Mommy Loves the Principal by Shanae Johnson is a sweet story about a recently divorced woman, Kylee, her daughter, Molly, and the Principal, Ron. After her divorce, Kylee moves back to the hometown where she grew up. Her daughter, Molly, is attending Kylee’s former school. The main difference is that the principal of the school was Kylee’s best friend. There are twists and turns in their relationship. Their friendship is renewed and is just as comfortable as it was back in the day. Will it progress to be more?
I loved this story, it is sweet and Molly is adorable. This is the first book in this new series. It is a standalone book. I am looking forward to reading more of these stories. I highly recommend this book.
This follows one of my favorite tropes––adults that had grown up together reunited after years and love blossoms.
This book is so sweet The little Girl Molly is smart beyond her years. It only took me 2 days to read it because I couldn’t put it down. If you love reading about single parent’s finding love then you should definitely read this book.
Ten years ago Kylee left on the back of Jason’s motorcycle, against Ron’s advice. Now she’s back in her hometown, divorced and a single mom to Molly. Molly is sent to the principal’s office and Principal Ron Kidd learns that Molly’s mom is his best friend and the woman he’s always loved. Molly takes it upon herself to be a matchmaker for them. This was a great short read. I really wish it was longer since it was so good. The story was cute, the characters easy to love and a story that could be so true. Since I work in an elementary school, part of the storyline was about standardized testing and that’s exactly what is going on in the Florida school’s right now. I was laughing at that part as well as thinking the author had this exactly right. This story is about a divorce mom, Kylee returning to her hometown with her daughter. Meanwhile, her best friend since elementary school, Ron, is still at the same hometown but now has moved up to be the principal of the town’s elementary school. Kylee and Ron run into each other and hearts are tingling. They have grown up and now just being friends may not be just okay. Great story, great characters and great read.
Enjoyable light hearted quick read. Home town romance in a small town. Shows that best friends can possibly become more on the future. No swearing nor graphic sex. Hea.
Feel good and hopeful
Mommy Loves The Principal is the first book in the Mommy’s Little Matchmakers series. After ten years of being away Kylee is back in the town she grew up in with her young daughter in tow. After her daughter pulls a practical joke at school she is sent to the principal’s office. After to talks to the child in his office he realizes her mother is someone he used to know previously. Back then he was afraid to let his feelings show, he’s not now. Maturity will do that for you. It was a sweet romance and I enjoyed reading Ron and Kylee’s story.

Kylee and Ron were best friend from elementary school but the she skip town with the bad boy ten years ago. Now she is back, divorced and with a daughter who tends to get into trouble at school. Ron is the school’s principal now. Will Kylee and Ron have a chance to be together even now that they meet again? A sweet love story.
I loved this book. It was a lot of fun to read and very believable. Thank you for a great book to read!!!
What an exceptionally sweet romance! Ron and Kylie were best friends throughout school until the day she runs off and marries the local bad boy. Years have past and Kylie has divorced, moved home and finds that her best friend is the principal at her daughter’s new school. With some serious matchmaking skills, Kylie’s daughter Molly brings these two adults back into the same orbit, just as the title suggests. While this book is straightforward with no surprises, it is still a pleasure to read.
Mommy Loves the Principal is a sweet second chance romance. This delightful story deals with the common themes of: girl loves bad boy; unrequited love; finding where you fit; mean girls and following your heart. Shanae Johnson’s characters are realistic and the setting is relatable. I highly recommend Mommy Loves the Principal!
his is a sweet, gentle story about a little girl who plays matchmaker with her mommy and the school principal, who happens to be an old friend of mommy’s.
There are a few twists along the way, included the ex-husband showing his ugly face which stirs tings up a bit. However, in general, it is a light, sweet read with a happy ever after.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and loved it so much, I purchased a copy.
This was adorable. There were some really great scenes where I laughed hard. Kylee married the bad boy after high school and left her best friend Ron behind. After ten years, Kylee is back in her hometown with her daughter Molly. Ron is now the principal of the school were Molly attends. This a a great novella. I was able to read this in one sitting. You will fall in love with the characters. The plot was wonderful and so easy to read.
I loved the dual POV format that this was written in. Both characters were adorable in their reflection.
I highly recommend this wonderful sweet, clean second chance romance.

