From New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan comes a standalone romance about a swoony single dad and the new neighbor he falls for.Last night was the most embarrassing night of my life.I was that girl. You know, the highly intoxicated chick celebrating her thirtieth birthday with her two best friends—who are happily married. And the more I drank, the more I wanted to do something reckless … the more I drank, the more I wanted to do something reckless to celebrate.
By reckless, I mean the sexy and alluring man dressed in a business suit standing near the bar. You know his type—tall, dark, handsome. I was sure he was out of my league, but I’d had just enough alcohol that things like that no longer seemed to matter. I’m not fat, mind you, but you can tell I like french fries, so there’s that.
He took me home, and I enjoyed the hottest birthday sex of my life. Well, until it came to a screeching and rather unwelcome halt.
There’s nothing quite like being interrupted mid-ride with a little voice asking, “What are you doing to my daddy?”
Just kill me now . . . or so I thought.
Come to find out, the man I rode like a bull at the rodeo is my new landlord.

When out celebrating her 30th Birthday Kate decides she wants her Mr Tonight but definitely not a Mr Forever so a one night stand will appease. This is where she meets Hunter, a godly looking man in a bar who also happens to be a single father to a very curious 4 year old.
Back at Hunters place Kate is having the best sex of her life when the little voice pops up “What are you doing to my Daddy?”. Mortified and taken aback, Kate hightails it out of there leaving Hunter to explain things to his daughter. Little be known to Kate she ends up back in the same place the next day as it turns out Hunter is the landlord to her new apartment and it so happens to be above his garage. Maybe friends with benefits could be the answer but what happens if feelings become a problem?
There is nothing I love more than a good book with a heroine that is strong and can hold her own, don’t get me wrong sometimes the heroines persona can all depend in the situation she is in and which genre category it falls in. This was a swoon worthy romance that will leave you ohhhing and ahhhing and lets not forget hot under the collar when it comes to the bedroom department.
Kendall Ryan certainly knows how to write a really good story with equal amounts of hotness all in the right places. This single Dad Romance will have you hooked and you will not put it down until you read those words The End. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to see what Kendall Ryan writes next.
This was such a cute read! I have to say that Maddie was my favorite character and that little girl cracked me up. Some of the things she said had me laughing out loud. I loved Kate and Hunter together and how they had to slowly realize they wanted more. Kate more so than Hunter. The epilogues helped me get some closer and I’m happy finally read this book! I really recommend it if you want a sweet, sexy, and funny romance!
This is a feel-good romance.
As in, there’s almost no drama or any crazy misunderstanding. There’s attraction, craziness, a little bit of ‘what are the odds?’, and then a whole lot of sweet.
Mister Tonight is that romance you want to read if you aren’t looking for anything over the top.
Get it now!
Such a great short Rom-Com that had me smiling and laughing. This book is perfect for a day at the pool or beach, snuggle on the couch on a rainy day, or a short trip on a plane. Love that what started out as a one-night stand develops into a great friendship and finally a lovely family.
Love all the words by Kendall Ryan!
Kendall Ryan proves just how difficult it can be for a single father to get laid, and she does it by writing one hilarious and awkward cockblocking introductory scene that sets the tone for Hunter and Kate’s entire story. And while Kate definitely doesn’t make the best first impression on Hunter’s 4 year old daughter, Maddie, she, unknowingly, has many more opportunities to get in the good graces of this curious little girl because not only is Hunter Kate’s new landlord, but as any ‘good neighbor’ would do, Hunter and Kate come to one another’s aid quite frequently, which puts Kate and Maddie together on numerous occasions.
The path from Mister Tonight to Mister Forever is not an easy one, especially due to Kate’s reluctance to enter into any kind of serious relationship. But it’s clear since their initial interaction that Hunter and Kate share an intense attraction and can’t take their eyes off of one another, so as long as they can get on the same page when it comes to exactly what they want and need from each other, hopefully this single-dad will find his Miss Forever and a mother figure who will love Maddie as her own.
