My family’s scandal is my fall from grace. The night of my seventeenth birthday leads to the final event that catapults my future in a different direction. One call for help turns into my only chance of survival. Now, the only way to stay safe is to keep hidden.Hidden in a small town in the middle of “No-where”, Minnesota, away from my friends, my prestigious school, and my family, I have to mesh … family, I have to mesh with the other hidden children in order to survive.
Though, it’s not just the Bogeyman that keeps me up at night…
Ciaran Jakobe, with his frosty blue eyes and instant dislike for me sets my nerves on end. There is no escaping his sharp words and constant torment. Every push from him sparks a fire of fight inside me. Every smirk from his full, pink lips makes me want to punch him in the face. He’s my nemesis and my dark hero.
I may be paying for my parent’s mistakes but I won’t let a Midwest Boy get the best of me.

#MNGirl by A. M. Brooks is the First book in the Midwest Boys Series. This is the story of Saylor whose father ends up embezzling money and then running off leaving Saylor, her younger sister and mother to deal with the fallout. Their lives become threaten when they have break in attempts but more so when her mother if confronted. This leads Saylor’s mom to call Matt who runs a relocation operation called Rogue, for innocent people who are witness or mainly need protection. Matt has her mother and sister go to another location while bring Saylor back with him which leads her to meet his nephew Ciaran Jakobe and his friends Silas and Kai. Although Ciran is a high School senior he and his friends help Matt out with the Rogue company. But Ciran has issues with Saylor and makes it know through school that she isn’t welcomed. This does end with a cliffhanger setting us up for the next installment into this series, which I can’t wait to read. This was a page turning read for me.
This is the first book in the Midwest Boys Series, and the story of Saylor. When Saylor is forced to go into hiding, she meets Cieran, who isn’t so happy to have her around. This was a great read, well written, and the characters kept me engaged the whole time. This was dramatic, intense, twisted, mysterious, steamy, and dramatic.
