A Christmas novella with cookie recipes included! The Timberton Hotel has always provided a perfect Christmas retreat for regular guests, as well as newcomers. But the small town of Timberton, Montana, hasn’t been the same since resident chef and artist, Mist, arrived, bringing a unique new age flavor to the old western town. When guests check in for the holidays, they bring along worries, fears … worries, fears and broken hearts, unaware that Mist has a way of working magic in people’s lives. Old-fashioned time spent together, exquisite food, conversation and a snowball or two offer guests a chance to trade sadness for hope. One thing is certain: no matter how cold winter’s grip is on each guest, no one leaves Timberton without a warmer heart.

There was not a lot of plot in this book, no real crises. But it was a sweet story with likeable characters, and everything turned out well.
There was a lot of “talk” about cookies and at the end of the book were all the recipes! I just made the Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and everyone raves! So – a fun read and good recipes. What more could you want?
I didn’t realize this was one of a series of books. I went back to read the first in the series.
Delightful light Christmas season read:)
This was not at all what I expected. It is a glimpse into the holiday of the caretakers and guests at the Inn in Timberton. This was my first book by this author. I went in expecting a quick romance read set during the holidays. What I got was a magical atmosphere, interesting characters, a beautiful Christmas, and not a lot of story. I wanted more. I wanted more from Mist. I wanted more from the guests. It felt underdeveloped and I was a bit disappointed. The writing is beautiful and there is an element of peace woven into the story of a few days at Christmas. It is written in third person and primarily revolves around Mist and her response to the guests at the inn.
Couldn’t get past the first few pages.
It was not an engrossing book, just ok.
Feel good story.
Wonderful Christmas story.
Makes you wish for an old fashioned Christmas.
Wonderful Christmas book to read! Happy Happy!
Very sweet. light-hearted ,entertaining , ideas of how to be more thoughtful and kind.
Fun read. Great recipes at the end of the book
Great recipes is a bonus.
Spend 3 days with the guests whose lives are enhanced my mystic Ms Mist at a holiday Inn for the few days around Christmas. That is the first 2/3rds of book. Warms the heart. The last 1/3rd or more is recipes for all the amazing desserts Mist makes or others bring to the cookie exchange.
It was a pleasant enough book with likable characters, but it really didn’t have a compelling story or plot and I felt like it lacked real substance.
Nice easy read at the holidays with warm characters and setting
inspiring. It shows the little things mean a lot to people who don’t ask for anything. Its the idea that someone cares enough to show one matters, even if they are a stranger.
A simplistic story. In an idealistic setting. Biblical precepts.
Kind of predictable. Nice Holiday story.