I love the fact that Hunter and Kate’s story is told from both of their perspectives; it’s essential to know how each of them is feeling as they continue with their causal relationship while also experiencing stronger feelings towards one another, and because Hunter and Kate aren’t the only two who have to be considered when it comes to what’s building between them, there’s a delicate balance to keep, and it’s interesting to see how Maddie influences Hunter and Kate’s decisions and actions throughout the course of the story.
Kendall Ryan’s newest release is a sweet and sexy story that illustrates how even a commitment-phobe woman can’t resist a handsome single-dad who proves just how good they can be together with their clothes on even if they started as a no-strings attached casual sex arrangement.
4 Poison Apples
Every time I read a new Kendall Ryan romance I’m reminded why I love her stories so much. Always fun and always quick to read, her romances are filled with light-hardheartedness and easy romances that will make you swoon on every page. Mister Tonight is no different and brings another trope to her romance repertoire. A night out for her 30th birthday turns into some hilarious one-night stand action for Kate. Hunter is hot, charming, and knows what to do with his hands…except apparently locking the door when his 4 year old daughter walks in on their *ahem* adult moment. Laugh it up as they scramble to hide away and explain what’s going on and Kate books it out the door!
Obviously mortified and hoping she can move on, Kate looks forward to moving in to her new apartment…only its Hunter’s apartment! Hello awkward! As they try to change their relationship from one-night-stand to landlord/renter, there are some cute and funny moments as they navigate. Add in the adorable little girl and the things kids can say and this whole story is filled with precious moments. Our couple are literally the boy and girl next door; one afraid to commit, the other wanting more when he thought he’d never find it.
Once again, Ryan proves that characters that flow well and have chemistry result in fabulous stories. Hunter and Kate were obviously so attracted to one another. I found myself laughing at how clueless they could be sometimes towards one another. Another feel good romance to add to the books! You need a palate cleanser romance that just makes you feel giddy, Mister Tonight is it!
Super sweet, and a little bit naughty. It has an adorable independent four year old that’ll warm you heart, and a sexy single dad that’ll make you swoon. I loved this story.
Mister Tonight was a steamy but also sweet romance.
We have Kate whose a commitment-phobe single lady. Who is not looking for mister forever. And just wants some fun. Hunter the single father, hoping someday to find his forever. The two jump into a type of friends with benefits. Laying down the ground rules so that they won’t get attached. But as usual, that doesn’t always work out so well.
I did enjoy this story. It was easy to read, it was fun, and it was a very very steamy romance. The chemistry is there between these two. I know that whenever Kendall comes out with a new book, I’ll fall easily into it and I’ll read it quickly. I didn’t connect with the characters emotionally. I felt as well that maybe it was a little rushed, so you didn’t feel the connection with them. But otherwise, it was worth the read.
Overall, I give this Four Boundless Stars.
Incedibly intriquing!!!!! Gotta read to truly enjoy..no hints, just READDD!!
This book was really good. I think Kendall Ryan could have made the story longer. Great love story. I think Kate and Hunter’s romance could’ve been more… Romance. He never took her out on dates, all they had was, sneaking away or hiding from Maddie, to have casual sex. I think the book could’ve had a more romantic feel toward it. But overall it was a really good book.
Kate is out celebrating her birthday and looking for her mister tonight, not her mister forever. She spots Hunter from across the bar. They go back to Hunter’s place for a one night stand, only Hunter’s adorable daughter has other plans. Kate is horrified and runs out, hoping to to never run into her Mister Tonight again, but fate has other plans. Hunter is Kate’s new landlord.
I absolutely love anything Kendall Ryan writes and this one did not disappoint. It was sweet, it was funny, and it was sexy. It is a perfect summer or anytime read. The story is told in both Kate and Hunter’s point of views, which I absolutely love. They are both such lovable characters and it is so easy to connect with them both.
