It’s been a while since I read some horror. Yolanda never disappoints, I’m always left feeling creeped out and need some fluffy romance again.
This book contains four short stories, all of them will leave your head spinning. I cringed in the first two, literally eww. As for one of them…well I’ve read about those devices and thought that’s the ultimate revenge.
Great variety, no dogs killed so I didn’t throw my kindle.

This is a book of 4 Short Horror Stories. I love this Authors books, Even though they are short stories, they are so well done that you feel like you just read a whole full length book. Each one will have you on edge trying to figure out what’s about to happen.
1st story As Sadie Sleeps. What would you do if your baby was sick and nobody would help?
2nd Story Dead Zones Are Arbitrary. Can you really outrun fate?
3rd story Skin. Easter is the worse holiday for Christian.
4th story A Day In The Death. Pastor Morris is a Devil in his own church.
I would totally recommend this book to a new reader, it gives you a taste of how this author writes. Grab this book it’s awesomeness.
What a phenomenal book that contains 4 shorts horror stories!
As Sadie Sleeps, this was would be terrible to relive on a daily, pretty much a time loop, hoping that it ends but not tragically.
Dead Zones are Arbitrary, this was an okay read, was really trying to figure out what he was running from if it wasn’t the cops.. well his demons definitely caught up with him… did he accept is fate or keep running.
Skin, this one was one of my favorites, reminds me of the movie May, he did on heck of a job dishing out justice to a particular person who wronged him.
A Day in the Death, this was was also my favorite, karma comes back ans slices hard. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
I didn’t want to give any spoilers, so that’s why there is not much but just enough to give you a taste. Highly recommend if you want something quick and horrific to read!
I haven’t been able to enjoy a good set of short stories since back when I only read King, and only bought paperback. Yolanda Olson makes you feel like you’re holding on by your fingernails, only to fall anyway!
As Sadie Sleeps is a sad story of a young mother trying to help her baby. While not often seen in a lot of Yolanda’s work, your breath may hitch, and not from fear.
Dead Zones Are Arbitrary is probably my favorite – watching a man run from his demons, and then turning it around on him. Amazing journey from start to finish.
Skin I had read previously in an anthology, but absolutely loved it just as much this time as I had in the past. Yolanda knows how to take the twisted thoughts of a man with obsession to its limits.
And last but not least, A Day In The Death rounds out the tales. Definitely not a story for the faint of heart, it brings out the fact that small-town secrets never stay buried.
Definitely a must read that you need to add to your library.
