Now a major motion picture, written and directed by Aaron Sorkin and starring Jessica Chastain, Idris Elba, Kevin Costner, and Michael Cera—the true story of “Hollywood’s poker princess” who gambled everything, won big, then lost it all.Molly Bloom reveals how she built one of the most exclusive, high-stakes underground poker games in the world—an insider’s story of excess and danger, glamour and … excess and danger, glamour and greed.
In the late 2000s, Molly Bloom, a twentysomething petite brunette from Loveland Colorado, ran the highest stakes, most exclusive poker game Hollywood had ever seen—she was its mistress, its lion tamer, its agent, and its oxygen. Everyone wanted in, few were invited to play.
Hundreds of millions of dollars were won and lost at her table. Molly’s game became the game for those in the know—celebrities, business moguls, and millionaires. Molly staged her games in palatial suites with beautiful views and exquisite amenities. She flew privately, dined at exclusive restaurants, hobnobbed with the heads of Hollywood studios, was courted by handsome leading men, and was privy to the world’s most delicious gossip, until it all came crashing down around her.
Molly’s Game is a behind the scenes look at Molly’s game, the life she created, the life she lost, and what she learned in the process.

This is a riveting true story. Molly Bloom was raised in a competitive family. She was smart and a quick learner, and once she was exposed to the world of high stakes underground poker games, she saw the potential and knew she could do it bigger and better. After seeing the movie, I wanted to read the book. The movie doesn’t name names but the …
This was a fantastic book. Another true crime novel where I stayed up too late because I couldn’t put it down. Read this in less than a week. That’s big for me. Definitely a must read.
the girl had balls, I’ll give her that!
good
enjoyable
What an interesting, true story…easy to see why it was made into a movie.
Page turner true story loved it
Saw the movie so wanted to read the book. Interesting story and inside scoop on high stakes amateur poker playing as well as Molly’s rising maturity. Good read!
The writing is not excellent, but this true story sure is remarkable! Could hardly keep up with Molly – what a wizard of a woman!
This book is about the world of Molly Bloom, who ran and organized poker games in LA and NY. Molly is from a Colorado family that produced great Olympic-level skiers. Molly was injured in a ski accident and went to LA to find her fortune. This book is a fun read. The money these people (not “professional” poker players for the most part) is …
Good story. An interesting read. Not my favorite characters, but that’s real life. Definitely worth reading.
Hard to describe but so loved it. Mesmerizing. Unpredictable. FASCINATING! A fascinating look into a lifestyle I will never come close to experiencing.
Very interesting. Who knew all this went on with the rich and famous.
Amazing to watch how adrenaline and greed overtake a young smart woman. Fascinating interesting but no redeeming value. Hope she figures out how to use her skills to do something remarkably useful for humanity!
I liked this book, based on a true story and well written.
I guess I thought this would be better.
A good read – hard to put down
Hollywood, High Finance and Superstars all wrapped up in a true tale of a twisted American Dream.
This book really held my attention. It is well-written .
The subject of the book—high stakes poker—was depressing to me because so much money was lost by some people. Gambling seems such a waste of time and energy but there are those who view it as entertainment. Ultimately, it caused a life crisis for the author and she had to take herself in …
