I absolutely loved these books. Sanderson builds a complex world that you can easily picture. The characters are complex, and I never saw the ending coming. I’ve only read the trilogy but I’m excited to pick up the books that come later.
So I finished the second and third books in Mistborn Trilogy and I’m a little sad. I was so pleased with the first book, which I buzzed about already–the pacing was just right, I was starting to get attached to the characters, and I found the magic system and whole heist narrative really fun.
But the next two books (The Well of Ascension and The …
Brandon Sanderson strikes again. Mistborn is perhaps what most people know Sanderson for; it’s a great high-fantasy epic which sticks to the true multi-narrator formula which is Sanderson’s trademark. To those not familiar with the concept, Mistborn are essentially people with strictly-defined superpowers that are fueled by metal. Some have …
This is a great intro into Brandon Sanderson
Beautifully created high fantasy. Vin, Kelsier, and other crew members are planning to overthrow the Finally Empire…Is it possible to overthrow the Lord Ruler, even with two Mistborns and only a few Mistlings?
OMG. This book was freaking fantastic. I loved every minute of it and even though it was a long book. I didn’t want it to end.
The beginning while great also was a bit rocky, because we get a lot of info dumping but even with that I still enjoyed it, the info dumping was done right so it didn’t feel so overwhelming and boring.
We do get multiple …
In the past months I’ve immersed myself in the stunning audiobooks of this imaginative series. Engaging, creative, with fascinating and layered characters. Epic fantasy at its best.
My fave fantasy series of all time. I love the unique magic system, the wonderful characters, and the twists and turns in the series. I seriously did not see that ending.
I got into this series when the Author took over the WoT series and he became one of my favorite authors ever since. This is a great series with a strong female protagonist.
Loved the characters. Loved the visuals of the world.
I read the entire series as fast as I possibly could. If I took a break, I couldn’t wait to get back to it. Sanderson sets up a world that explores consequences not often considered in the fantasy genre: what happens when the bad guy wins? What happens when the good guy win? There’s no “and they all lived happily ever after.” Instead, there’s …
I listened to this book. It’s one of the first audiobooks I tried. It took a little while for me to get into, but once I did, I couldn’t finish the series fast enough. Very original and unpredictable.
This is a different book about what happens if the anti hero wins. The world building is awesome. Would love to see this made into a Hollywood movie.
Unbelievably good. Creative new series that you get very attracted to
This is a epic fantasy book with great world building and great characters who grow through the series. It is one my favourite books , It talks about a different type of magic system and about a world which you discover as you progress in reading the series
Mistborn is one of those books that is at once brilliantly inspired and brilliantly written. It possesses a deep insight into what it means to be a human, and what it means to believe. Woven from the beautiful threads of a broken world Mistborn tells the tale of an immortal empire of ash… and the young hero who is at the same time its hero and …
Outstanding world-building, unique magic system and an epic feel that takes you far away. Great work, for sure.
If you’re bummed out and need a book to take your mind off the harsh realities of the world might I recommend that you under no circumstances read this trilogy. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a masterpiece. I loved every minute of it. But it also ripped my heart out and stomped on it with soccer cleats.
So it’s up to you.
Finished book one and two and have gotten book three but already know it will be good 🙂
So I’m not really good at writing inspiring reviews, but all I should say is that Brandon Sanderson is a brilliant author and always manages to captivate me with his stories. I’ve never felt more deeply connected to a story as in Mistborn. He somehow manages to make even the most NPC-like side characters important and his story telling is just …
