Normally, Deaver really holds my interest, but this ones a clunker. I don’t put many books down, but I just couldn’t waste any more time waiting for something to happen! Boring characters, thin story line.
Already reviewed it.
As usual Jeffrey Deaver is a great storyteller
Every thing this author writes is excellent and worth reading. He is a treasure.
Great book!
Jeffrey Deaver is a master of storytelling! I can usually figure “who done it” in many authors books, but not his! I love his twists!!
Terrific as usual…
A well-written crime thriller. I like the main character, Taylor Lockwood and hope Jeffery Denver continues a series with her as the protagonist.
I thought it was well written and kept my interest to the end.
I’ve read all of Jeffery Deaver’s books and am always on the lookout for a new one!
did not see that ending coming
Not up to normal Deaver standards. Way too many characters. Way too many despicable characters. So many of the litany of lawyers and high-stakes financiers are acting like, well, coaches from Louisville or Steelers Quarterbacks that it becomes overwhelming. Halfway through, I am skimming pages, just looking for the plot to be pushed forward — …
Not bad. A bit predictable, toward the end. A decent mystery. Gets your attention and keeps you interested to know the end.
Since I was a paralegal for 20 years, I especially enjoyed this. Readers of John Grisham will love it. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve ever read of Jeffrey Deaver especially the Lincoln Rhyme series.
This was not as good as some of Deavers other books in my opinion. I guess I didn’t like the characters as much and the story seemed too drag. I kept wondering when it was going to get more interesting. I have it 3 stars only because Deaver is a good writer and it may appeal to people who haven’t read any of his other work.
Hard to follow. Not his best
Good book for the beach
I normally like Jeffery Deaver’s books, but this one was lousy. I very rarely put down a book without finishing it. I did this one. To me it was very contrived. I cannot recommend this book.
One of those “I should have seen that coming” endings.
Main characters are like-able, but not love-able (they are lawyers)
A great read, authentic accounts, surprising
