From New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan comes a standalone romance about a swoony single dad and the new neighbor he falls for.Last night was the most embarrassing night of my life.I was that girl. You know, the highly intoxicated chick celebrating her thirtieth birthday with her two best friends—who are happily married. And the more I drank, the more I wanted to do something reckless … the more I drank, the more I wanted to do something reckless to celebrate.
By reckless, I mean the sexy and alluring man dressed in a business suit standing near the bar. You know his type—tall, dark, handsome. I was sure he was out of my league, but I’d had just enough alcohol that things like that no longer seemed to matter. I’m not fat, mind you, but you can tell I like french fries, so there’s that.
He took me home, and I enjoyed the hottest birthday sex of my life. Well, until it came to a screeching and rather unwelcome halt.
There’s nothing quite like being interrupted mid-ride with a little voice asking, “What are you doing to my daddy?”
Just kill me now . . . or so I thought.
Come to find out, the man I rode like a bull at the rodeo is my new landlord.

I’m a sucker for single dad stories and throw in a funny heroine and sassy four year old I’m all in. Kate had a phobia with commitment and was only looking for a one night stand when she met Hunter. Hunter is a single dad and not really into one night stands but something about Kate made him just want to break his rules. The electricity between these two was just wow. But then the funniest most embarrassing thing happened and their night was cut short.
Couple days later when Kate was moving to her new apartment that’s when she realized that Hunter is her new landlord. And his daughter comment at the time was priceless, hahahahahaha. After the awkwardness they decided to be friends with slight benefits lol. Everything was going good but then feelings got involved which surprisingly they handled very very well with the blessing of Maddie. She was freaking adorable.
The epilogues were cute and funny. I really enjoyed these two. No drama just a cute funny sexy read.
Another fabulous book from Kendall Ryan. This time we meet Kate who is single and out with friends celebrating her 30th birthday. She sees a hot guy across the bar and figures she is going to have a very nice birthday! Kate goes home with Hunter after talking with him and is surprised mid hook up by his young daughter. Kate runs out and figures she will never see him again and goes about with her life. Welllll things don’t always work out so well for Kate or maybe they do…. Kate finds a new apartment and lo and behold Hunter is her new landlord. Even though Kate is happy with her life and just have the occasional 1 or 2 night stand and steering clear of relationships she finds herself drawn to Hunter. Even though Hunter would love to be in a relationship he agrees to Kate’s plan of just hooking up. Hunter isn’t looking for a mother for his daughter but more so just someone for him to be able to talk to and share things with. Kate and Hunter were a HOT couple and you just hoped that Kate realized what she could have before it was too late because Hunter is quite the catch and wouldn’t stay single for long. Both of these characters were like able right off the bat even though you wanted to Kate to wake up and realize how awesome Hunter was sooner rather than later. The end of the book was perfect for these two and just made me smile while I read it.
Mister Tonight is a quick and cute and hot read. The two main characters fit archetypes that I generally love: a curvy, feisty heroine and a single dad hero. There’s not a lot of character development or background given about Kate and Hunter – we know that she’s a bit of a commitment-phobe due to her parents’ troubling relationship and witnessing her sister’s divorce (though those are as deep as the details go for both of those examples) and that Hunter’s baby mama is not involved and hasn’t been since very early on. It was sweet watching Kate and with Maddie (Hunter’s daughter) over their gluten-free diets after the fiasco of their first meeting and (as per usual with Kendall Ryan’s characters) the chemistry between Kate and Hunter was fire! Even the epilogues were super cute and sweet, but I could’ve used 50-100 pages more of story (though to be honest, when it comes to Kendall Ryan I always want more). 3.5 out of 5 wine glasses.
This is fun and flirty. Kendall Ryan excels in writing sexy and witty banter. Hunter’s vulnerability makes him even more attractive and can you say, swoony single dad? His dedication to his daughter, Maddie, is admirable and heartwarming.
It took me awhile to warm up to Kate, she’s commitment-phobic to a tiring point, at times. But she eventually won me over once her mind’s made up.
Great summer read.
Gahhh! Kendall Ryan just did it again. She delivered another delicious romance full of hot sexy times, a strong and sassy heroine and all the Single Daddy swoons. A perfect five-star winning combination!
When Kate meets Hunter she never would have expected that he would shake up her life. Always looking for Mister Tonight versus Mister Right, Kate’s carefree and no-strings lifestyle comes into question when the connection she forms with Hunter and his adorable four year old daughter makes her rethink her stance on the need for love in her life. But when lines get crossed and feelings develop will Kate allow herself the chance at happiness or will her commitment phobic ways catch up to her?
This novel was FANTASTIC and may be my new favorite Kendall Ryan book yet (Sorry Zach!!) It was full of the usual heat and humor we’ve come to expect from this author but with a unique twist that I loved. In this story Hunter was the one who wanted a relationship and a commitment whereas Kate was the wary and skittish party who was unsure. It was a nice change from the norm seeing how she was the one to realize that Hunter and his sweet daughter were the exception to everything she thought she wanted. I truly loved this and never wanted this story to end! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula
Oh my what a priceless story this was. I absolutely adored it. I giggled, I swooned and at moments wanted to yell because I wanted something to happen. Kendall Ryan has a way with words that makes you fall in love and never want to leave her stories. I absolutely loved Kate. She was witty and sassy. I loved how she fumbled but stood tall. The dishwasher moment was priceless. Then you have Hunter. I love how devoted he is to his daughter and how he is always wanting to be the one there for her but needed to feel more than just a parent. Then you put Kate and Hunter together and it is pure magic. They play so well off of each other and their chemistry is amazing. Enter Hunter’s daughter and laughs ensue! There were some very hilarious but very amazing moments as these three navigate life.
