I loved this novella! It is a wonderfully caring story of two people who are dealing with a relatable relationship issue… Communication. Veronica and Roland’s story starts in the middle of their relationship but the novella provides enough backstory to draw the readers attention and emotions in. This is a lovely holiday tale that keeps you turning the page from beginning to the HEA end!
3.5 Mistletoe Filled Stars!!!
This is another short, quick read from Mayra Statham. Normally I’m falling in love with her stories and characters. No matter how long or short the book is. Saying that I must admit this was my least favorite book from her.
Veronica knows Roland will never get married. He’s been burned in the past. She tried to let it not bother her too much. When he starts acting funny Veronica doesn’t know what to do to change it. She ends up breaking up with him. Veronica just hopes she didn’t make a mistake by doing so.
Roland has been burnt before. He swore to himself he’d never get married, fall in love all that. But, when he starts catching real feelings for Veronica, he’s not sure how to handle them. Let alone tell her. Before he gets the chance too Veronica broke up with him. Roland Bowes to win Veronica back no matter what it takes. Including bringing mistletoe into their lives.
This was a cute read. But, I couldn’t connect with either Roland or Veronica. It had a lot of hot and sweaty fun. I just wish there were more storyline.
This was such a sweet, quick read that will get just about anyone in the mood for the holidays and the hunt for the perfect cheesy Hallmark Christmas movie. Veronica made me so sad with her certainty that the man she loves is trying to get free of her, and I wanted to cry for her misery and heartbreak. Roland, on the other hand, made me smile because he was willing to do what so many men aren’t: anything for the woman he loves. Heck, he’s willing to make the grandest of gestures, even knowing that it means cleaning misery ahead (I feel you, buddy; I, too, love/hate the holidays because of the extra mess that pretty decorations bring!), as long as it proves to Veronica that she’s his forever. His actions serve to prove that love is worth taking a slight hit to the ego and made for a fabulous “I love you and you’re my future” story.
Short and so sweet! This is a perfect Christmas novella that will for sure make your heart happy. Mayra can write a short story like no one else. She grabs your attention on the first page and then gives you everything you love in between. I don’t want to spoil anything so let me just say READ THIS STORY. Smile and swoon just like I did.

If you’re looking for the perfect fun short holiday read, you found it. This was fun, sexy, scorching hot and you’ll never look at mistletoe the same was again. Mayra’s has a gift with her writing. This story, like her others is a realistic, beautiful love story, with ups and downs, like we all experience. I laughed a lot and yet and the end brought me to tears. A 5 star read.
Rolly and Veronica haven’t been communicating. Veronica is convinced he is breaking up with her. She is going to beat him to it. But will it be what they both really want? Will Rolly be able to show her just what she means to him before it is too late?