I have to say that Hunter’s daughter stole the story for me. She was funny, she was smart and she was sassy. Her interactions with both her father and Kate were great.
Once again, a great, sexy and hilarious standalone romance by Kendall Ryan.
Hot single dad
One night stand
Humor
Embarrassment
I love single dad and one night stand books!
When Kate meets Hunter she never would have expected that he would shake up her life. Always looking for Mister Tonight never Mister Forever. Kate is a carefree and no-strings attached kind of woman but her lifestyle comes into question when she forms a connection with Hunter and his adorable four year old daughter makes her rethink her stance on the need for love in her life. But when lines get crossed and feelings develop will Kate allow herself the chance at happiness or will her commitment phobic ways catch up to her?
This book was freaking amazing! Funny when it needed to be and serious when it needed to be. I absolutely loved every second of this book and can’t wait to see what’s next!
Definitely my favorite audiobook from Kendall Ryan. Loved the story, and the unexpected twist. Loved the chemistry and banter, so sexy and funny. Absolutely loved the narration. I highly recommend this book/audiobook.
Yes, yes, just yes! Mister Tonight was completely amazing!! This was one of the BEST introductions into a book that I have ever read! Like… seriously hooted out with laughter and I was unable to put it down after that! Ms. Kendall Ryan totally kills this story! I mean, you have this incredibly hot and just plain insatiable night going on with this crazy hot man of tonight and then you hear this cute little voice from behind… I died! No joke, I’m writing this from beyond the grave because I laughed myself to death just with that scene alone!
I really love the role reversal happening in Mister Tonight. Kate is not looking for Mister Right; she’s looking for Mister Tonight. She wants fun and no strings. Who better than the incredibly sexy man across the bar? A hot and intense one night stand in on the cards. It doesn’t end there, oh no, fate is messing with Kate. By messing I mean… fate is putting Hunter right in front of her face at every opportunity.
Ms. Kendall Ryan’s books keep getting better with every new release. I can’t handle these fun and amazing characters. Kate is fun and full of life. Hunter is a perfect and sexy daddy. I’m seriously drowning happily in all these floods of single parent stories. I love them! Ms. Ryan is creating these stories that pull in my heart and consume me from start to finish.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
Mister Tonight is another perfect example of what Kendall excels at – writing really sweet and romantic stories.
This book starts off with Hunter and Kate meeting at a bar and having a one night fling – except things get interrupted mid-sexy time and thus ending anyone getting their happy ending.
As the blurb tells you, Kate ends up being Hunter’s tenant. However, things don’t just go right into them being hot and sexy immediately. Oh no, no, no. Kate was not lying when she said she was commitment-phobe. She is truly excited to finally live on her own with no roommates and live her single life, even with her landlord being the one night stand, interrupted.
I love that Kendall has both Hunter and Kate acting very mature about things and never muddling shit up. They are both upfront on how they feel and keeping things no-strings. I need to say one thing that I really loved so much about this book was Kate’s aloof approach on her causal hook-ups. I love that she owned who she was and was not apologetic about it; BUT I also loved the Hunter did not look at her any differently, if anything, he liked her even more for being confident in what she wanted in life and not holding back because of society’s view. OK – enough about that, but just wanted to point that out because that made me love Kate (and Kendall) even more.
Kendall played this book out perfectly. While the book was fast-paced, everything played out naturally. Nothing was rushed, there was no unnecessary drama and the sexy times were HOT!!! Another great romance from Kendall!
Single dad Hunter is going to make you want to find your own single dad out there.
First, a devoted father who is incredibly fun, cute and just straight up adorable with his daughter is a plus in any book.
Kate is a 30 year old woman who is starting her dirty thirties with a little fun of hooking up with a handsome stranger who happens to be Hunter.
Hunter & Kate’s chemistry is electrifying as soon as they meet.
I enjoyed how Kate was the one to initiate Hunter for a casual sexual relationship.
