This single parent dating experiment is about to go viral… ready and I’m dead set on experimenting on my new neighbor, the single mom who does the weirdest things.
But my experiment goes awry in unexplainable ways…
Lily-Marie
When dating apps fail me spectacularly, I decide to go old school and use a 1950s magazine I dug up at a yard sale to help find Mr. Right.
Fifty Ways to Find a Husband.
Sounds legit.
Problem is, my new neighbor, Mr. Science Professor, keeps blocking my attempts. And keeps losing his shirt. How does a book nerd have so many muscles anyway? Thing is, my kids like his son and we start spending a lot of time together, which is distracting me from my ultimate goal: to find a husband to sweep me off my feet and be a good father to my kids.
Things get comical quick when my best friend records everything in her daily newspaper column. I can’t help but wonder if single moms like me can actually catch a husband. Or will this Mom-Com go viral as an epic train wreck?

What a fun book! I can’t wait to read more by Marika Ray!
Mom com is everything I want in a single parent romcom. I’ve read quite a few or Marika’s books and I swear they keep getting better and better.
Mom-Com might be the first book I have read by Markia Ray but it definitely won’t be the last!!! This book cracks you up from page one! Poor Lily-Marie is a romantic through and through. She is still looking for that prince charming to come and sweep her off her feet. With the guidance from her best friend she’s been crashing and burning in the internet dating world and is all but ready to give up hope.
Jameson is a college professor who doesn’t believe in love. He’s definitely a mans man who takes a very scientific approach to things. He’s determined to prove that the perfect woman and love don’t exist. What can go wrong? Although he’s the ultimate alpha male with beautiful muscles he’s not written as an asshole. The way the author writes him you’ll want him for yourself, especially with how clueless Lily-Marie is!
You can’t help but love this sweet funny romance. Rush to pick it up you won’t regret it!
This book was an easy fun read that you can’t help but enjoy. I laughed and rooted for the characters. Definitely worth the read
Mom-Com was my first read from author Marika Ray and it was an an interesting read.
I am new to single mom and dad romances but I definitely liked the characters Jameson and Lily-Marie who are likeable. I liked how both had different perspectives on love and their personalities and moments together made for an entertaining read.
This book was a great read with lots of moments of laughter, tension, good chemistry and overall is a book with heart and soul.
A cute story of Lily- Marie and Jameson. The single mom next door and the sexy professor who are both trying to find answers. Answers that neither one of them expected to find in each other. A great laugh out loud story that is a cute as a button!!
I enjoyed this funny Rom-Com. This book was a funny, easy to read and hard to put down. Lily was looking for a husband and wanting fairytale princess treatment. She found a article from a 1950’s magazine, 50 way to find a husband. Lily tested this out on any male in her path. Except her hot new neighbor. Slowly but surely Jameson ended up being just who Lily was looking for.
Jameson and his son were new to town. He was a science professor. He was trying to prove romantic love didn’t exist to his son. After reading an article from a 1950’s magazine, 50 ways to find a wife.. He tried his experiment out on his neighbor. I didn’t take Jameson long before his experiment completely backfired in his face. Jameson fell for Lily hook line and sinker.
This couple found their happily-ever after. It was sweet, romantic and hilarious. I hope to see another book with Lily’s friend Gaby getting her own fairy tale.
Hope to read more bty this author in the future.
Marika Ray has written another great one. Lily-Marie is a single mom to two young children, who has just recently tried the online/app scene for dating. So far she has not met anyone she wants to date. She goes to a yard sale and finds an article on 50 ways to win your husband, so she buys the magazine, goes home, and starts tweaking the list down and will begin looking for her Prince Charming by doing things off of the list. Jameson just moved in next door to Lily-Marie, and he is a science professor. Jameson is emailed a copy of 50 ways to win your wife by his father. Jameson does not believe that true love exists or that it is even possible. Lily-Marie works at Disney as an executive assistant. She wants to meet her Prince Charming. So you can see that these are two opposites. Lindsey starts working her way down her list and trying things on random guys, but she doesn’t try anything with Jameson. This is definitely an opposites attract type of book. This books will give you all the feels – laughter, tears, etc. Lily-Marie, Jameson and the three children all have strong and dynamic personalities. If you are looking for a book that will make you laugh and cry – this is the perfect book for you!
YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW YOUR HEART TO BE TRULY HAPPY
I don’t think I’ve laughed at a book this hard in a long time. Two people, Jameson, a single parent professor, and Lily-Marie, a single mother who works as an executive-assistant for Disney, have decided that they are going to find love via a 1950s article written by Jameson’s grandmother. Neither knew the other was following the same venue. Their screw-ups and attempts make for an enjoyable read. Follow these two to see if the experiment of getting Lily-Marie to fall in love with Jameson and Lily-Marie’s search for a husband – not Jameson – pans out.
This was kinda like a comedy of errors. Jameson didn’t believe in love and Lily-Marie wanted it. I found it funny that they basically had the same possibly outdated article -geared to their own gender- for finding a mate. He tried it out on Lily-Marie to try prove it didn’t work, and she tried it out on every single man but Jameson, but was foiled every time. It was sweet, hilarious, and a little inspiring, too.
Opposites really do attract!! Jameson and Lily-Marie couldn’t be more different in how they are looking for in partners, he thinks more scientifically and she is more of a romantic. Can these single parents and neighbors find their perfect match? this book is well paced, witty, and an enjoyable read
loved this book. it was super cute and super funny a very light hearted romantic comedy. highly recommend
This is my first book by this author and now I’m a fan!! This book was hilarious!!!!! The things these two single parents do to try and find ” the one” is hilarious! I laughed so hard reading this one. One of my favorite parts of this book is when Lily-Marie is telling her best friend all of her dating mishaps! Omg!!! Seriously loved this one!
Lily-Marie is a single mother of two who is wanting to rekindle her love life by looking for prince charming, but he is not in the dating apps her friend Gabby suggests she try. So she is on another mission to find Mr. Prince Charming doing the things that she finds in this old magazine 50- Ways to find Mr. Right. Jameson is a Science Professor at a near by college and the neighbor of Lily-Marie who’s Grandmother is the author of the article of 50-Ways to find Mr. Right. He is also looking for love but he doesn’t think it exists. He vows to use his Grandmother’s list but turn it around and to find Ms. Right. He sets his sights on Lily-Marie but will she bite. In this fun Rom-Com it takes you page turning to find out what will happen next.
I was gifted this book from the Author.
This book was sooooo swoonworthy. Oh my goodness. It started a little slow for me, but it picked up quickly and was so adorable. Jameson and Lily-Marie set out to use old school ways to find love with other people, but those old school ways lead to love in ways they weren’t looking for or expecting – but absolutely needed.
These two characters have amazing chemistry, and this story had several laugh-out-loud moments that really kept me engaged. It was sweet, sassy, sexy, and fun. Perfect poolside read (or a read anytime, honestly)!
This book was so cute and so much fun to read! The kids definitely add a lot to this book. They each have their own opinions and voice them openly. I laughed so much while reading this. I swear both characters took their own versions of the list and did their best to prove it a)wouldn’t work and b) you can’t make someone fall in love with you. Jameson and Lily-Marie were clearly the perfect fit, they just weren’t aware of it. They are neighbors and the kids go to the same school. I had to laugh how much they tried to avoid each other but they can’t help bumping into each other. Jameson is awkward at times because of smart brain but he definitely has a close bond with his son. It was obvious as was Lily-Marie as well. You will seriously love this book and laugh a lot at their antics during all this! I sure did!
This book was fun to read. Lily is a single mom trying to raise her 2 kids. She is looking for prince charming. She wants a guy that will snughle with her and watch disney princess movies. Jameson is a single that only believes in science. He hatches a plan to show his son that romantic love doesn’t exist. Lily and Jameson find old articles about finding love. This was a sweet read and flowed great.
A really funny and cute story.
I laughed alot reading this story and rooted for both characters.
Mom-Com was such a fun, refreshing read. I really enjoyed that Marika Ray created relatable characters. Lily Marie is beautiful but not perfectly perfect and Jameson is a fit, nerdy professor who is completely awkward but endearing. Between his bits of awkward and her bits of crazy their story progresses and there are some seriously swoony moments that I loved. I can’t wait for Gabby’s story as the author definitely piqued my interest in what is going on in her life in this book
This books was just too cute. I loved every minute of it. I’m now anxiously waiting for Gabby’s book. Hopefully don’t have to wait too long.
