If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I absolutely refuse to tell a lie no matter the consequences. So don’t ask me a direct question unless you’re prepared for a direct answer—that’s something my SoCal sewing girlfriends have learned the hard way.But who would have thought my honesty policy would get me fired from my job at the preschool? Or that a desperate—and not to mention … mention devastatingly handsome—single father of one of my (now-former) students would hire me that same day as a nanny for his daughter?
I’m an education professional. How hard can taking care of a four-year-old and her over-stressed, over-worked father be?

Molly grabbed my attention in the very first chapter when she lost her job because she was too honest. How can a person be too honest? Isn’t that supposed to be a trait we all strive toward? As I walked beside her through the pages of this totally fun and fantastic tale it quickly became evident that Molly’s problem was not exactly honesty but the wisdom in knowing how much to say and when to say it.
Honestly though, I thoroughly enjoyed all of Molly’s exploits as she went from a job as a preschool teacher to one as a nanny to one child of a widower who was also working through his hospital residency. Molly and Ben’s story was sweet, funny, and romantic. It was delightful witnessing the growth of their relationship with all its ups and downs. Both characters were easy to love, especially Molly with her tender heart and Ben as a father determined to take care of his little girl no matter what it took.
Molly was a welcome ray of sunshine during this season of uncertainty in our world. I hope others will find it as much of an escape as I did.

Molly Osbourne has to leave her job as a Montessori preschool teacher. As luck, or divine intervention, would have it, the father of one of her preschool students is looking for a nanny for his four-year old daughter! Ben and Molly are drawn to each other from the start! He hires her to take care of his daughter part time even though she is studying for her online college classes! But, his daughter, Chloe, isn’t the only one who needs some love! This nanny arrangement leads to some really funny scenes as Molly, Ben, and Chloe’s lives become bound together with the daily service she provides!
I really loved the funny way Molly elaborates in her mind the way I or anyone would about ridiculous situations! She really cannot sing! The sewing jokes told by Molly’s club were hilarious!
One of her most enduring traits is her honesty!
Molly’s family consists of just her father and mother! They both served in the army!
I don’t like how Molly’s mother questions her. It feels off like I want to defend Molly. It is a little strange that her mother seems so tender at one point when that seems out of character based on the description of her character previously and the uptight way she raised Molly. I loved this a lot that their relationship seemed to heal on both sides though!
“Mortification, how cruel is your company.”
Mom’s with little kids, or who once had little kids, will find Molly’s interactions with toddler Chloe in this book sound really familiar! These scenes really made me smile as I reminisced about fun times with my own toddlers! Get a copy and read this delightfully sweet romance!

This book was a hilarious read. Molly is so down to earth and her honesty is an enviable trait. I love how brutally honest she is. Sarah Monzon tackles serious issues while weaving an enjoyable story. She deals with honesty and the struggles and effect moving around as a Military child.
Ben is a sweet father to his adorable girl and the story is told from both his and Molly’s point of view.
This is an amazing start to the new series ‘Sewing in SoCal’ by Sarah Monzon.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author/publisher via Just Read Tours. All opinions are mine.
I loved this one! Molly is my first read from Sarah Monzon, but I really like her writing style.
The whole cast is wonderful. Molly is so relatable and all of Molly’s friends are hilarious! I can’t wait to read their stories. They cracked me up and I loved them almost instantly. And Ben is wonderful, but the Ben + Chloe combo? ADORABLE. I melt.
Molly has an excellent balance between humor and heart. I laughed out loud several times, but the romance is also sweet and swoon-worthy. Overall, it’s such a cute, fun read with unexpected emotional depth. I highly recommend it for fans of clean contemporary romances with an inspirational thread.

Talk about delightful, this was a wonderful book that had me smiling from start till the end. There’s lots of smiling and some laugh out my moments for me
From the beginning when we meet Molly and Ben, it’s an interesting premise. I loved Molly’s desire to always be truthful, which has put her in trouble a time or two and then then she meets Ben. He’s a single father who just wants the best for his daughter but is too busy with work. I could relate a lot with Ben and I appreciated the work that went into researching his character, it was well done.
The romance was slow but fun to read about. They knew they cared about each other but were unwilling to act on it due to several reasons. I’m glad it all worked out in the end.
This was an awesome start to a wonderful series and I’m definitely looking forward to Jocelyn. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All opinions expressed are solely mine.
Can we talk about this fun cover? As soon as I saw it I knew I had to read it. Yes, I am totally one of those visual people that judges the book by the cover. I am really trying to get better! I love that we meet both characters right at the beginning of the book. Molly is such a fun and endearing character. We meet her at the beginning of the book as she is being let go from her job for being too honest with the kids, and although it is sad, it is the best thing for her as we meet Ben who is looking for a nanny for his daughter.
Oh the love story between them is quite lovely! I love how they relate to each other and both have their quirkiness and awkwardness that makes them relatable. They are both drawn to each other right away but don’t act on it for different reasons. You will laugh (out loud at times) at their interactions and swoon a bit!
I love the group of friends that she has and their hobby! They are the girlfriends that we all want to be with and have in our corner. They all bring something different to the friendship group. I can’t wait to read their own stories!
Sarah Monzon did a great job at introducing this new fun series! She does touch on some current topics to our time which I felt were out of place in the scheme of the story but then again I am one of those people that when I read fiction its to get away from all the current things going on in our world.

