A Christmas novella with cookie recipes included! The Timberton Hotel has always provided a perfect Christmas retreat for regular guests, as well as newcomers. But the small town of Timberton, Montana, hasn’t been the same since resident chef and artist, Mist, arrived, bringing a unique new age flavor to the old western town. When guests check in for the holidays, they bring along worries, fears … worries, fears and broken hearts, unaware that Mist has a way of working magic in people’s lives. Old-fashioned time spent together, exquisite food, conversation and a snowball or two offer guests a chance to trade sadness for hope. One thing is certain: no matter how cold winter’s grip is on each guest, no one leaves Timberton without a warmer heart.

I love Christmas-themed holiday romances and Deborah Garner is a new-to-me author (Yay!) who has a whole series of Christmas novellas: The Moonglow Christmas series. With Mistletoe at Moonglow, she pulled me in with the book’s pretty, romantic title and kept me cozily entertained till the end.
Definitely a book to read with hot tea and something sweet to eat in hand. 🙂
A VERY SWEET GIFT!
I enjoyed reading Deborah Garner’s Moonglow Café set in Timberton, Montana a couple of years ago with Paige MacKenzie as the main character. This season when I saw Mistletoe at Moonglow, I just had to go back for a holiday visit!
Although Paige was not among the guests, I was delighted to read of Mist, Betty, and Clive! A very cozy novella for a rainy December day. It was written full of comforting feelings for family at Christmas. During this busy season, sometimes we forget that not all families are having the very best year. Sometimes the best gift of the season is kindness and comfort.
Thank you, Deborah Garner, Merry Christmas!
Sweet in every sense.
The characters were so warm-spirited I wanted to reach out and hug each and every one of them! I loved all the metaphysical philosophy that was shared throughout. The scenery and recipes were absolute stunners– culinary magic! I was most definitely so excited when I got to the back of the book and saw the actual recipes from the cookie exchange (a scene from the plot) shared by the author’s personal readers and friends. This was so unique and cute, and I cannot wait to bake up some of these delectable delicacies! My favorite thing about this book is all the inspiration I drew from the DIY crafts that were presented, things like popcorn garlands with cranberries, as I mentioned the recipes, painting gifts for loved ones, and much more, you will have to read to find out more ideas!
The relationships and interactions will warm your Christmas spirit. Love radiates from this book. There was so much beautiful creativity in the details and yet was written simply with an air of confidence.
This is another feel-good Christmas story I would like to read the entire series. Why? The characters were so loving, I really do want to get to know each and every one of their stories, which are spread out across multiple books.
I am unsure what book # in the series this is because on Goodreads it says it is book 2.5, while on my Kindle App says it is book 1. It does not feel like book 1, but I liked the story and the characters so much I really would enjoy reading the entire series no matter the book number. I do like to read books in chronological order though, it’s a thing for me.
Days before Christmas spent at the Timberton Hotel where strangers that are broken from loss and sorrow all connect and find peace with their own battles.
A beautiful story.
Boring, did not really go anywhere. Main character was too “sweet” and unrealistic.
This is the 2nd I’ve read with these characters. Enjoyable, easy to read, nothing horrible happens (well, nothing explicitly horrible). I just really like the setting, the story, and the characters.
uplifting
A perfect, relaxing slice of life story. Don’t go into this one expecting a traditional plot structure. There isn’t one. It’s a sweet window into a cozy little inn where people gather and share their holidays. Much attention is paid to decor, food, and conversation. There is some healing from grief as well.
This is a short “feel good” Christmas story!
Great Holiday story.
I love the characters and storyline of this series.
Mist might be the chef in the hotel’s Moonglow restaurant, but her understanding of other’s needs makes her much more. At this Christmas, the hotel shelters a family who lost a child, a lonely and angry boy, a recent widow, a jilted lover, a cancer survivor, and a professor embittered by the fact that he can’t make it home for Christmas. As Mist cooks and decorates, she weaves in her magic so that by the end of the week, peace has found each visitor. An awesome and heartwarming book.
You will be imagining what these characters look like as they become alive to you!
Light-hearted, sweet, quick, perfect happy read for Christmas
loved this book and its many characters and how they helped each other
Mistletoe and Moonglow, the Moonglow Christmas Book, by Deborah Garner is a Christmas story/recipe book about a young woman named Mist who works her magic at a lovely rural hotel in Montana. Mist cooks, bakes, paints miniatures, and makes extravagant floral arrangements, all while dispensing a good healthy dose of kindness and consideration for everyone she meets. When does this girl sleep?
A lovely lighthearted Christmas story! A group of people check into the hotel and the owner of the cafe in the hotel works to make each person’s Christmas special, in spite of all their sorrows. An easy read.
A cheery, happy, delightful Christmas story.
This is a lovely Christmas story. I enjoyed the characters and their storylines. It was a soothing holiday read
It took several chapters to get into the story. It felt like it started in the middle of the story and you really didnt know what was going on. After that it seem to pickup and you figured it out. Too much about cooking, eating and making flower arrangements. It needed more substance and life stories.
