I liked the female paralegal lead character who solved the mystery. She was smart in piecing together the purpose of the murders and flawed in her personal life. The final confrontation was clever. The book is a great read.
Always been a big fan of Deaver. Like his style. Have read many of his stories and this was another good one.
Whoa. Usually love Deaver books, but this one draaaaggged, despite a decent start (which is the only reason I gave it 2 stars). If this was the improved (re-written) version, I can’t imagine what the original was like.
While it had plenty of action, bad guys, scary guys, and a plucky heroine, I couldn’t understand the timing. I don’t see how anyone had time to find lunch much less get into all the messes that were presented. There was no balance to the story. It was all serious drama and needed some calm passages or humor to give the story some rhythm .
Having been a paralegal for 35 years I was skeptical, but thoroughly enjoyed this book. A bit unrealistic as to the relationship with the attorney/boss, but otherwise quite good.
There were many suspects which keeps you guessing.
This author is one of my favorites. I loved this book..
I have read all of Deaver and I love everyone.
Another great book by one of my favorite authors, never bad
loved it, very twisted and full of surprises
Typical of Deaver. Interesting plot and great conclusion.
Always enjoy this author
This was one of Deaver’s better efforts. Truly enjoyed this one & the ending was a surprise.
It was different from his other books. It was like reading a John Grisham novel but I liked it.
Not your typical Deaver, not so good
Loved this book
IT WAS OKAY, BUT NOT UP TO HIS USUAL VERY HIGH STANDARD.
Well written, but thought it should have ended long before it did. Have read many of his books & he is an excellent writer, but this one dragged on & on.
This was a very unpredictable plot. Every time I thought I had it figured out, it would take a turn. Kept me on my toes. Love Jeffrey Deaver!
This was a really good book for light reading and for fun. I love Jeffery Deaver and have read all of his Lincoln Rhyme books. This book was much lighter and I did not like the fact that I didn’t already know all about the main characters! However, I did learn everyone fairly fast. The story is about a woman whose father wants her to be a lawyer, …
