Can two mini matchmakers convince their single parents that the four of them are meant to be a family?
Cameron Baldwin has everything she needs to lead a decent life–a daughter who loves her, a mother who supports her, and a job with the flexibility a single mom needs. So what if a husband just isn’t part of that picture any longer? The last thing she needs is love, but that’s exactly what … she needs is love, but that’s exactly what sparks in her heart when she meets a dashing single dad at school pick up.
Alex Sanchez loved and lost and has vowed to never let it happen again. Being a single widower dad is difficult enough, but his career in the Army adds further uncertainty to his already complicated life. Taking a post in St. Judith offers stability for his family and a chance to open his heart to the single mother of his daughter’s new best friend… That is, if he’s brave enough to admit to the growing attraction between them.
Thanks to the secret matchmaking scheme concocted by their ten-year-old daughters, they soon find themselves spending quite a lot of time together. Still, despite all they have in common, both are terrified of opening themselves up to heartbreak again.
Will their daughters’ final scheme lead them straight into each other’s arms? Or is theirs a love that can never be? I enjoyed reading about the shenanigans of the two ten-year-old best friends that wanted to be sisters. Setting up their single parents is the means to accomplish their goal. Alex is a lot more willing than Cameron to go along with the girls’ plans. I loved reading about Alex’s incredible thoughtfulness, his meeting Cameron’s needs, even when he’s not around to do it himself. One of my favorite scenes was a humorous one that takes place on the National Mall. As a Christian, what I didn’t like was using God’s name as slang. The HEA is great. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion.
Mommy Loves The Military Man by Allie Kingcaid Is adorable and sweet! Who doesn’t love a story where the daughters want to be sisters and set their parents up. Cameron Baldwin doesn’t want to set up with a military man because he will leave on assignments with the military. Alex Sanchez is a widower who took the assignment that doesn’t have tour of duties to be a single father to his daughter. A sweet funny read as the two daughters try to set them up! I received a ARC copy of this book for an honest review of this book.
Love how the two girls want to become “sisters” and plot at every chance to get their parents together to create a family. Great story!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Book two in the series Mommy’s Little Matchmakers a well-written story by an Author I have not read before. What schemers those two ten-year-olds are Lizzie is Cameron Baldwin’s daughter and her dad is not in the picture and Mariana is Alex’s daughter. Lizzie is a website designer who works from home and Alex is a Warrant Officer in the Army. This is a book I found myself laughing at some of the things that happen. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
Check this out: two ten years olds with a plan, add a grandmother who is in on the plan and what could go wrong. This was an easy, enjoyable read. If you enjoy clean reads you should check this one out. I really enjoyed it and I read a lot so that says something. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
It’s amazing the things 10 year old’s can come up with to try and push their parents together.
Loved this light-hearted love story. It’s sweet but still brings real issues to the forefront.
It felt real
Alex has been hurt in the past. Cameron isn’t looking for love. But their daughters have other plans!
It was light-hearted and fun. Easy-to-read. It all felt real. That’s how I like it!
This was a really sweet fun read. This is the second book in the series but is the first one that I have read and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. This was a really good well-written laugh out loud at times read. I just loved both Lizzie and Mariana they want to be sisters and are determined to get their parents together, This is so much fun I would recommend it
I loved this book!! Cameron, her daughter Lizzie, her mom and their dog Boomer and Alex and his daughter Maryana. Lizzie and Maryana are best friends, and doing everything they can to get their parents together, along with help from Lizzie’s grandma. How many ways can 2 10 year old girls work up to get their parents together without their parents knowing their plan until it’s already in action? This book is a great mixture of romance, comedy and some seriousness. Will the girls get their wish and become “sisters”? I could not put this book down and now I want to read the other books in the series.
Kincaid made heart the star of the show and I can honestly say, I LOVED IT. Mommy Loves the Military Man delivers a second chance to a couple of brokenhearted single parents. The adorable factor comes in when a duo of mischievous matchmakers give said parents a not so subtle push. This story just goes to show that a little bit of mischief and an abundance of heart can have surprising results.
My how your life can change when two ten year old matchmakers intervene. Two adults with wounded hearts have sworn off on love but their daughters who’ve become best friends have a different idea. This book will make you laugh at their antics. If they set their mind to it, ten year olds could easily run the world. The banter back and forth is fun and the book is an entertaining read. Great characters. I read an advance reader copy and voluntarily chose to review.
I loved this funny, lighthearted and heart warming romance. Mommy Loves the Military Man has the greatest kid characters in Lizzie and Mariana. And oh, my, what a disaster Boomer (the dog) was. The girls (and Lizzie’s grandmother) really set up Cameron and Alex- with dinners, flowers, picnics, etc. Both Cameron and Alex have issues from their pasts that have to be overcome in this very entertaining story.
This is a sweet, light hearted, enjoyable and funny romantic comedy.
The antics of the two ten-year-old best friends to get their respective parents together is quite funny in parts.
A great, clean read
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
When two ten year old girls, very little stops their plans to get their single parents together! Very sweet story of mistakes and losses normal people go through to finding true love. I can hardly wait to read the next book in this series!
Grabbed me from the first line.
Alex and Cameron never saw what was coming their way. Their daughters had a plan and they executed it well. This story was cute and funny thanks to the antics of their children. It is well written ad have you in their daughters corner as they plot their strategy for getting their parents together to form a family.
