Leave it to a former CIA agent to write a twisty, multi-layered suspense that truly reveals the mistaken reality that the title promises. I was taken along on a mystery that addressed a very troubling reality.
This book starts with a bang and a murder which is how any good suspense should begin. As the mystery unfolds, there is more than meets the eye. Hadley and JD are sucked into this situation and get to know each other along the way.
What could be better than a mystery, a little romance, and a happy ending?
Caution: Reading this review may lead you to an absorbent amount of time reading where you won’t get much done, because your nose is stuck behind a book. It may also cause you to lose a certain amount of sleep.
I had the great opportunity to get Traci Hunter Abramson’s new book Mistaken Reality before it was released. The following is my honest opinion.
Oh my word this book was good! I can’t remember the last time I lost sleep over a book. Better yet, this book was like a reunion of characters from other books by Abramson. Such as: The Saint Squad, Ghost, Senator Whitmore, and the Cabbotts.
The suspense in this book was hand-gripping good. The romance was great as well.
After reading this book, I was glad that I only experienced this safely in my home and not in real life. This story really opens your eyes to some heart-breaking reality that we often don’t think about.
Overall I highly recommend this book, despite the loss of sleep.
I am an avid fan of Traci Hunter Abramson and read everything she writes. I love the action and suspense with just a tickle of romance that she always writes about. You will come to love Hadley and JD and will be totally enthralled with the crime they are so desperately trying to stop. I loved it!
This book is so addicting! As are all of Ms Abramson’s books. I forced myself to savor the story and absolutely enjoyed it. Excellent characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is filled with action, suspense, mystery, and love.
Hadley Baker is a third grade teacher who unexpectedly found herself breaking up with her perfect boyfriend Spencer.
JD a FBI agent is in pursuit of crime boss Rabell.
The story starts out with a hotel bombing organized by Rabell, Spencer and his co-workers disappearing, and a mystery behind who was the real target for the bomb? It then delves into the controversial topic of human trafficking and the agencies that work together to stop the criminals in their tracks. It covers the topic of human trafficking without crossing the lines of inappropriateness.
JD, his partner Noah, and Hadley continue to wrack their brains looking for any information to ultimately solve the who and why of the bomb. While other agencies travel the world pursuing different leads.
Traci Hunter Abramson has once again written another intriguing book. Mistaken Reality is well written and uses her knowledge of CIA operations to make this book feel credible. This book had me staying up late to finish, and hoping that there is a happy conclusion. It left me thinking about the evils of human trafficking and what everyone can do to try and stop such a horrible practice.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery, crime, or romance novels. It is a clean novel that will keep you reading until the very end.
I was given access to this novel from the publisher, all opinions are my own.
Wow! This book was so well written! It was intense and action-packed, it had mystery and adventure, and a wonderful ending. I loved the characters. They had depth, strength, and courage. This is the first book I have read by this author and will definitely look for more of her stories. There was also a sweet and clean love story that fit the story and characters perfectly. I highly recommend it!
I received a complimentary copy of the book. All opinions are my own and are expressed voluntarily.
They say you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, but there needs to be more to that rule. You shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover… unless it’s an amazing cover!
In this case, the stunning cover ties in perfectly with the title and the story. Traci Hunter Abramson is a master storyteller and this book is no exception.
Has your life ever taken an unexpected turn and left your head spinning trying to figure things out? The main character in this book is facing that exact situation, trying to figure out what is the true reality and coming to terms with the shattered truth of her life. She searches for truth, all the while questioning if she can learn to trust again.
Look at the cover again, it’s clearly a grenade but is it an apple grenade… a pineapple grenade? The man she thought she loved wasn’t what he at first appeared, but was his danger just on the surface or was he rotten to the core?
This book is filled with suspense, romance and well-developed characters. If you have read her other books, you’ll recognize several other characters including the Saint Squad, the guardians and Senator Whitmore. Some of the characters from Deep Cover also play an integral roll in the story. If you haven’t read her other books, this one would be a good place to start.

Wow! What an amazing book! I love every book I’ve read by this author, but this is definitely in my top 5. The plot was unique, intriguing, and so well written, and the characters were multifaceted and endearing. I also appreciated the author bringing light to the horrors of human trafficking and the fact that it’s happening right under our noses. I couldn’t recommend this author and book more!
Another fantastic suspense novel full of mystery, romance, and intrigue by the talented Traci Hunter Abramson! Mistaken Reality captivated me from the start and I love how unpredictable and enjoyable it was to read. What makes this book particularly great to me is the issue of human trafficking it brings up and the awareness the author brings to readers about our own real life realities. It tackles a real life hard topic in a beautiful fictional tale of suspense and mystery while still staying positive and ending happy. The characters are written so well they feel like friends and family. A sure win, I highly recommend this novel.
What a great book. Filled with characters we already know, some we get to know better, and new ones to meet. I enjoyed watching the two main characters come together in a way that is unlike your typical romance book. Their goals and determination to protect them those around them is fresh and is what we all wish to see more of in this world. Overall a wonderful read. Highly recommend.

This book caught my attention right away, and kept me reading until I was done. I will admit I was a little concerned when Kelsey and Noah showed up (but only because I thought their book was a little slow), but everything flowed really well for me. Normally when the perspective changes from the main characters I feel like it takes away from main story and I can’t wait to get back to the main characters, but this one was incredibly well done and I didn’t feel like anything was taken away from the story. It actually made me want to go back and reread some of the stories in the other series. I was also kept wondering if one of the characters was the bad guy or not. That was a fun change.
Human trafficking isn’t something I thought a lot about, but recently I’ve read multiple books with this as a topic in it. This tells me that this is a problem that is more prevalent than I was aware of, and it makes me wonder what I can do to not only be aware, but to help.
This was definitely a book I will be rereading again and again, and one that I will definitely recommend as one of Abramson’s best. Definitely in her top 10.

Like many of her previous books, Abramson starts this one with a bang. Literally. Hadley Baker flees to the restroom after her boyfriend abruptly breaks up with her. FBI Agent JD Byers finds her there moments before a bomb goes off. Afterwards, Agent Byers is forced to inform Hadley that the man she thought she knew may have been involved with the bombing. When men associated with the bombing ransack Hadley’s house looking for something, she goes into hiding with Agent Byers. What neither of them expects is to develop feelings for the other. Meanwhile, they continue to work on the case along with Byers’s partner and others (including the guardians and Saint Squad from Abramson’s other books) work to bring down the man and organization behind the bombing. As with her previous works, Abramson writes a compelling narrative with an interesting story line and sympathetic characters. And it’s always fun to hear more about characters met in previous books. If you enjoy clean romantic suspense I can easily recommend this new book by a favorite author.
Abramson has a way of telling an action/suspense story like no one else can! She starts off with a bang (literally a bang) and the action seems to never stop! Hadley is just this average person; a school teacher who loves her students and has a boyfriend. Until he publicly dumps her during a dinner with his colleagues. Hadley is quite suddenly thrown into the path of JD as he is clearing a building because of a bomb. Thrown together under unusual circumstances, Hadley and JD begin to try to unravel the mystery of who her boyfriend really is and what he was a part of. I love a book that I cannot put down because I have to know how it ends. This is that book! Every time I thought I had something figured out, Abramson would throw another curve ball my way.I love action/suspense novels and romance…this is the book is the perfect blend of both worlds! If you want a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, this is the book for you! I received a copy of this book for free; all thoughts and opinions are my own.
