s left him numb and dangerous. But when he meets his partner’s older … numb and dangerous. But when he meets his partner’s older sister, Saylor Sharp-Davis, Monk realizes there’s more to fight for.
She talks the talk, but fears the walk . . .
Saylor is no stranger to the life of private intelligence operatives, growing up with one of K19’s senior partners for a brother. The majority of the danger she’s faced was at the hands of her ex-husband. And when she encounters Monk and his gentle touch, she craves it again and again. But she’s not about to let down her guard.
The enemy is closer than they realized . . .
When Saylor’s life is threatened, Monk is hellbent on protecting her—refusing to lose another person he loves. But circumstances are tearing them apart, and time is running out. Will the strong, silent savior finally say what he wants?

Incendiary!
They appear to be opposites, who definitely attract, but deep down they are more alike than anyone knows.
Saylor usually talks enough for everybody, but with Monk she doesn’t feel the need to fill the silence, she feels comfortable and safe with him…which in turn terrifies her. She lost control of her life once, she swore never again, so she keeps part of her life hidden from Monk, not sure why she thinks this is ever a good idea – you want to shake some sense into her. Monk has done nothing but be supportive, caring, encouraging and loving…so she is acting like a crazy lady and it obviously comes back to bite her in the ass!
This book is far more emotion based rather than action based compared to the others in the series, not a bad thing, just an observation! There is a lot of crossover here with Strikers book, a lot of scenes repeated but from Monk’s perspective rather than Strikers. Whilst this book felt a little different to the others in the series I did enjoy it and I am thrilled that book 10 will be Onyx! I read this on Kindle Unlimited
OMG! What a great romance!
I absolutely adore Monk! He’s been one of my favorites right from the start, so it was great to finally read his story. We’ve known that he had a thing for Saylor, who is Razor’s older sister, but we didn’t quite know how serious the relationship was. We had also been given very brief glimpses into who he was as a man but only enough to just fantasize what he was like. It’s wonderful to see that he’s so much more than what I had fantasized! The heat and depth of connection between Monk and Saylor are amazing. It was really great to finally read their love story.
This is the seventh book in the K19 Security Solutions series and it does interconnect with both the Butler Ranch series and the Military Intelligence Section 6 series. So keep that in mind as it can be read as a standalone but it does build onto the series.

I Adore this Suspenseful and Heartfelt Romance!!
Monk works with the K19 protecting the innocent and traveling as needed to “save the world”. Saylor has two young girls, a bad taste in her mouth from her ex, and relief she can move out of her K19 brothers’ home.
They enjoy each other’s company, but don’t want a relationship. Monk doesn’t want anyone waiting for him, and Saylor has seen the schedule her brother keeps. That might work logically for the brain, but the heart knows better.
Every character in this series will steal your heart, but I think Monk did so even more!! Can this man known for his reticence to talk, win over this very special woman?? Splendid read!!

Beautifully Done! This is one I’ve been waiting and waiting to read! First of all, it is part of the K19 series, best served in order, but NOT mandatory. The author did a beautiful job of adding just enough backstory to enhance Monk as a stand alone. For those of us that have been with K19 all along, it was a fast blast to the past from a very different perspective.
So, yes, I loved it, Monk and Saylor, each with their own demons from their pasts to come haunt them in their dreams AND reality. Some very intense situations throughout, both directly and indirectly as this read is based over a longer time span, but necessary, for these two with their blase` attitudes, but the hearts knew, the minds just had to catch up.
This hits all the buttons and is a great read to lose yourself in.
Monk is not a talker, in every situation, there’s a reason for that. Saylor likes what she sees right off the bat, but only wants casual, she’s too afraid to want anything more. Lots of interaction with other stories if you had read other K19 books, you won’t get lost if you haven’t read them, but it helps if you have. “We’re meant to be together, and we will be.” You can only make the decisions based on that moment, lots of grief if you can’t get past those decisions. Definitely a feel good read. Totally recommend.