If you are looking for your next good romance read, look no further than Molly- the first book in Sarah Monzon’s new Sewing in SoCal series.
In this book, we meet Molly, obviously. She is studying to be a teacher, but she has one little problem: she cannot tell a lie. While that doesn’t sound like much of a problem, but it certainly gets her in trouble at times. As such, she finds herself fired from her job as a teacher’s aid. Thankfully, a handsome doctor and single father comes to her aid and offers her a job taking care of his daughter. Sparks fly and create a fun romance that will have you smiling from start to finish.
This book truly had everything that a good RomCom should have. The characters were quirky and likeable… and not just the romantic leads but the various side characters as well. I loved meeting the other women in Molly’s sewing club, and found myself looking forward to getting to know them better in future books. The premise is unique and leads to lots of laughs— right from the very start! I found myself laughing out loud on several occasions, that’s for sure. And it was a CLEAN read too, which is great for those of us who enjoy the romance without anything extra. Personally, I must admit I enjoyed some of the SoCal and military references as well as it brought me back to our days stationed in California.
Overall, this was a fun read, and a super quick one too. If you enjoy a sweet, romantic comedy, this is certainly one worth checking out!
**I received a complimentary copy of this book for consideration. All thoughts are my own.
This was a fun story. I really liked the way the chemistry developed between Ben and Molly. I have to admit, though, as I first started reading this book, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like Molly. There is a difference between being truthful and spewing information that is not age appropriate at children. I did not like that Molly did not seem to know how to balance the two, and I hoped she would learn common sense regarding her truth telling.
But she ended up really growing on me and I appreciated learning her background regarding why she had developed this truth telling compunction.
Molly’s empathy and her caring toward Ben and his daughter, Chloe, was perfect. Her sweet heart was obvious in those moments.
Ben was a great character who had loved his late wife dearly. It was great to see him awaken to love again as his feelings for Molly emerged. He felt like a very real character, just making his way through work each day and trying to be a good father to his daughter. There were plenty of lighthearted and fun moments in this romantic comedy novel, but good heart moments, as well.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
A delightful romcom that had me laughing out loud for real! The romance was adorable. I loved the storyline so much. The friendships were so fun and I am absolutely looking forward to the rest of the series!
This book is just incredible! First, it was the book cover and then the characters in the book.
I laughed and thoroughly enjoyed every page.
I love Molly and Doctor Ben. You can’t help expanding your heart to love Chloe and Molly’s friends.
This is the first book by the author I have read and I can’t wait to read more!
I learnt a lot from Dr. Ben about medicine. His adverse reaction to bacteria and infections amused me. I love how careful and hygienic he is.
This is a book that pulls you deeper into its pages.
Such a good book you will love. I highly recommend this book to those searching for a light, fun- filled novel.

I loved, loved this book! <3
There is so much HEART! And the story flows perfectly!
This is obviously turning out to be a gushy review, so I will say this. Sarah Monzon is a brilliant writer and she's sowed a beautiful story that, yes, is "light", but also full of depth.
My only complaint is that it was too short 😉
MOLLY is about a quirky, won’t-tell-a-lie woman who finds that her honesty has landed her jobless, but is rescued by one of her former student’s father who needs a nanny. She has a group of friends who are a riot, who gather regularly for their sewing group (although some of them come for moral and food support and not to sew). Mix in an adorable four-year-old and sparks between her father and the new nanny and you have a delightful read!
Molly was seriously such a quirky, sweet, and fun character! A bit radical in her desire to always be one hundred percent honest (and not always in ways I agreed with), but it’s that tendency that lands her as a nanny for the dashing Dr. Ben. What ensues is a heartfelt story with plenty of humor and a few sparks. I particularly loved the scene when Ben shows up to help Molly’s friend who cut her foot. So hilarious! I’m very curious to see how the other stories who center on the rest of the friends in this group turn out.
My one complaint would be the ending. I was enjoying the slowly-building romance and then it just seemed to speed up and be done and all tied with a bow without further development. I also wasn’t too keen on Ben’s parents and what was decided at the end either – it felt like a forced and a bit of an unrealistic plot point when Ben has a three bedroom house, among other things.
In the end, was it what I wished for? This was a very entertaining read! Great characters, a sweet child, plenty of humor, and a delightful romance.

