This single parent dating experiment is about to go viral… ready and I’m dead set on experimenting on my new neighbor, the single mom who does the weirdest things.
But my experiment goes awry in unexplainable ways…
Lily-Marie
When dating apps fail me spectacularly, I decide to go old school and use a 1950s magazine I dug up at a yard sale to help find Mr. Right.
Fifty Ways to Find a Husband.
Sounds legit.
Problem is, my new neighbor, Mr. Science Professor, keeps blocking my attempts. And keeps losing his shirt. How does a book nerd have so many muscles anyway? Thing is, my kids like his son and we start spending a lot of time together, which is distracting me from my ultimate goal: to find a husband to sweep me off my feet and be a good father to my kids.
Things get comical quick when my best friend records everything in her daily newspaper column. I can’t help but wonder if single moms like me can actually catch a husband. Or will this Mom-Com go viral as an epic train wreck?

I loved this book. I laughed so hard at some parts and I really really swooned for Jameson. Lily Marie was an awesome heroine and seeing how frazzled she was, how had she was working to find love. I just loved her. This couple was really an amazing match. The professor and the princess. It makes me smile just thinking about them. I loved the idea of the whole book and feel like the author did a great job. It’s my first book by this author and I can’t wait to read the next book. 5 stars #2OCCJD
Is it possible for a woman who believes in happily ever after and is searching for her Prince Charming, to be interested in a sexy scientist who treats love like a science experiment? That is what Marika Ray has set out to do in her latest book, “Mom-Com.” I absolutely love this book because it made me laugh, smile and dream of happy endings and Disney movies.
Lily-Marie and Jameson are neighbors who don’t seem to have much in common but you never know what people will do for love. To Jameson, everything in life is scientifically explained and there is no grey area. Lily-Marie wants someone who will love her unconditionally, cherish her and never betray her. Does that kind of man really exist? Lily-Marie thinks he does and she has devised a plan to snag a husband once and for all. It will require creativity, a little deception and a good sense of humor. Jameson has decided to prove to himself that love does not exist and his plan will also be creative but more importantly, scientifically accurate, because he is always right.
Who will come out the winner? Will Lily-Marie and Jameson realize that everyone has a soulmate and that love conquers all? As Meg said in the Disney movie Hercules:”People always do crazy things when they’re in love.”
I totally enjoyed this book. It was a fun-filled made you laugh romantic story of a single mom and a single dad who just happened to become neighbors. Jameson who is a single dad to his son Stein and Lily-Marie who is mom of Milly and Clark. I enjoyed the laughs at how they both had found articles on how to get a husband or a wife. What these two did following the steps of these articles keeps you so intrigued that you have to keep turning the pages. As you turn the pages you know how the ending most likely will end but its comical knowing how they both go about it. Thanks Marika, for another fabulous book and I look forward to your next in this series. Definite 5++++ Stars.
This is a fantastic little read. Single parent Jameson, a science professor, moves in next to Lily-Marie, also a single parent. Jameson is on a mission to prove to his son that love doesn’t exist except through blood. He uses a list written by his his grandmother in 1959 of 50 Ways To Find A Wife as a way to prove he can’t make his new neighbor fall in love. Lily-Marie finds a list also written by dear old Grams of 50 Ways To Find A Husband. The experiments are hilarious. We have 2 clueless single parents, 3 kids along for the ride, a bff that writes about it all in her blog, laughs and chemistry galore.
This was a fun romcom to read! Couldn’t quit laughing. What more can you ask in a book a single mom a single dad and kids that ask questions! Perfect storyline and amazing characters!
This book is hilarious, romantic, sexy. It confirm my beliefs that Nerds can be Hot!!
We get Lily – Marie, single parent of two. She’s a romantic, lover of all Disney fairy tales who is looking for her real life Prince charming.
Next door we get our science Professor, also a single dad to a boy who doesn’t believe true love exists.
Then the author takes on a journey proving this two their theories were wrong. Along the way we’ll laugh, swoon and fall in love with this great characters.