I read the K19 series in order and LOVED Monk’s character from the beginning. I’m very happy to say Heather Slade did not disappoint in this book. I am positive you’ll really enjoy this book!
This wonderful book has it all … a great story, strong characters, drama, danger, intensity, and true love. I recommend this book both as a stand-alone and as part of this fabulous series. A really great read.
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. Another adventure that brings K19 Security to protect Saylor and her daughters. Monk tries to stay away but finally steps up at the last moment to protect the people he loves. A standalone read in the series but following along gives you understanding of all connected.
I really loved how this started at the now then went back to build the relationship of Monk and Saylor from when they first meet to what they went through to get to the point in front of the hospital, the way it is is done as well with the jumps in time flow together really well so you don’t feel confused or if you missed something. Both Saylor and Monk have been through things that make then guarded about doing more which builds the emotional turmoil they go through and at times you really do want to shake them silly so they see sense. I love the relationship Saylor has with her brother Razor as well as the relationship he also has with Monk and you can see he along with the others only want whats best for them both and at times need a wee nudge!

Book seven in the K19 Security Solutions series and once started I was not putting the book down. K19 Security Solutions partner, Rhys “Monk” Perrin and Saylor Sharp-Davis’ story there is suspense, drama, danger, a very bad ex, and romance. I enjoyed reading their story. ARC for honest review with no compensation Received from BookSprout
Monk is book 7 in the K19 Security Solutions by Heather Slade…this series is amazing!! Standalone but interconnected and reading in order gives you a better understanding of the series.
We have read about Rhys “Monk” Perrin in the other 6 books and now it’s his turn to find his HEA with his partner’s older sister, Saylor Sharp Davis or so we hope…
Saylor, divorced with two young children’s is trying to heal and move forward from her abusive husband but when her ex starts threatening her she needs the help of her brother’s security team. While she understands all that’s involved she is not sure her heart can take the one person assigned to her…Monk.
Monk a member of the K19 Security Solutions has had Saylor in his sights for sometime but not wanting a relationship due to his work. After some discussion between Monk and Saylor they decide to have a no strings attached relationship. But as we all know feelings do end up being involved…
Action packed, suspense, steamy, romantic, misunderstandings are just some of what happens in this story…do these two find the HEA??
Wow!!! For a man of few words, Monk sure has a lot to say., (But only to Saylor)
Monk is a partner in the K-19 security , Saylor is the older sister of one of the other partners.
The author has brought back the characters, from the previous books to help make this a wonderful addition to the series.
This book can be read alone, but to get the most out of the series, I strongly suggest picking up the rest of the series to meet these wonderful people.
This is book 7 in the K19 Security Solutions series and it features Rhys “Monk” Perrin and Saylor Davis, who is Razor’s sister. There was an instant attraction between these two. It was as if they could read each others minds and we’re on the same wavelength. Monk’s lack of verbal communication, talking only when he had something important to say, was surprisingly sexy. Neither wants a relationship. She’s a single mom with two young daughters, with an ex-husband in prison. His career doesn’t allow him that freedom but whenever they’re in each others orbit, they spend “time” together. What could be more perfect! The more time you spend with someone, the more time you want. That perfectness turns into not enough and EVERYTHING gets messed up! I
I really like that this is not an insta-love story. This entire romance happened over a period of two years. I love that we have a sort of behind-the-scenes, more detailed, telling of the events of a previous story. Monk’s character development was like watching a flower bloom and seeing the walls fall from around Saylor’s heart was beautiful. I do wish Cliff had played a much bigger part in this story line though. Regardless, this is a highly entertaining, extremely sexy romance and I cannot wait for more!
COMMUNICATION IS ESSENTIAL FOR LOVE TO OVERCOME FEAR
Rhys ‘Monk’ Perrin finds Razor Sharp’s sister, Saylor, to be the one for him. Between the two of them, they have a hard time communicating and secrets, along with Saylor’s mistrust of men and wanting the best for her daughters, lead them on a winding road to a relationship that falters several times due to their uneasiness and the situations of Monk’s job; Saylor doesn’t like the fact that she won’t know where he is or that he’s in constant danger of being killed on the job. Getting over their problems is a huge. There is a HEA and no cliff-hanger.
I received this ARC for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.
Exceptional book. The character Rhys “Monk” Perrin is so mysterious with his quiet personality. Saylor Sharp-Davis has a strong attraction to Monk but is scared from past experience. They both have communication problems but are there for each other when needed. Wonderful characters. A great addition to the K19 Series and family.