A fun sweet clean easy read… Sometimes you just love the characters and how their lives grow and change in the lifespan of a single story. I received a free ARC of this story and I am proud to say… This is a 5-star read.. in MHUO (My Humble Unbiased Opinion) !!
This is a quick and easy read.
Kylee Bauer and Ron Kidd were best friends as children but lost contact after Kylee left town with the bad boy biker.
When Kylee and her daughter, Molly, return to their hometown, Molly is enrolled at the school where Ron is the principal.
While they get closer, will Ron get a second chance with Kylee?
I loved the characters, especially Molly. I’m already looking forward to the next book in this series. I recommend the reading.
Mommy Loves the Principal, Book one of the Mommy’s Little Matchmaker by Shanae Johnson
Molly Romano is a fourth graded with an unbelievable imagination. From erasing numbers on a ruler or adding purple glitter to a dry eraser to create fairy dust. Sadly, she is at her fourth school in just six years which is why her imagination runs wild.
Ron Kidd is the principal at Clara Barton Elementary. For the last ten years, he has worked his way to the top, and what’s more, he loves his job, teachers, and students. He also loves his best friend, Kylee. He just never had a chance to tell her.
Kylee Bauer Romano was the girl most likely to succeed. Well, that didn’t happen, since ten years ago she left town with the bad boy. Now she is back with her daughter, and ready to make a new start. She has a job that she doesn’t quite understand yet and a daughter who has a tendency to find trouble.
Kylee is back in her home town and staying at her parent’s house while they retire to sunny Florida. She has been at her job for two weeks, but then she gets a call from the school that her daughter has got in trouble again. Meeting the principal shocks her, in a good and a bad way. It’s her best friend since elementary school, Ron Kidd. Kylee’s daughter, Molly, sees her smile and laugh for the first time in a long time because of him. The gears in Molly’s head are spinning, she wants to make that feeling permanent. Ron can’t believe it! Kylee is here, and she is available! Should he take the chance that he was afraid to make ten years ago, or should he just keep himself in the friend zone? A fellow teacher reminds him that there is a rule against parents and teachers dating. Ron checks into that, and look at that, there isn’t!
This was a very sweet romance about people going from friends, to dating. Kylee had been through a rough marriage with her bad boy, and just needs a good man. She finds that in her good friend, Ron. He has carried the torch for her for a while, and he might get that happily ever after. It just goes to show you that sometimes a woman needs a man that messes up her lipstick and not her mascara.
This is an enjoyable easy read. Molly ends up in the principal’s office and makes a discover that sets her on a quest to fix her mom up with the principal. Will she succeed? Check it out. I received an ARC copy and enjoyed it thoroughly.
I loved all the test taking metaphors in this story. Molly was mischievous, cute, and very smart. Kylee’s ex was a loser, but she couldn’t see that right away and he kept trying to use her until she finally stood up for herself. Ron was a sexy principal who has always loved kids and was an awesome best friend. I thought Kylee and Ron’s romance was really sweet if not without its roadblocks. I liked the John Hughes and Sixteen Candles reference. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

She hasn’t seen him in ten years, since she made the bad decision to marry the “bad boy.” The only truly good thing to come out of that was her daughter, Molly. Who has decided Mom needs a new husband. And Molly has chosen just the man she wants for her new dad. Not that she doesn’t love her birth dad but, as she tells her mom, he doesn’t make either of them happy. Doris Day and Rock Hudson could have starred in this one . . . A quick, cheerful read which will make *you* happy!
