Parenting a child comes with challenges at the best of times, but when one voluntarily takes on the role of permanent caregiver to a child from an abusive background, you have to have the patience of Job and the courage of a fire fighter. Skylar was terrified that her new found haven of peace would be ripped away from her and does everything in her power to ensure that she holds onto the most precious person in her life. If only those pesky men who find her new Mom attractive would keep out of the way. Abby is exhausted from the constant need to reassure Skylar. Taking her from wild child to a well integrated human being adds to the pressure. As any mother knows, our best is never enough and Abby questions her motives and her eligibility as a mother from every angle, even to the point of giving up her own hopes and dreams to ensure Skylar’s happiness. Noah’s reappearance in her life after so many years brings a new spark of hope and excitement to Abby’s life, but Skylar’s reaction to him is like having a bucket of iced water douse the flames. Fortunately, Noah isn’t easily put off, and he recognises that if he wants Abby as first prize, he will have to win Skylar over first. This well written story highlights the difficulties that come with parenting children you have not given birth to, whether through adoption, marriage or foster care. Understanding the inner workings of child’s mind can be exhausting, but the prize is well worth fighting for. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Love needed
Abby was coming back to help her friend Emma set up her business. Her adopted daughter Skylar is adjusting, but this is her first time flying and also out of Australia. But Abby’s biggest crush is Noah, Emma’s brother can they make Skylar understand that Abby has enough love for both of them.
I liked it!
Abby is such a wonderful person. I don’t think I’d be able to be so loving and calm with Sky. She and Noah are the best people to be involved in her life, they are so calm and caring. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Mommy Loves the It Guy, book three from Mommy’s Little Matchmakers, is the first book I have read by Joanne Dannon. I enjoyed this sweet story. I am giving it four and a half stars.
I received this book from the publisher, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
Abby is thirty and has adopted Skylah, a ten year old girl with a fear of abandonment. Abby has the patience of a saint and lives in Australia. She’s back in the US, Virginia, visiting her BF Emma. Its been eleven years since she’s seen Noah, Emma’s brother. Noah likes order and predictability, none of which comes with a child of ten who doesn’t want Abby to date. Skylah is determined that nothing changes in her world (makes sense, I’m sure she had plenty of disruption before Abby came into her life).
Noah does take to Skylah and the challenges of a single mom with a precocious ten year old. I liked that he kind of treated her like a little adult.
But can they make it work? Australia is a very far place from Virginia and Noah’s life there.
Recommend.
Abby Morgan becomes a single mother, with adoption Skylah, 8 years old.
Abby is from St.Judith, near Washington. now she lives in Australia, alone, works as event planner.
She has too much to learn to raise Skylah, but with patient, explain, love, hugs, the life’ll be full and happy.
Interesting theme, good story, lovely characters, easy and fast to read, I enjoyed read it!
Abby got custody of Skylah when she was eight years old. Skylah came from an abusive home where she was severely neglected. Because of that, Skylah had many insecurities. Abby worried constantly if she was doing anything correctly concerning parenting her daughter. Abby and Skylah came to America so Abby could help her old friend get her business up and running. She had always crushed on her friend’s older brother, Noah. The daughter disliked any man that showed the slightest interest in Abby. This time, however, the man, Noah took a different approach to the situation, determined to win over Skylah. You just gotta read Mommy Loves the IT Guy. It is interesting and grabbed my attention immediately. Couldn’t stop reading until I finished it.
This is a sweet story in the Mommy Matchmakers series. Can a teenage crush turn into something more permanent when you add an adopted daughter into the mix, not to mention separate lives in different countries? Abby has come to America from Australia for a much-needed vacation. Her life as well as her job is structured and safe. Noah adds the excitement she’s been missing. She loves his family but wonders if she can take the risk of loving him. Will her adopted daughter be able to get past her abandonment issues and accept him into their lives? This quick read will leave you with a smile.
I received an ARC of this book and am leaving my honest review.
Abby and Noah’s story, was an emotional, sweet, enjoyable and heartwarming tale. Abby left Australia to travel to the U.S. to help her best friend, Emma, start a new business. It had been ten years since her last visit, and even longer since she lived in that small town, but it didn’t stop her from thinking about Emma’s brother Noah; and how she can’t remember a time she didn’t have a crush on him. This time would definitely be different as Abby was not alone. She was excited to share the small town, where she grew up with her adopted daughter Skylah. Reuniting with Noah, Emma, and their family helped bring some stability to her daughter’s life and only intensified her feelings for Noah. As the time to return home to Australia approaches, Emma doesn’t know what to do; she will miss Noah’s sweet kisses and seductive smile. Her life is in Australia; or is it?