Full Disclosure: I stayed up way too late to finish this because I couldn’t put it down. I LOVE Heather Slade’s stories. The characters are real, the relationship has obstacles (often put there by the characters themselves) and the characters get an HEA at the end. There is also always a good suspense entangled and there are things going on that you don’t expect.
This story is no exception. I’d read them in order so you get all the backstory but you will be able to start here. Of course then you’ll go back and get the backstory so it’s up to you where you start. Monk and Saylor are perfect for each other but baggage from their pasts is a burden on both sides. There is suspense and you’ll race to finish so you can get to the HEA. I was just going to read a couple of chapters when I started but here I am, sleep deprived but satisfied with the story. It’s always nice when you end with a sigh. The characters feel real. You’ll be cheering them on (when you don’t want to hit them upside the head) and the action is non-stop. You’ve been warned: start this early because my few chapters ended with “the end”. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
I absolutely loved Monk! I was intrigued by him ever since he was first mentioned in previous books, so I was anxiously awaiting his story. It was definitely worth the wait, because Monk was so much more than I could have imagined. He’s a really special character, and Saylor is the perfect match for him. They are my favorite couple of the series! The moments between them were captured perfectly. Some of the scenes were so well-written that I read them twice before moving forward. Heather Slade is one of my all-time favorite authors and I can’t wait to see what amazing story she has planned next.

I loved Monk and Saylor’s story. I thought that there was a really special connection between these two characters that both had wounded hearts and painful pasts. I thought it was super easy to like these characters and feel for them. In many ways these two were as diffent as night and day but that did absolutely nothing to deter the powerful attraction they shared or impede the growth of emotions much deeper than simple desire. The entertaining storyline keeps your focus with a complex blend of drama, suspense, tension, emotional turmoil, action, secrets, danger, twists, passion and romance. A very enjoyable read and excellent addition to this terrific series.
Hot, hunky special operatives and their strong, intelligent, beautiful women – what could be better? We’ve had glimpses of Monk and Saylor, Razor’s sister, in the other books and I was really looking forward to their story. Monk has intrigued me from the beginning with his strong, stoic, silent persona. Take the whole still waters thing added to his operative training and it’s all very appealing.
This is a terrific addition to a series that has held my attention since the beginning. While each character’s romance is resolved in his book, there’s a storyline that continues from book to book, similar to B.J. Daniels’ western romances. These characters leave their mark, so it’s always a treat to catch up with them from one book to the next. If you like military romance with a bit of mystery, you’ll love this one.
*I read an early edition of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide feedback and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source.
It’s always the quiet ones.
Monk and Saylor don’t have a lot in common outside of their intense physical attraction, but over time their no-strings hookups turn into something a lot deeper, and that’s when all the trouble starts.
Monk may be a man of few words, but their communication problem is not entirely one-sided. Saylor is still trying to figure out what she wants, and her unwillingness to share her plans with Monk was extremely frustrating at times.
Their story is told over the previous two years of K19 activities, so it references events from their POVs that happened during the previous books in the series, starting with Razor’s all the way through to where we left off with Striker’s. It’s a standalone romance, but those who have been following the series all along will recognize the people and events as they related to Monk and Saylor.
Between his job with K19, her career, and her family situation, theirs is a complicated romance, but one that ultimately has a satisfying HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