This book was a quick and enjoyable read that had me laughing and swooning and of course fanning myself from the hotness that poured off the pages.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the premise and definitely enjoy single dad stories so I was excited to read this one. It was so good! Funny, sexy, and full of fun!
“It was official. My four-year-old was a cock-blocker.”
And we all know that this is true of kids! But I adored Maddie. She was such a smart and strong little girl.
So what happens when Kate & Hunter decide to enter into a casual only relationship?
“Thanks for fixing the dishwasher…and the rest of my plumbing.”
It makes for some hot scenes! But this story was so much more than that. I loved Hunter! He was so sweet, a wonderful father, and a hottie to boot. Kate was so much fun; I loved her snark and wit! I look forward to reading Love Machine next! (4 stars)
Gosh, don’t you just love it when a great story hits your kindle? Yeah me, too, and this, Mister Tonight by Kendall Ryan is one of them. It was just the perfect early summer read. Not too heavy on the angst but with a super sweet ‘friends with benefits’ to lovers tale.
Kate and Hunter made me smile so much my cheeks were sore by the time I finished reading this little beauty. Hunter is a hot, sexy swoon-worthy single dad, trying to mix his life as a single dad with dating, but it hasn’t worked out too well so far. Kate is a strong-willed sassy woman with a downer on relationships thanks to her douche ex. She’s not interested in forever, just give her Mister Tonight.
But, when these two meet in a club where Kate is celebrating her thirtieth birthday, sparks fly and soon they are dancing the horizontal tango.
Kate meant for their night to be just that, one night, but Hunter wants more and living so close she finds it hard to resist him. Add in his adorable four year old daughter and it’s a match made in heaven… or should be.
When gun shy Kate starts to catch those ‘feelings’ she was so worried about will she get over her fear committing?
What if Hunter isn’t be able to keep the ‘friends’ line from blurring?
I flipping loved this story and I’m sure you will too.
I thoroughly recommend it to anyone thinking of buying it. Don’t think, just One-Click today.
I am ashamed to say I only recently found Kendal Ryan. I mean I have followed her for a while and have read a book here and there, but recently really started reading her books and am loving them. In Mister Tonight we get the story of a single father and the woman that changes everything.
That woman is Kate and while she was celebrating her thirtieth birthday with her friends, she was determined to have a good time and maybe find mister tonight. When she sees the sexy man in a business suit, she was all in. That is until the little girl is asking her what she is doing to her dad. I was laughing out loud. So, what does she do, she runs. Imagine her surprise when she sees them again!
I loved how easy and light this story was. When Kate learns Hunter is now her landlord, they decide to be honest and upfront. Kate is not looking to be committed and Hunter can see the benefits of a no-strings arrangement. His daughter Maddie is his life and main priority. But together they have chemistry and a great connection.
This book! It was so sweet and sexy and had so much chemistry! I devoured this story. I loved how easy and compatible Kate and Hunter were. Though they both resisted commitment, they fell into each other easily and Maddie, his daughter was just adorable. Overall a great read that pulls you in.
4.5 stars! Read and reviewed for Reviews From The Heart.
Happy reading!
I could never go wrong with a Kendall Ryan book. She knows exactly how to make me happy and swoon at the same time.
Mister Tonight was definitely a fun, flirty and quick read. I was so hooked with Kate and Hunter that when I reached the end, I wasn’t ready to finish with them.
I absolutely loved Kate, she was the polar opposite of the heroines I’m used to reading about. I loved the fact that she was the type of woman in charge and she got things done the way she wanted. She wasn’t a commitment type of gal, she wanted just one night stands, no strings attached type of commitment. But when she meets Hunter and they go and have their little one night stand at his house she gets a surprise she definitely wasn’t prepared for.
But the bond she forms with both Hunter and his daughter was cute. This book was definitely engaging and I adored it completely. Single dads are a total weakness for me and makes my heart work double because I can’t stop swooning!