An utterly adorable romantic comedy, full of heart and new beginnings.
Molly’s problem is an answer to Resident Doctor Ben Reed’s prayers. His long unpredictable hours at the hospital make it difficult for the single father to find reliable care for his 4 year old daughter, Chloe, so when he walks-in on his daughter’s favorite pre-school teacher being let go, the opportunity is too good to pass up.
The first in a new series centering on a close knit sewing group in Southern California. Molly has a love of learning that she is a natural at passing on; she is honest to a fault, with a heart for others. I loved how she has such a supportive friend group, and I loved her mom.
Ben is a devoted father, struggling to maintain the balancing act of his life, working long hours. I loved how he is also surrounded by amazing friends and family, and how he is passionate about his career.
This was a quick read, filled with humor, faith, and great chemistry between the main characters. After flipping down the last page I was ready to go right into the next book in the series, but alas it had not been released yet. Chloe is such an adorable little girl, and I love how the author based her on her own young daughter, her beautiful inquisitive innocence was perfection. This author does an excellent job of building characters, and even though some of the supporting characters didn’t get a ton of page space, she made every inch count to create believable people and relationships. A highly enjoyable read, I was constantly finding that I just couldn’t keep a smile from my face throughout this heartwarming and humorous gem.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
So. Funny. I loved Molly’s voice! Fresh, quirky, self-aware, and self-accepting. The honesty policy sounds like a good life rule… until you quickly learn how convenient it can be to bend the truth in uncomfortable situations- like the one that got Molly fired. Ironically, her candid, scientific answer about body functions also gets her hired by the handsome and desperate doctor to care for his precocious daughter. Of course, attraction ensues while Molly becomes an integral part of the little family, though not without some all-too-realistic mishaps. I liked how the author shows how Molly’s childhood experiences have influenced the importance of integrity in her life. The story is told from both Molly and Ben’s first person POV, which made it interesting and fun to get in Ben’s head as well. Recommend to fans of clean contemporary romance and especially those who loved The Match by Sarah Adams.

It has been a long while since I was captivated by a book to the point where I did not put it down. The characters were so strong and I have to say, Chloe was a highlight of the story.
I was really enthralled by the storytelling. This book just seemed to flow right along and there were no hiccups of any sort. I felt like I could have been there with the characters.
The reason I moved the rating down half a star was because I did not feel like I was able to tell apart the girls of the SoCal group. They seemed to blur together and that may have to do with the fact that this is the first book though.
I highly recommend this one to fans of Melissa Ferguson and Kara Isaac. It will not disappoint.

*I received a copy of this novel from the author. All thoughts are my own and a positive review was not required.
Molly was a ridiculously fun read. I needed a good laugh and this provided many. But there was also a lot of depth there too. I loved the balance.
Molly tells the truth no matter what, almost to a fault sometimes. We see just how much trouble her unfiltered honesty can get her into within the first few pages. She’s an entertaining and unpredictable character, that’s for sure.
I loved Dr. Ben. He’s such a good and caring man. He wants the absolute best for his daughter, but he’s being pulled in so many different directions it’s hard to give her the attention she deserves. It’s so sweet the lengths he goes to for her.
Each chapter switches the narration between Molly and Ben, and because they’re both told in first person I’d sometimes get confused about which one of them was narrating at the time. But all in all, I had a really great time reading this book and am looking forward to the rest of the series.
A sweet story perfect for a fun weekend read. Cute characters and a light story line was just what I needed for an escape from the chaos that is this year. I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait for the next one in the series. I purchased the audible version and the narrator is fantastic as well! Highly recommend!
I did receive this book for review but I also purchased the Audible and hard copy versions. I was not required to post a positive review.
I loved all the characters, so fun! I feel in love with this book from the very first page. Molly had me laughing so hard at her fun and quirky personality. This story really grabbed my heart and I felt as if I had stepped into Molly’s life. This is a book that if you put it down your mind is constantly jumping back to it just itching to finish. Your emotions will be whipped back and forth with this fun sweet read. There is so much to love about this story, from sweet little Chloe, Molly’s sewing friends to a clean sweet romance. I can’t wait to read more books by Sarah Monzon!
Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
What a cute read! I’m not normally the romantic comedy book type (I save that for the holiday Hallmark movies), but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Molly is a quirky but easy to love character who falls in love with the hunky doctor whose life is complicated.
Molly has a stellar group of girl friends that anyone would be jealous of. Their bond is unique, and I’m already excited to dive into more of their lives.
The faith aspect of this quick read is woven in so seamlessly that it doesn’t feel out of place, but natural to the character’s personalities.
My favorite part was the military twist, and Molly’s thoughtfulness on being raised a military “brat”. As a military brat myself, I found myself relating to Molly in a lot of ways. I’m also an only child and have a learned skill of befriending someone in every room. Oh, and the allure of home and roots, I felt her plight all to well! It was a great book without all of that, but the added layer of personal relatability made it a home run for me. I can’t wait for the next installment!
Last but not least, that cover!! It’s so fun and inviting. I can’t wait to instagram it!
I won a free copy of the audiobook from the author, with no expectations of a review. All opinions are my own, and I will definitely be buying the remaining installments of this series!
I think this was a fun lighthearted book and enjoyed reading it. The start of the book is definitely four year old Chloé. She’s just the cutest with an inquisitive mind. Molly is such a likable character and fun. I’m looking forward to more books with her friends as the star. I received a copy of this book from the author. All views stated here are my own.