Ms. Dannon wrote an emotional and heartwarming romance that should not be missed. This tale abounds with emotions, magnetic attraction, wonderful dialogue, and charming characters giving Abbe and Noah a chance at love, a family, and forever. I highly recommend this book to other readers.

Just ok for me!
This book didn’t grab me or entertain me the way other novels by this author usually do. I can’t totally put my finger on what I didn’t like, but part of it was how quickly Abby seemed to discard Noah when her adopted daughter wasn’t happy with them being together. I found a lot heartbreaking in this book, and I did not find it “fun, funny” as described in its blurb. However, I’m sure another book by this author will sit better with me.
Thank you to Sweet Promise Press for the opportunity to read and review an ARC of this book and I am providing my honest review.
I really liked this bokk as it explored the feelings of a child who has been abused and abandoned.
It seems that it takes a long while to believe in a HEA for themselves.
This author tells the story well and with much insight.
The characters were well developed and the plot was well written.
I love this series.
I received a free copy for an honest review.
This was a great story about Abby, a new mom to her adopted daughter Skylah, and Abby’s teenage crush and his family. Abby and Skylah come from Australia to help out Abby’s friend Emma with her new business. Emma’s brother Noah is Abby’s crush. He takes the time to get to know Skylah, and spend time with Abby, who was his crush too. In the end, love wins!
First, I want to thank Joanne Dannon for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
I have been a fan of Joanne Dannon for a while now. However, Mommy Loves the I.T. Guy part of Mommy’s Little Matchmaker is the best she has ever written. Joanne brought so many smiles to my face throughout this book all because of an adorable little girl named Skylah Morgan.
So many incredible adorable moments where Joanne me laughing of things Skylah did or said. For example, Skylah thought 30 was old. Well then, she must think I am ancient at 42!
I loved the bond that Skylah had with her mommy. Another reason this book made me smile.
This book is dedicated in memory of Marcelle, a wonderful, inspiring lady whose smile and cheeky comments I miss.
Kudos to the graphic artist of this book. You captured my heart with the Mommy and Daughter on the cover of the book. Plus, it was clever with the computer paneling also on the cover of the book. It was the graphics, the title the fact that Joanne wrote the book that made this a must-read book for me. I am so glad that I did.
Joanne thanks Melissa Storm for choosing her and inviting her to be a part of the Matchmaking series. I happen to Review for Melissa as well so It made me smile that two of my favorite authors got to work together on a project.
What an adorable story. I was able to finish it in one sitting. The characters were wonderful and the plot was enjoyable. I truly enjoyed this sweet, clean romance story.
The dual POV was nice to have. I always love to see inside the characters’ mind to their thought process to fully understand their actions and speech.
A sweet story with a damaged 10yo girl in the lead
Abby has adopted 10yo Skylah. Skylah needs a lot of reassuarance; the first 8 years of her life have damaged her deeply. Abby and Skylah move from Australia to America for Abby’s temporary job. Abby has always had a crush on Noah. But Sky doesn’t want anyone to come between them. So she wants to prevent anyone from coming close to Abby. Skylah speaks her mind. She’s quite rude to Noah at first.
It was easy-to-read. Dual POV between Abby and Noah, not counting the prolgue and sort-of-epilogue from Skylah’s. This story didn’t fit the brief of “Mommy’s Little Matchmaker” perfectly. Skylah does everything in her power to separate Abby and Noah, afraid that he will come between her and her Mom. But that didn’t really matter. It was a sweet story. I liked it!
I would have liked Abby and Noah to have a little more alone time though, without Skylah. Now I didn’t feel their connection, their spark 100%. Things were a little too fast for my liking. I would have liked more development of the characters of Abby and especially Noah, but since it is a novella, it was bound to be quicker. A fast read, nice and pleasant.
The third book in the Mommy’s Little Matchmakers series. Abby who is thirty, has adopted Skylah, a ten year old little girl who has a fear of abandonment. Abby decides to move back to her hometown after a phone call from her best friend, the move might help Sky. Noah Marshall meets Abby again as she is his sister’s best friend and he comes to know Sky.I like the way Noah interacted with Sky, and how Abby and Noah come together. I received a copy if this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
Mommy Loves The I.T. Guy by Joanne Dannon is a sweet story and a wonderful read. I loved how Abby adopted Skylah a child that was neglected in her young life. Abby comes her to America to work with a friend and to have more time with Skylah. This book deal with adoption, fear of separation, abandonment and rejection issues trough humor and the strength of love and family. The story deals with Skylah reaction to her fears of rejection with the romance between Abby and Noah. I throughly enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend reading it. I received an arc copy of this book for an honest review of it.
