Emma’s to-do list:1- stay away from Brad2- survive the ACT3- make memories with my boysMoving cross country a month into my senior year was turning out to not be so bad despite all my initial dramatics. I had made some awesome friends and even got a great part-time gig at the coffee shop. Oh, let’s not forget to mention I got a boyfriend… three in fact, all of who have made the not-so-awesome … have made the not-so-awesome parts of my forced relocation after my parents’ divorce easier to handle.
But when our creepy classmate decides to press charges against Jesse, the confrontation with my parents finally comes to head, and my still-pestering ex from California decides to take it up a notch- will we be able to deal with all the stress, or will we end up in over our heads?
#TickedOffTuesday entries just got a whole lot longer, but we can totally handle our senior year and make it to graduation, right?
Book 2 of the High School Clowns & Coffee Grounds Series
The High School Clowns & Coffee Grounds Series is a WhyChoose/Reverse Harem trilogy featuring MFMM meaning the female main character doesn’t have to choose between her love interests.
This book contains references involving PTSD, sexual assault recollections, abuse, underage drinking, and other themes that some readers may find triggering.

Emma, Jesse, Kingston, and Reid are dealing with the fallout from the party. Emma is dealing with the stress of her parents divorce, studying for the ACTs and preparing to testify against Brad. I liked seeing Emma’s relationships the the guys and her friends grow. With everything going on, Emma gets even more shocks from her parents. The steam level gets more intense in this book, and I liked seeing them all United and talking through their issues. The story does end with a creepy, suspenseful tone – I do have my suspicions as to who it is, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Another sweet and cute addition to this series. There is quite a lot more tension in this book as our MC’s face new challenges. We have some really good side characters. Looking forward to the next book.
Yes! Misters & Mochas was everything I was hoping for. Parts of the storyline were settled, we got some special lovin’, and the thrill factor has been built up all over again by the end. Genuinely one of my favorite contemporary RH stories as it’s realistic and just plain sweet. Love it!
The second book is even better than the first! I can’t say enough good things about this series. I love the depth of characters, the interesting storyline, and the steamy times are hot! Once again AJ Macey deals with sensitive topics (child abuse, sexual assault) with class and sensitivity. I can’t wait for book 3!
Things seem to have gotten darker in this book. Not the relationship between Emma (FMC) and her boyfriends – Kingston, Reid and Jesse. Their relationship and how they are with each other is so sweet and caring. Its just lovely. I love how they all are together. The darker elements are with the other characters in this book, Brad, Tyler (her Ex-boyfriend) and her parents. Who are genuinely the most self centered people ive ever read about. Theyre just awful! The ending to this book was so good too. One hell of a cliffhanger thats for sure. Cant wait for the next book
Loved it! Finished it in a day and now I have a book hang over. This picks up right where book 1 left off. All the feels! More time with the guys together and one on one. Things get a little steamy. We finally get some answers about the sudden divorce of Emma’s parents. The end left me reeling! I can’t wait for book 3!
I received an ARC of this book… Story went on unraveling the suspense in separation of parents while dealing the aspects of social causes like child abuse , sexual assault etc., in a very good manner… Relationship development of the main characters is well embodied… Certainly the author took readers along… worth reading!!!
I received this book this book as an ARC. This book really gave me all the “feels.” Intense situations, romance, and lots of laughter to name a few; had me engrossed in this book as soon as a opened it. I loved how Emma and guys grew in depth. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the third book.
Amazing and heartbreaking second installment
So Emma can’t catch a break.
This book starts off where Lads and Lattes left off. Jesse is still due for his day in court thanks to stupid creepy Brad, Em’s mom is still being an absentee parent, and don’t even get me started on her dad!!
Anyway, ANYTHING that could go wrong or make life more difficult for Emma, happens in this book. Only with the help and loyalty of her friends and Reid, Kingston, and Jesse does she stay sane and somewhat happy in this book!
Seriously, grab some tissues this book gets intense. It’s insane how many reveals, heartaches, happy times, and drama happen in this book. But the craziest thing of all is that everything Emma has to deal with is REAL. It can and has happened to many real live people and I think that is what makes me connect so much with this series, it has real life drama and experiences. Absent parents, unwanted attention, prejudice, high school rumors and name calling, and support from the family made rather than born to are all something someone can relate to.
Life, it is an unpredictable B. Reading this series (as with all of her books) you can feel AJ’s emotions and life experience with every word read. You can tell she put her all in to telling Emma’s story and doing it justice.
I for one, am so looking forward to the next installment of this series! Oh and that epilogue AJ? Girl, you mean.