Overall, I think this is one of my faves by Ryan. She blends a single father story in such a brilliant way that I could not put it down. I loved every moment of this story. It was fluid and quick paced. Though that may be because I just wanted to devour it so badly! I highly recommend this one and you will not regret it!
Is there better way to celebrate your “Dirty 30” than being on top of a hot as hell man you picked up at a bar? Probably not….until his daughter comes in and catches you….
Hunter and Kate meet while at a bar and have an undeniable attraction to one another. After Kate runs out when Hunter’s daughter finds them, fate has them meeting yet again. Kate is Hunter’s new tenant.
I honestly love everything about this book. Hunter and Kate keep everything out in the open. I enjoyed that Kate owned who she is as a woman, looking forward to living on her own and enjoying casual hook ups. I loved that Hunter thoroughly enjoyed Kate..how confident she was and how he knew almost immediately that she was so much more.
Mister Tonight was fun, sexy, fast paced and yet nothing in the story was rushed. There was no drama and the characters were mature and there was no silly nonsense between Hunter and Kate. A single dad and an independent woman…what could be better than that? I adore this book and highly recommend it!
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
What a wonderful and romantic book! Kate and Hunter end up meeting at a bar on Kate’s thirtieth birthday. She’s one that prefers one-night flings versus being in a committed relationship and Hunter immediately catches her eye and she wants him to be that guy to help her celebrate her milestone birthday. Sparks fly between the two and they head back to Hunter’s place only to be interrupted mid-romp and things get interesting from there!
Kate ends up becoming Hunter’s tenant and things definitely continue to stay interesting. Kate is very up-front about the fact that she doesn’t want a relationship and Hunter is equally honest about where he stands. What I loved about this story was the realness and maturity that these two people exhibited. They talked about things and they respected where one another were coming from. As they begin to spend more and more time together, will Kate’s stance on relationships change or will she and Hunter be destined to just be friends?
This was a fast-paced, swoonworthy and sexy book. It never felt rushed to me and I felt like I was able to connect well with the characters and I was pulling for them! Once again, Kendall Ryan proved she’s got a knack for writing fantastic love stories!
Kate is a no strings attached, hook ups only girl. Hunter is a single dad. He wants a relationship but when Kate offers a single night he is compelled to take her up on the offer. After a disastrous night, Kate is shocked to learn he is her potential landlord.
Steamy and sweet romance. Kate is independent and knows what she wants. Hunter is a sweet, devoted dad. I liked how the relationship progressed. The characters are believable and likable. A feel good romance with a bit of angst.
Who said anything about forever? Hunter and Kate set out to have a good time and end up closing in on happily ever after. Kendall Ryan spices it up with a spoonful of sugar and whole lot of cayenne. There’s nothing sexier than a single dad. Hunter only has eyes for his adorable little girl, but his heart yearns for something more. Mister Tonight is comedy worthy of romance. Wickedly sweet seduction.
4.5 stars
Kate is out celebrating her 30th birthday when she has an epiphany. She doesn’t want or need a relationship. She needs to find a Mr Tonight. A man that will give her exactly what she wants with no strings attached. When she spots a gorgeous man in the bar she thinks her prayers have been answered.
Single dad Hunter doesn’t normally go out looking for a one night stand but when he realises Kate wants the same as him, he’s all for it. So much so that not only does he forget to mention he’s a single dad with a very curious 4 year old daughter at home but he also fails to lock the door giving Kate and his daughter the shock of their lives. When Kate hot tails it from his house, neither of them expect to have to see the other again.
I loved Kate. She’s got a carefree vibe about her that I really liked. Hunter is everything! He’s not interested in playing games and i really liked that maturity that he had. I loved how he accepted Kate for who she was without batting an eye. The tension between Kate and Maddie was brilliant and added a real ness to their relationship.
Overall this is another great romance from this author. It’s fast paced, the characters are extremely easy to like, there’s plenty of hotness and it’ll have you cringing in sympathy while trying not to snort laugh. I thoroughly enjoyed Mister Tonight.
Mister Tonight is a very entertaining contemporary romance novel. This is a great story of unexpected romance between two people who find each other in a bar, both just looking for a one night stand. I loved the story and highly recommend this book!
Nice, sweet romance with some funny moments. Good author, I am looking forward to reading more of her stories.
I’ve read a decent amount of Kendalls books, and for the most part, I really enjoy them. Every now and again I come across one that is just okay for me. This was one such book. I never got really invested in the characters or their story. I found myself skim reading just to get through it. But, just because it’s not for me doesn’t mean its not great for others.
Kate and Hunter’s initial encounter does not go as planned when they are interrupted. They expect that they will never see each other again…until the next day. Kate is a bit of a commitment-phobe and Hunter is a smoking hot single dad. They end up having a lot in common aside from their physical attraction and spend a lot of time together. The bedroom (and the kitchen) is hot for them. Maddie is super cute and smart as a whip. Hunter is an amazing, and a super hot hero. I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it.
This is a well-written, entertaining, steamy, humorous romantic suspense novel. It has likable, engaging characters, a cute kid, and a happily ever after ending.
Didn’t put it down until I finished it. Loved it
Cute story. On her 30th birthday, Kate picks up Hunter in a bar. She never intends to see the single dad again but–surprise–he ends up as her new landlord. They negotiate a sex-only relationship but it isn’t long before both of their hearts are engaged. Both of the main characters are likable and the plot moves along. There is virtually no angst except for a little bit of “should they or shouldn’t they.” Hunter’s daughter is a cute secondary character.
Kept you wanting to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next
Amazing !!
